City of Aberdeen Distillery & Gin School
Hidden within a historic railway arch, in the heart of the city, you can find Aberdeen’s first distillery for over 75 years and 1st ever Gin School.
The distillery is owned and run by two friends, Dan and Alan.
Inside the railway arch you will find a Distillery, Gin School and Shop.
Gin School Experience...
Become a Distiller and create your own gin in this 3 hour experience! Following a short talk and a tour of the facilities, choose from over 100 botanicals and distil your perfect bottle of gin using a beautiful copper alembic mini-still.
The group is led by the head distiller who is on hand to help you select the ideal botanicals and quantities for your unique gin recipe.
Finally, decide the strength, bottle and cap it, and label your own full sized 70cl bottle of gin - you’ll need a name for it too!
Double Gin & Tonic on arrival, drinks throughout, a chance to sample our range of demi-johns and celebrate becoming a distiller with a surprise cocktail.
The Gin School Experience can accommodate for up to 20 distillers at a time.
The distillery...
Towards the rear of the arch is the production area where Aberdeen Gins are distilled, bottled, capped and labelled.
The distillery also offers Discovery Tours and Gin Tasting Masterclasses - advanced booking is recommended via the website but also the owners are happy run events at specific times/days to suit visitor's planned itineraries.
Shop and demi-johns...
Alongside the Gin School is a shop offering a range of demi-johns – flavourful traditional gin recipes and fruit based Aberdeen gins (using locally sourced fruit) that are hand crafted within the distillery. These are very limited, single batch creations and available in a range of sizes to take home.
The demi-johns are designed to be fully flavoured and use the best quality ingredients opting for locally sourced fruit/botanicals where possible. These are only available in-store at the distillery and include the popular "Fresh" Gin.
Why not visit and sample the latest flavours and discover the best of Scottish Gin.
