Sutton Coldfield Town Hall

In October 2016, the day-to-day management of the building transferred to Sutton Coldfield Arts and Recreational Charitable Trust. Formed from a core of local volunteers, the board comprises members from a variety of different professional backgrounds providing us with experts in a number of fields pertinent to ensuring the Town Hall Sutton Coldfield will not be faced again with such financial hardship and uncertainty. We are a registered charity whose principal objective is to benefit the residents of Sutton Coldfield and its surrounding areas by providing facilities for entertainment, education, community gatherings, recreation and leisure activities. Through encouraging the broadest possible use of these facilities and the organisation of a range of events and artistic performance the Trust aims to improve the quality of life and education for the whole community.

Directed by Thom Southerland (Titanic, Parade), choreographed by Karen Bruce (BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, The Bodyguard) and designed by Morgan Large (Newsies, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat), this ravishing award-winning musical is bursting with unforgettable songs by the Sherman Brothers including Toot Sweets, Hushabye Mountain, Truly Scrumptious and of course the Academy Award-nominated title song, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Based on Ian Fleming’s timeless story for children and later made into the famous 1968 film, in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang we meet absent-minded inventor Caractacus Potts who restores a broken-down old racing car with the help of his children Jemima and Jeremy. Soon the family discover the car has magical powers, and along with the delectable Truly Scrumptious and Grandpa Potts, they end up on a fantastical adventure to far off lands. Their heart-warming journey makes Chitty Chitty Bang Bang a fun-filled hit for all the family. Adam Garcia will be appearing from Southampton, up to and including Blackpool. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Strawberry Fields Forever) then finally down the 'Long and Winding Road' to the end of the 1960's, for the Beatles' final live performance as a group (Get Back, Come Together).
