Royal Docks

The Royal Docks enjoyed an abundance of Victorian design and engineering, with depth to handle big ships and extending to 4 kilometres in length it includes the Royal Albert Dock, the Royal Victoria Dock and the King George V Dock. Now managed by the Royal Docks Management Authority, it maintains the infrastructure of bridges and locks, and the area is now home to 600,000 people as well as being an events venue. Excel exhibition arena is next door.

On The Water will help 1,200 children and young people to experience the thrill of water-based adventures and earn qualifications this summer. This years programme is offering young people aged 914 a chance to try out sailing, paddle sports and much more, free of charge. At Sea Cadets Royal Docks Boat Station, located in East London, young people will take part in water-based activities on the docks, learning new skills and developing confidence in a safe and welcoming environment.
