An immersive candlelit choral experience Step into a world of light and sound as The Canterbury Chamber Choir presents A Sky Full of Stars an immersive choral performance where you are free to move through the candlelit space, watch the singers up close, and let the music surround you. This unique concert invites you to experience choral music not just as a listener, but as part of the soundscape itself walking beneath the vaults, pausing in pools of candlelight, and feeling voices rise and fade all around you. Musical Director, Peter Futcher, has curated a programme of immense depth and warmth, brimming with energy and light. We want you to feel the starlight and to be consumed by the sounds of 40 voices and supporting instruments. A Community United Through Song Founded in 2021, the Service Childrens Community Choir has quickly become a beacon of creativity and resilience, giving military-connected children a platform to express themselves and build lasting friendships. Their performances have captured hearts across the UK, including a standout appearance at the Royal Albert Hall during the BBC and Royal British Legions Festival of Remembrance. This Christmas concert is a chance to celebrate their achievements and the strength of our local community. Concertos and Carols - A Musical Christmas Celebration
Richmond Chamber Orchestra presents Concertos and Carols A Musical Christmas Celebration North Yorkshires new pocket-sized orchestra presents an early celebration of Christmas, a mixture of traditional favourite's and less familiar gems. Baroque music in the first half, with Corelli's Christmas Concerto, Vivaldi's Concerto for 4 Violins, and Telemann's Trumpet Concerto. After the interval there's music with a Christmas theme by Vaughan Williams, Josef Suk and Florence Price. The singing starts with carols by John Rutter sung by members of the Swale Singers and Richmond Choral Society, and finally its the audiences turn to join in some traditional carols, with trumpeter Michael Atkinson providing sparkling descants!
Leyburn Festive Gurkha Band Concert 2025
Join us for another evening of incredible music at the Garden Rooms at Tennants. This popular annual event sees a lively performance from the Band of the Brigade of Gurkhas, featuring a unique selection of lively Western and Nepali music, rousing military tunes, and traditional Gurkha songs. This year, the Band will bring a Festive programme, delivered with their trademark blend of professionalism, enthusiasm, and sense of fun to get everyone into the Christmas spirit! The Garden Rooms provide a beautiful, spacious location for the event, with plenty of free parking. Seating within each section will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. If you have any accessibility needs or require any assistance with regard to seating, please get in touch. Raffle tickets, food and drink will be available to purchase before the concert begins. It will also be possible to pre-order drinks in order to collect them during the short interval. Fundraising for The Gurkha Welfare Trust Proceeds from the concert will help us provide vital support to Gurkha veterans, their families, and communities in Nepal. With your help, we enable people to live with dignity by delivering essential financial and medical aid, and work with local communities to provide access to clean water and education.

Go Forth... by the Richmondshire Orchestra
Get up and go with Richmondshire Orchestra's spring concert 'Go Forth...' Setting you on the path, the concert opens with Wagner's inspiring and bombastic 'Overture to Tannhauser'. 'Go Forth' features two of the great soprano roles by Richard Strauss and Mahler, performed by Jane Burnell. One of Yorkshire's finest sopranos, Jane joins us from Reisopera, Holland. Marvel at the serenity and pure emotion of Richard Strauss' 'Four Last Songs' one of the pinnacle roles for any soprano soloist. The concert closes with Mahler's 4th Symphony. It encapsulates the best of his style: precise orchestration, a sweeping full orchestra and a sublime solo soprano. We hope this concert will leave you enchanted, and inspired to go forth with a spring in your step!
