Anti-Nowhere League

Anti-Nowhere League

3 Oct 2026 - 26 Mar 2027

The Anti Nowhere League started up in 1980 in Royal Tunbridge Wells. They released their debut single 'Streets of London' b/w 'So What' in 1981. The single reached number 48 in the UK charts and would have probably got higher had it not been seized by the Police's Obscenity Squad due to the profanity-laden b-side. 'So What' has since become the band´s anthem and has been covered by Metallica who play the track regularly to this day in concert. This was followed up by their seminal debut album 'We are...the League' in 1982 on WXYZ Records. This was followed by their 'Live in Yugoslavia' album but the band has split by the end of the 1980's. Since reforming the band have released some incredible albums such as 'The Horse is Dead', 'Out Of Control', 'The Road to Rampton' and more. In 2017 the Anti-Nowhere League have released their latest album ´´League Style ( Loosen Up )' which includes their own unique take on classi Ska & Reggae tunes such as 'Long Shot Kick De Bucket', 'Johnny Too Bad', 'Suzanne Beware of the Devil' and more.

Leo Kottke

3 Jun 2027 - 9 Jun 2027

Acoustic guitarist Leo Kottke was born in Athens, Georgia, but left town after a year and a half. Raised in 12 different states, he absorbed a variety of musical influences as a child, flirting with both violin and trombone, before abandoning Stravinsky for the guitar at age 11. After adding a love for the country-blues of Mississippi John Hurt to the music of John Phillip Sousa and Preston Epps, he issued his 1968 recording debut LP Twelve String Blues, for the Oblivion label. Leo Kottke released his major-label debut, 'Mudlark', in 1971. Kottke flourished during his tenure on Capitol Records, as records like 'Greenhouse' (1972) and 'My Feet Are Smiling' (1973) found him branching out with guest musicians and honing his guitar technique. His recent collaboration with Phish bassist Mike Gordon, 'Clone', caught audiences’ attention in 2002. Kottke and Gordon followed with a recording in the Bahamas called 'Sixty Six Steps', produced by Leo’s old friend and Prince producer David Z. An AGMP Concerts presentation. Presented by AGMP. The Rezillos

9 Oct 2026 - 16 Jan 2027

The Rezillos burst forth upon the rock scene in 1976, having gathered together at Edinburgh College of Art. Through a shared love of Sixties Garage Rock and the Spectoresque Girl Group glam of The Ronettes and The Shangri-Las, The Rezillosfound themselves inadvertently caught up in the Punk or New Wave movement. Their debut single, I Can't Stand My Baby, shot them to underground fame initially via airings on John Peel's radio show. Their classic singles My Baby Does Good Sculptures, Top of the Pops and Destination Venus signalled critically acclaimed milestones for the band. Their landmark album of 1978 Can't Stand the Rezillos reached the top 10 in the UK album chart. They appeared twice on the legendary Old Grey Whistle Test and hit the Top Twenty with their hit single Top of the Pops, a satirical swipe at the UK pop music show of the same name. Once the band had achieved chart success it was inevitable that they should appear on the same show! They followed up that same year with a live recording, Mission Accomplished... But the Beat Goes On, and promptly broke up to the anguish of fans and music critics alike.

Alan Reed and the Daughters of Expediency
Alan Reed is a man in a hurry. Despite having been diagnosed with Parkinson's in late March 2025, he's determined to get out there as much as possible - until he cant. To that end he's bringing his band, The Daughters of Expediency, to a venue near you. He has an album to promote - Grey Sky Thinking. In a nod to Pallas - the band he's now rejoined - they intend to play at least 45 % of tracks by them. Though they will make them their own. Alan also has both The Messenger and Elemental (due some time before Christmas ) to promote, as well as a boxed set of the Inside Out Years. Alan's history is a history of Brit Prog itself. First coming to prominence with Glasgow's own Abel Ganz (recording Gratuitous Flash with them) before joining Pallas in mid 84. He recorded The Kightmoves EP (featuring his first work with the band - the epic Sanctuary), and The Wedge LP for EMI. A punishing gig schedule saw Pallas become one of the tightest acts imaginable, with a legendary status to match. A period in the wilderness followed, but a CD re-release of the album saw the band from Aberdeen pick up for some unfinished business. This culminated in another purple patch of releases via Inside Out. Notably Beat The Drum, The Cross and The Crucible, and The Dreams of Men. The final recorded work of the band was Moment to Moment, which covered the band's earliest years (as well as the then present) at a gig in Poland. Alan was dropped from the band in 2010, and after considering his future with or without music, decided to dip his toe in the water. The result was the Dancing With Ghosts EP , that saw him hook up with Mark Spencer (Twelfth Night/Galahad) and Jennifer Clark (Horse) who formed the nucleus of The Daughters of Expediency. They were soon joined by Henry Rogers (Drums - Mostly Autumn), award-winning Tudor Davies (keys), and Daren Callow on lead guitar. Gigs followed in support of solo albums First In A Field Of One, and Honey On The Razor's Edge. His third album, Grey Sky Thinking, will be available at the gigs. As will The Messenger and Elemental. The two Pallas albums he's been on since rejoining them shortly before moving back to Scotland in 2022. This marks a turning point for Alan and the band. Having been diagnosed with Parkinson's, this may be the last chance to see him, as he's already lost the use of his right hand and doesnt know whether hell be up to gigging in future. To this end he's taken on Neil Winton - wholl play his parts on guitar. And Sunny, who's all over the album with her distinctive backing vocals. Rumour has it that Alan will be joined onstage at Veruno by two members of Pallas. They are planning a mini- set. This will be the final time they play together. Support comes from HATS OFF GENTLEMEN ITS ADEQUATE, who combine prog/alt/art-rock, with contemporary classical, minimalist, metal and electronic elements. They often explore scientific and science fiction themes. In 2025 they have released their critically acclaimed 8th album, 'The Uncertainty Principle'. Spiky neo-prog and art-rock. Never less than entertaining, passionate, humorous and committed Prog Magazine

911

29 Oct 2026 - 29 Oct 2026

911 will be performing at 229 as part of their 30th anniversary tour on 29th October 2026. 911 began their journey in 1995 - Spike and Jimmy had been the main dancers on ITV’s cult TV show The Hitman and Her which was presented by Pete Waterman and Michaela Strachan. Lee was working at a ten pin bowling centre and had taken a letter to his local radio station CFM in his hometown of Carlisle asking if he could perform on one of their roadshows. CFM had recently been working with Spike and Jimmy’s manager Steve Gilmour and faxed him the letter and picture, as they knew he was looking to put a new Boyband together. 911 was born and their rise to Boyband stardom had began! The lads moved to Glasgow and started touring schools and under 18 clubs around the UK to build their fanbase. 911 became well known for their high energy stage shows, jaw dropping dance routines, fun personalities and big catchy pop songs. They had now achieved teenage sensation status, appearing on front covers of magazines and performing on tv shows around the world. This is a seated show This show is 18+ Presented by 229. Flamin Groovies

15 Sept 2026 - 19 Sept 2026

Acid Box Promotions & Stay Sick team up to bring the legendary Flamin' Groovies! Flamin' Groovies The Flamin' Groovies story goes all the way back to 1965 when the band began as the Chosen Few in their hometown of San Francisco, California. After a name change and a self-released 10-inch album called Sneakers, which sold amazingly well, the band caught the attention of Columbia who sent them into the studio with a big budget to record their first real album, Supersnazz, on the Epic label. Their next two albums were on Kama Sutra (home of their heroes, The Lovin' Spoonful): Flamingo, and the revered classic Teenage Head. Lead singer Roy Loney left the band right after that and lead guitarist Cyril Jordan moved the group to England with Chris Wilson (formerly of Loose Gravel) taking over as front man. They continued their style of straight ahead guitar driven rock 'n' roll but this time with a more 60s rather than 50s influence. A few singles on United Artists, recorded at the legendary Rockfield Studios in Wales with Dave Edmunds producing, followed in the early 70s. In 1976 they signed to Sire Records, who released three true gems of power pop: Shake Some Action, Flamin' Groovies Now, and Jumpin' In The Night. Another lineup change ensued, with Wilson moving to England and joining the Barracudas. The Groovies continued on through the 80s and into the early 90s touring Australia and Europe, putting out a fine but overlooked album called Rock Juice and then finally calling it quits. Jordan formed a new band called Magic Christian. The band reunited in 2013, and toured and recorded for the past six years, they've played throughout the USA, including multiple tours of the East Coast, West Coast, and Midwest, a dozen shows in the San Francisco Bay Area, several highly successful tours of Europe, and repeated visits to Japan. In 2016, they celebrated their 50th anniversary, and in 2017, they released a new album of all original material, Fantastic Plastic, which ranks amongst their finest. + special guests

With sophisticated hints of música popular brasileira (MPB), Tropicália, Afrobeat, folk rock, psychedelia and jazz, MOMO.'s music has always resisted categorisation, and new album Tum Tum Tum is no different. The eighth album from London-based Brazilian artist Marcelo Frota aka MOMO., features guest appearances from Brazilian bossa nova legend Marcos Valle and Smoke City's Nina Miranda as well as UK jazz trombonist Rosie Turton and his tight-knit band - recorded in South London. The album moves fluidly between moods and registers, from the warmth of crisp basslines to frenetic percussion, and from punchy horns to floaty strings, reflecting a career spent absorbing whatever was around him, whether that was fado in Lisbon, the jazz scene in London, or the psychedelic currents of 1970s Brazil that first shaped him. His hushed voice and cunningly-shaped guitar lines remain the through- line, transforming delicate melodies into the sound of an artist who has a deep understanding of his own musical identity. “featuring members of shoegaze and post-rock heavy hitters Caspian, Junius, and Constants, SOM plays the kind of somber, glimmering music that exudes a heavy fog of emotion and introspection around it.” - Kerrang! SOM's third full-length, Let The Light In, is out now via Pelagic Records. With a unique sound dubbed “Doom Pop” by Metal Injection, SOM’s dreamy shoegaze roots are on display, but the heft at its core is bracing and ferocious. Let The Light In sees SOM turn their sights inward, towards our most primal impulses; seeking solace and reconciliation within ourselves and the people we hold close. Since 2019, SOM have toured extensively across North America, Europe, and the UK alongside likeminded acts including Katatonia, Sólstafir, Slow Crush, Blackwater Holylight, Rosetta, Holy Fawn and more. Their relentless touring schedule across 22 countries, along with an evolving catalog and their most recent genre-bending cover of Taylor Swift’s dark pop anthem “Anti-Hero” with a video by Joel Villegas (Gojira, Poison The Well), has solidified their place as innovators in the landscape of modern heavy music.
