Guns or Roses

Guns or Roses

27 Sept 2025 - 29 Nov 2025

Guns Or Roses are without a doubt the most entertaining tribute to 'the most dangerous band in the world'. Over the past five years they have built up a large and loyal following throughout the UK and Europe and in July 2015 were watched by millions when they appeared in an episode of BBC One's 'Don't Tell the Bride'. John Sumbler is widely regarded as the most authentic Slash impersonator on the scene, recreating each riff, solo and lick to the note. It has to be seen to be believed, and up front with Martin 'Axl' Colley's powerful vocals, these two are a dynamic force to be reckoned with. Backed by three other superb musicians, Guns Or Roses are the most musically accurate tribute you will find! Playing everybody's favourites from 'Appetite for Destruction', 'Lies' and both 'Use Your Illusion' albums, as well as live elements such as the famous Slash 'Godfather' solo, Guns Or Roses deliver over 2 hours of high energy rock and roll, in full costume with all the swagger and attitude of the original Hollywood hellraisers. So don your bandanas, leather jackets and top hats and get down the front!

Pygmy Twylyte Perform the Music of Frank Zappa
Pygmy Twylyte bring the music of Frank Zappa back to MacArts! So prolific was Frank Zappa's output, that it is nearly impossible to present a representative sample of his work in just one concert. Over the course of his life, and since his death in 1993, over one hundred official Zappa albums have been released, alongside countless bootlegs. These range from 60s psychedelia with the Mothers of Invention, Jazz and Rock material tinged with Zappa's own inimitable spin, through to orchestral compositions performed by the London Symphony Orchestra, among others. Navigating the vast Zappa oeuvre then is no mean feat, but Scotlands Pygmy Twylyte have embraced the challenge with gusto. Since their inception in 2018, the band have selected a core body of classic material, complemented with a rotating offering of more obscure cuts, and blasted this to delighted audiences across the UK.

Kyle Falconer (The View)

Kyle Falconer (The View)

10 Sept 2025 - 5 Oct 2025

Kyle Falconer has always been a songwriter who has been inspired by a female muse. From his chart-topping success with The View through to his acclaimed solo career, his storytelling songs have explored the good times of love and lust; the bad times of regret and heartache; and stories of some of the larger-than-life characters who have stepped into his life, alongside some playful fictional narratives. Recently crowned with the King Tuts Songwriting Award at the Scottish Music Awards, Kyle brings the best of those songs together with The One I Love The Most which will be released on February 7th ahead of Valentines Day. The album is a collection of songs from his vast back catalogue, all of which are named after women and have been newly reworked in acoustic form. Named after a lyric taken from The View fan favourite 5 Rebeccas, The One I Love The Most features songs spanning almost two decades: from the unrequited love of Claudia (from the bands #1 debut album Hats Off To The Buskers) through to the lovelorn Dixie (the original of which featured on last years Top 10 return Exorcism of Youth). Along the way, the album also reinvents highlights from his two solo albums No Thank You and No Love Songs For Laura, which often tackled more complicated themes: Laura shares regrets for his past behaviour and the impact it had on his then-partner and now-wife Laura Wilde, to the issues of gender identity addressed in Kelly. A far lighter moment comes with Madonna, a playful, celeb-heavy imagining of what the ideal afterlife might be like, while Manchester rapper PROSE adds his razor-sharp rhymes to an otherwise stripped-back Lucy.
