Opened in 1977 by Prime Minister James Callaghan, The Brighton Centre has become a major conference and live music venue, featuring international touring acts. Also host to big name comedy, variety and dance acts. Situated on the beachfront with award winning conference catering The Brighton Centre is an easily accessible, flexible venue that can accommodate conferences and exhibitions for 100 to 4,450 delegates. London-based street dance crew Diversity got their start in 2007. Founded by choreographer Ashley Banjo and his younger brother Jordan, they were initially known as Swift Moves Juniors. The troupe rose to fame in 2009 when they won the third series of Britain’s Got Talent. By that time they were a very diverse group of people who not only ranged in age between 12 and 25 years old, but also in everything from educational pursuits to race and height, so the name Diversity was a natural fit.

Madness may have been at the forefront of the late ’70s ska revival, but the band quickly moved beyond the constraints of two-tone. By the time the ’80s were in full swing, their embrace of everything from Motown to pure pop had made them one of the biggest British bands of their time. Madness’s earliest days were as ska band The Invaders, formed in 1976 by Lee Thompson, Mike Barson and Chris Foreman. With the addition of Graham McPherson (aka Suggs), Mark Bedford, Dan Woodgate and Chas Smith, the band changed their name to Morris And The Minors before finally settling on Madness in 1978.

One-fifth of one of the biggest boybands in history and chart-topping solo artist Raised in South Yorkshire, Louis Tomlinson (born Louis Austin) first auditioned for The X Factor in 2009 but didn’t get selected, so he returned in 2010. The judges felt instead of a soloist he would be better partnered with four other contestants – Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Harry Styles – and hence, One Direction was conceived. Although the vocal group placed third during The X Factor’s seventh season, they went on to become one of the decade’s biggest acts, scoring numerous No.1 hits like 'What Makes You Beautiful', 'Story Of My Life', 'Drag Me Down', 'Little Things' and the cover 'One Way Or Another (Teenage Kicks)'. In 2015, after releasing five studio albums, One Direction went on hiatus and Tomlinson launched a hugely successful solo career. He released his debut single 'Just Hold On' in 2016. It peaked at No.2 on the official UK singles chart, and the following year he unveiled the singles 'Back To You' and 'Miss You'. Due to his interest in helping other artists develop, Tomlinson rejoined The X Factor in 2018. He served as a new judge with Robbie Williams and Ayda Field alongside Simon Cowell for the 15th series of the show.
