Buzzcocks Vs Ramones!

Buzzcocks Vs Ramones!

25 Oct 2025 - 25 Oct 2025

Buzzcocks Vs Ramones did Manchester's punk rock Beatles ever share a stage with New York's Paul McCartney inspired kings of ramalama We think not, although we do seem to have stumbled upon a Fab Four connection, further emphasised by the fact one of Buzzkocks is called Paul Macca So, the Special K variant of the band, are with us tonight to pay fabulous homage to Pete Shelley and co's love lorn, libidinal, romantic razor sharp punk pop. They really did have the tuneful pop flair of them mop tops from the previous decade too. What a remarkable run of albums and singles they gifted us in the late 1970s. And what a stunning job of tribute Buzzkocks do. Peerless interpretations of all those kicking tunes, from Ever Fallen In Love to Moving Away From The Pulsebeat, What Do I Get to Noise Annoys. Absolutely superb, you wont be disappointed Buzzers fans. The Ramoanz likewise Dah Bruddas are expressed with loving attention to detail by these chaps. All the big choons, churned out with a cheery 1234 buzzsaw delivery just as youd hope. The original Ramones may all be gone, but The Ramoanz keep their fantastic flame well and truly lit. DJs We Got Killers spin the roots, shoots, fruits and cahoots of both bands til 2am tonight, spinning off into all manner of ska, reggae, soul, disco, rave, indie and rock and roll as dictated by your feet on the infamous DC dancefloor.

Feeling Minnesota

30 Aug 2025 - 30 Aug 2025

Feeling Minnesota+Grace Solero+Alto Alto+Upside Of Maybe Feeling Minnesota- remember the glory days of the early nineties rock fans when plaid shirts, bed head hair and ripped jeans n sneakers showed Hair Metal the door and hard rock embraced punk and melodic Beatles sensibilities to give us the fabled Grunge! Still a potent trope in alterno music today, grunge burned bright with the likes of Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains and many more, all paid brilliant homage this evening by this fine bunch of Kurts (sorry!). Come As You Are but do come, gonna be ace. Grace Solero all the above resonate in the exciting and powerfully progressive work of Grace Solero and her titular band of brothers. Amazing voice she has too, vying against some superb Page like guitar episodes and cracking musicianship from the rhythm section too. Alto Alto from Oxford, UK, with a driving, energetic, and dynamic sound. Led by Jonny Payne, the band marks an exciting new chapter in his musical journey. With a passion for creating something new, Alto Alto pushes his sound in bold, unexpected directions, leaving behind familiar ground to explore new musical horizons. 27 Jul 2025 - 27 Jul 2025

RDF+Punk Soul Brothers Matinee Show Doors at 2pm RDF Chris Bowsher's legendary Radical Dance Faction that is, of course, and this faction does what it says on the tin, providing radical routes to dance euphoria via the modes of punk, dub and psychedelicized trancey artpop. Wonderfully at ease on stage, with a louche, chilled out but commanding delivery, RDF are heroes of many a festival triumph. Huge on the circuit in the 90s, since reforming earlier this century the band has gone from strength to strength, and have performed at Glastonbury, Boomtown, Rebellion, Willow Man and Green Gathering festivals, all to great acclaim. But it's all supercool and indie in attitude and that's why theyre so flaming ace. Canadians too. No way could Donald deal with these beauties. Tval - Northampton based electro duo playing early Kraftwerk type stuff- not very early weird Kraftwerk, but there are some flute sounds in here. Also add a bit of guitar for New Orderliness! Breathy understated vocals and a general vibe of enigmatic disquiet. Excellent. It's an eclectic as fuck bill that's for sure, but joyously unified by each act's individual brilliance. Best Band+Ping Pong Disco+The Fresh Twang+Bittersweet Avenue+DJ Julia Haxen Best Band experimental but rooted in songcraft, BB combine the pastoral, Anglo psych of Syd Barrett, the post punk pulsating syncopation of Flying Lizards and the sweetly shambling indie pop of TV Personalities, as heard on super long player Life As A Baby Ping Pong Disco I Need A Drink's pounding teutonic beats channel Front 242 or Nitzer Ebb, while telsewhere PPD recall early Kasabian, Happy Mondays and Bowie's funkier periods. Meanwhile, Scratcher's nifty sounds and samples have a Sleafords Mods-do-hip-hop vibe and Super Vegetable recalls John Lydon's collaboration with Leftfield add to all this some Butthole Surfers style bonkers vocal treatments and a jaw dropping mash up of Bowie's The Laughing Gnome and the Bee Gees You Should Be Dancing, and you know youre in the presence of genius! The Fresh Twang Fresher than anything youve heard before, The Fresh Twang live up to their name like no band ever has. Performing fresh, alternative dance music fusing dub, 60s psychedelia, and a thick mist of synthpop, theyd be deeply unique even without their signature weaponband leader Rebecca Waller's neo-classical violin, which takes their sound to another level, way out there to outer worldly weird, with big wobbly bass, beautiful compositions and almost deranged arrangements they arent for everyone but if you want something 100% guaranteed different then The Fresh Twang will absolutely provide something truly refreshing. We concur!! Bittersweet Avenue four piece alternative pop rock band fronted by the visceral young Ukrainian songwriter Anastasiia Viter who delivers rocked up Lana Del Rey vocal vibes fused with grunge flavours. The band have honed a tight set of hard rock tinged alterno with bags of appeal.
