Recently refurbished, Dunoon Burgh Hall is open to all as a creative, cultural hub for Cowal. The historic B listed building is a fully accessible venue for exhibitions, performances and gatherings. Alongside a gallery and theatre, the venue offers a welcoming cafe and creative workshop space.

After a successful visit to the Burgh Hall last year, the hilarious Gary Faulds returns to Dunoon with New Material. “Come and join me at my favourite smaller venues, getting material together for the main tour. This is a unique gig trying untested and raw material. You won’t know any different unless a bit dies on its hole, you will know when that happens because I will bin it and go full terror mode on the front row. I am grateful for your support and can’t wait to see you all!”
Bruce Fummey: Scotland Made The World
Discover the unparalleled charm and comedy of Bruce Fummey, where humour meets Scottish history and insightful storytelling. Bruce, the comedian behind the 230k subscriber YouTube channel Scotland History Tours, returns home to Perth with a new show packed with laughs as he explains how Scotland Made the World in his own inimitable style. His unique approach showcases and celebrates Scottish culture and history in a way that will not only keep you fully engaged, but have you roaring with laughter. Every Saturday morning UK-time, Bruce posts a story from Scotland’s history on his hugely successful YouTube channel. This live show will deliver more jokes than you get from the videos, and some might even make you blush, but you’ll leave having learned about Scotland’s role in the world while laughing along the way. Nominated for comedy awards in Australia, at home in Scotland and even named Scottish Comedian Of The Year, Bruce has appeared on ABC series Stuff The British Stole and many UK TV and radio shows.
Silver Cuff or Wrap Ring workshop with Iona Lundie Design
Enjoy a relaxed Saturday with creative individuals getting hands on learning some simple silversmithing techniques. In this 2.5 hour course you’ll learn how to create your own beautiful open cuff bangle or wrap ring in sterling silver with a gorgeous hammered surface texture. Make this statement design, personalised by the hammered textures you create, and finish it in your choice of polished or oxidised metal. This workshop is focussed towards adults (18+) but teenagers (13+) can attend if accompanied by a participating adult. All tools, materials, tuition and cake will be provided! Davy Brown Art Exhibition Marking his 75th Birthday
For Davy Brown there has never been any doubt about the path his life would take: to paint and to share his skill with others. Davy was born in Kilmarnock in 1950 and studied at Glasgow School of Art from 1968 – 1972. The following year he qualified as an Art Teacher from Moray House in Edinburgh before winning a scholarship to travel and teach art in America, Canada and Iceland. His career began officially at the age of 21 when he held his first solo exhibition at the Citizen’s Theatre in Glasgow. After being in promoted posts in Grange Academy, Kilmarnock and Ravenspark Academy, Irvine he moved to Newton Stewart in Dumfries and Galloway and from 1989 – 2002, Davy was Principal Teacher of Art at Douglas-Ewart High School, during which time he continued to exhibit in one-man shows throughout the UK. In I997, he was elected on to the National Assessment Panel for Art and Design, and served for seven years. The same year he was appointed to the post of Lead Teacher in Art and Design for Dumfries and Galloway. For twenty-five years he worked in various capacities with The Scottish Examination Board and The Scottish Qualifications Authority, the final three years working as a Standardiser for the Advanced Higher examination. In 2002 he retired from teaching to become a full-time painter. Davy was President of the Dumfries and Galloway Fine Art Society from 2017 – 2020. Davy’s paintings can be seen in public collections nationwide: the Gracefield Arts Centre, Dumfries; The British Linen Bank; The University of Leicester; The University of York; the Dick Institute, Kilmarnock; Dumfries Royal Infirmary and The Royal Cumberland Hospital, Carlisle. In England he is represented by the following: Red Rag Gallery, Stow on the Wold; Jo Bennett Original Pictures, Manchester; Walker Gallery, Harrogate. Well-known figures such as David Suchet, Penelope Keith, J.K. Rowling, Robert Carlyle, Clare Balding and Jim Wallace are all in possession of his work. There will be work in this exhibition available to purchase. Entry to our exhibitions is free but it does cost us money to bring them to Dunoon Hall. Dunoon Gaelic Conversation Group The first Saturday of every month. Dunoon Conversation circle is a meeting-place for everyone in Dunoon with Gaelic – at any level. It will be informal and friendly – two hours of time for chat, coffee and cake. It will be an opportunity to use your gaelic and talk together with other people who share an interest in Gaelic. For beginners – there will be a wee workshop in the first hour to build confidence. Dunoon TradFest brings a weekend of vibrant Scottish traditional music to the town. Their mantra is that there will be something for all traditional musical tastes at Dunoon TradFest, from free acoustic sessions in cafés and coffee shops, to full on ceilidh bands in pubs and restaurants – mixing traditional with contemporary elements. Festival Concert: The main festival concert takes place at the Burgh Hall, with a full day of performances headlined by the dynamic Peatbog Faeries. Known for their high-energy shows, they’ll be joined by a diverse line-up of talented musicians. Beyond the main stage, the festival features free gigs, workshops, and informal sessions in cafés and local venues. Whether you’re a devoted trad fan or just looking for a lively weekend in Dunoon, this festival offers the perfect blend of top-tier music, community spirit, and West Coast charm.

What is Qi Gong? Qi Gong is designed to slow the nervous system down. You will learn the main principles of this ancient practice for restoring balance and harmony between the body and mind. Learn about your energy system and how to recover a calm and focused state of being. Qi-Gong is about the balance of tension versus relaxation and circulating energy in the body. Through practice, you can retrain your brain to release old habits and stored up emotions to recover your natural, balanced state. Master Collette has studied and taught Tai Chi and Qi-Gong for almost twenty years. Each week you will be guided through specific movements and principles that you can use every day. These sessions are accessible for all ages and levels. Collette has kindly asked that session proceeds are made as a donation to Dunoon Burgh Hall – you can book online or pay at the cafe on arrival.

He always said it was part of his romantic plan, but they both know that’s rubbish. Join Arthur and Jane, at the beginning, as they tell us their story. Connected by the music of Frank Sinatra, this intimate, humorous and deeply moving love story explores the effects of Alzheimer’s disease and the transformative power of music in our lives. This award-winning production has been performed throughout Scotland, and the play has been performed internationally and across the UK to great critical acclaim.
