Brighton Dome
This beautifully ornate multi-arts venue was first constructed as the Prince Regent's Royal Stables and Riding House in 1803. Brighton purchased the building in 1850 converting it into cavalry barracks before it was re-purposed as a concert venue and assembly hall in 1867. Now a Grade 1 listed building the art deco refit that remains today (with a couple of tweaks to bring it up to modern standards) was overseen by architect Robert Atkinson in 1934/35. Featuring three performance spaces the larger Concert Hall, the Corn Exchange and intimate Studio Theatre (accessed via New Road). Over the years the venue has hosted everyone from Pink Floyd and Jimi Hendrix to the Eurovision Song Contest (in 1974 when ABBA romped to victory with 'Waterloo').
The Dome is approximately 10 mins walk from Brighton station and there is parking available at the NCP Theatre Car Park on Church Street.
