Cud

Cud

13 Dec 2025 - 13 Dec 2025

Emerging from the same art/design cauldron that produced fellow Leeds legends Soft Cell, Scritti Politti, and The Mekons, CUD were the pre-Britpop answer to doleful shoegazing bands fun-loving, light-hearted, romantic and downright catchy. Alternatively loved or loathed like a yeast extract, CUD are indie rock for the unpretentious pleasure seeker, boasting as they do the rich deep-lunged voice of Carl Puttnam, edgy guitars of Mike Dunphy and tight, funky rhythm section of William Potter, bass and Gogs Byrn, drums. CUD were initially lauded for their quirky Peel session cover of You Sexy Thing in 1987. They soon built up a huge live following and buffed up their repertoire with a string of unstraight pop beauties, best exemplified by the 1990 album Leggy Mambo. This led to a major-label deal with A&M in 1991, front-page NME coverage, massive sellout gigs and proper Top 30 hits, Rich and Strange and Purple Love Balloon. Misunderstood by record companies and press, CUD packed away their guitars and sticks in 1995 but, bolstered by a greatest hits anthology (Rich and Strange) in 2006, they agreed to tread the boards again, with a further reunion following in 2012 (now with original guitarist and key songwriter Mike Dunphy) and continue to find an army of Space CUDets still eager to sing along, dance like fruitcakes and invade their stage.
Gaye Bykers on Acid

Gaye Bykers on Acid

13 Dec 2025 - 24 Jan 2026

Formed in Leicester in 1985 the Gaye Bykers on Acid rose to fame with their first independent release "Everythang's Groovy", which reached the Indie top 10. The Bykers followed their initial success with the "Nosedive Karma EP", which topped the independent charts. With their incendiary live shows their fan base grew, including a now infamous appearance at Glastonbury festival. The band were one of the first to fuse rocking riffs with Hip Hop beats and along with Pop Will Eat Itself became a part of the "Grebo" movement and in turn became front page news. Ahead of their time or just out of their minds, the Bykers were flavour of the month, which led the band to sign a deal with Virgin records, with whom they made 2 albums, "Drill your own hole" which was the soundtrack to a movie of the same name and the critically acclaimed "Stewed to the Gills". The Bykers then went stateside playing with the Cult at Madison Square Garden, where they impressed a watching Joey Ramone, who offered the band a support slot on the Ramones upcoming European tour. The band continued to evolve musically exploring new styles. Touring the UK, US and Europe it was this hedonistic and hectic schedule that eventually led the band to finally self-destruct in 1990... The original line up reformed in 2016 to play the Indie Daze festival and buoyed by the positive response they decided to carry on.

Snapped Ankles

Snapped Ankles

13 Dec 2025 - 13 Dec 2025

They came from the trees. Now settled in fertile east London, Snapped Ankles maintain the feral energy of the forest. Fight or flight. Primal motorik rhythms, the rush of white noise and post-punk angles; an aural onslaught played out on homemade log synths, electrified guitars and sticks beating hell on taut animal skin. Snapped Ankles have flourished in the sub-tropical climes of warehouse and squat parties, moving onto performance art collaborations with filmmakers and shows in unlikely locations such as barber shops, games arcades and the forests they once called home. They plough a singular furrow at improbable angles. The woodwose have discovered electricity and they’re not afraid to use it.
Kid Kapichi

Kid Kapichi

16 Jan 2026 - 21 Jan 2026

It’s Kapee-chee It’s Ben Beetham (guitars, vocals), Eddie Lewis (bass), George Macdonald (drums), and Jack Wilson (vocals, guitars). Four twenty-somethings with big personalities from Hastings who’ve been making music together for over half their lives, in various configurations. Working in pubs, construction, motorcycle trade, anything. Driving nightshifts just to keep playing. Eight years of non-stop graft. “The bands that make it are the ones that don’t give up,” says Eddie. “We’ve sacrificed everything. Normal jobs, settling down, we put our lives completely on hold for our dreams.” And the four have dreamed up something special as Kid Kapichi. A behemoth of a band on and off stage thanks to the Hastings scene that nurtured them, until they got their big break from Frank Carter - he invited them to play his birthday party and then join him on a major tour. Their best songs explore racism, in-work poverty, mental health, violence, frustration, and all-consuming love with honesty and humour. All their songs come studded with barbed wire hooks, bristling with the juddering shock of lived experience, the cathartic thrill of a balled-up fist relaxing into an air punch.

Nouvelle Vague

Nouvelle Vague

13 Feb 2026 - 13 Feb 2026

Bossa Nova = Nouvelle Vague = New Wave. This transliteration was the starting point for Marc Collin and Olivier Libaux’s unique project, which, by appropriating the punk and post-punk cannon and running it through the Bossa Nova filter, reinvented the cover band genre, revealing new and brilliant talents along the way: Camille, Phoebe Killdeer, Nadeah, Mélanie Pain, and Liset Alea. The group’s first two albums, Nouvelle Vague (2004) and Bande A Part (2006) defined their unique sound with Bossa versions of New Wave Classics. Their third album NV3 (2009) featured collaborations with Depeche Mode's Martin Gore, Ian McCullouch from Echo and the Bunnymen, Terry Hall from The Specials, Barry Adamson, The Saints & Minimal Compact.

Atomic Rooster

Atomic Rooster

25 Feb 2026 - 25 Feb 2026

Since reforming in 2016, with the blessing of band founder Vincent Crane's widow, ATOMIC ROOSTER , with their early 70's heyday guitar player STEVE 'BOLTZ' BOLTON at the helm the band have gone from strength to strength playing scores of festivals in the UK and Europe and frequently touring to a steadily growing fanbase. Aside from their two 70's UK and USA chart hits, DEVIL'S ANSWER and TOMORROW NIGHT, 'Rooster are also much acclaimed for at least two classic proto-metal-gothic-prog albums in the shape of the legendary 'DEATH WALKS BEHIND YOU' album from 1970 and 'IN THE HEARING OF...' released the following year. Both these albums plus the following 'MADE IN ENGLAND' with Chris Farlowe on vocals and Steve Bolton on guitar (not to mention SPINAL TAP's legendary drummer RICK PARNELL on drums!) have firmly established ATOMIC ROOSTER at the vanguard of British Progressive music. The current line-up draw heavily on these early classics as well as new material from their forthcoming album 'CIRCLE THE SUN' to be released On Esoteric Recordings/Cherry Red Records on October 10th 2025 and debuted live on their October- November European Tour
Lorelle Meets the Obsolete

Lorelle Meets the Obsolete

3 May 2026 - 15 May 2026

Mexican duo Lorelle Meets The Obsolete make a very welcome return with their sixth album, Datura. Recorded at their home studio in Ensenada, Baja California, it was mixed in Canada by Jace Lasek of The Besnard Lakes and mastered in Australia by Mikey Young of Eddy. Current Suppression Ring and Total Control. It’s a short, sharp shock of a record with no unnecessary adornments and no fat on any of its eight songs. Gone are the psychedelic wig-outs found on previous releases, replaced with bass-heavy post-punk grooves inspired by the roots of The Congos, the no wave of Ike Yard, the industrial hip-hop of Dälek and the dark modular moves of Hiro Kone, all while harnessing the elemental power of Jon Hassell’s Vernal Equinox.

Shit And Shine + Container

Shit And Shine + Container

12 Feb 2026 - 12 Feb 2026

Shit & Shine and Container - Heavy machine music for the heads, ravers and noise freaks. Shit & Shine. Hailing from Austin, Texas. Craig Clouse, the hardest working man in the business, has released everything from pounding and shiny techno to acid house, electro, funk, krautrock, hip hop, found sound, spoken word, live percussions... He is uninterested in the self imposed restrictions of genre. He has carved out a unique spot in machine music. 2018’s You Were Very High EP, established something of a watershed moment for the majority of his current sound. After weeks of sitting at a sampler loaded with anything and everything - Black Sabbath, Rihanna, Prince, Steely Dan and a host of audio lifted from YouTube clips, the record’s two sprawling sides come together like a hallucinogenic sonic miracle. Recent live highlights include appearances at Convenanza Festival in France (the brainchild of a certain Andrew Weatherall) and in Feb 2025 a sold out two day residency at Cafe Oto, London. Since his last visit to Hastings in Feb 2025 he has released another three albums. Container has always danced between heavy, relentless, joyful, silly, and sloppy. Think Lollapalooza 1996 held at Berghain 2006 and you are somewhere on the way to trying to get your head around the raw live electronic insanity unleashed by one of the contemporary electronic music scene’s more playful pioneers. Spike From Quireboys

Spike From Quireboys

12 Dec 2025 - 2 Apr 2026

Spike is the founder and front man of the Quireboys - one of the UK’s most enduring rock 'n' roll bands. A band that's been through different chapters and had different line-ups, but Spike is the constant throughout. Song writer, singer and leader of a band with which he has now become synonymous. With lifelong friend Guy Bailey, Spike penned the benchmark Quireboys songs - such as Hey You, I Don't Love You Any More and 7 O'Clock - tracks which have defined the band musically for decades and, to this day, remain the hallmark songs of any Quireboys show. With the Quireboys inactive as a live act due to the pandemic, Spike booked some low-key acoustic shows to tour his Late Night Song Book album. He was one of the first acts, if not the first act back with live music as lockdown eased in the summer of 2021. It was the perfect setting to encourage people back to grassroots venues - low key, socially-distanced shows, evenings of music and storytelling. These intimate shows have continued to prove very popular and remain one of Spike’s favourite performance showpieces. Even though the newly re-formed Quireboys continue to sell out larger venues he is very much at home with his acoustic guitar, accompanied by Chris Heilmann. 2026 will be another busy year year for Spike that will see him playing across Europe and the USA but you know that he will be back in the UK performing his unique ‘solo’ shows to the fans old and new.
