As of March 2020 venue is in administration. Square Chapel is a multi use art centre with a programme that includes music, comedy, film and theatre. A major development project, with architects Evans Vettori, was completed in 2017 and provided an extension. The venue now includes the Copper auditorium with 108 seats, a newly equipped Red Brick auditorium with 230 seats and direct access to The Piece Hall. The project delivered a full renovation of backstage and technical facilities. It is opposite Halifax railway station and next door to the Piece Hall.
