Ronnie Scott's

This legendary jazz club opened on 30 Oct 1959 in Gerrard Street before relocating to its present dwelling six years later. In 1989 it was named by the Brecon Jazz Festival as the UK's third most important jazz venue. Many prestigious artists have played there including Chet Baker, Katie Melua, Jamie Cullum, Ella Fitzgerald, Wynton Marsalis, Nina Simone, Chick Corea and Cassandra Wilson. It was the site of Jimi Hendrix's last live performance. In 1978 the club established the label Ronnie Scott's Jazz House, which issued both live performances from the club and new recordings.
