Transmission: The Sound of Joy Division
Devoted to recreating the atmosphere of a live Joy Division gig, Transmission emulate the sound of one of the most inventive, evocative and influential groups of their era. Joy Division were formed in the late 1970s and dissolved in 1980 after the suicide of lead singer Ian Curtis. The remaining members went on to form New Order and have achieved much critical and commercial success. The influence of Joy Division, however, was far reaching. They were considered the pioneering band of the post-punk movement of the late 1970s and early 1980s. Forty three years on you can relive the dark, cavernous sound of Joy Division through Transmission - the UK's number one Joy Division tribute act.

Fat Dog

Fat Dog

1 Nov 2025 - 1 Nov 2025

Fat Dog’s particular brand of chaos seems a fine antidote to the remains of pent-up lockdown frustration. The collective scream has found a mouth; the potential energy has been activated. Joe’s singing, his words slurred and distorted in the time-honoured tradition of delta bluesmen, melds to Jazz’s wordless vocals, high and keening like some punk banshee princess, equal parts Grace Slick and Yoko Ono.

Chantel McGregor

Chantel McGregor

23 May 2025 - 1 Nov 2025

The Blues came calling first, but rock was always waiting around the corner. Well it would be, wouldn’t it? Coming from the deep south, it was inevitable, but living in the deep south of a major Yorkshire City, there’s a gritty hard edge to life! A female guitar prodigy, Chantel was told by a major label that she had a "great voice, but girls don't play guitar like that!" Wisely ignoring their comments, she enrolled at the Leeds College of Music and became the first student in the college’s history, to achieve a 100% pass mark at BTEC, with 18 distinctions. Chantel then pursued further education and left with a First Class Honours degree in Popular Music and a coveted prize, the college’s musician of the year award. Chantel released her highly anticipated second album, Lose Control, in October 2015 on her independent boutique label Tis Rock Music, this being the follow up to her critically acclaimed 2011 debut album, Like No Other.

Jon Gomm

Jon Gomm

1 May 2025 - 30 May 2025

Jon Gomm, based in Leeds, West Yorkshire in the UK, is an acoustic singer-songwriter with a revolutionary virtuoso guitar style, where he uses one acoustic guitar to create drum sounds, basslines and twisting melodies all at the same time. The emphasis is still on the soulful vocals and songwriting, and his original material is influenced by everything from Robert Johnson to Radiohead. His live shows combine deeply personal performances and a natural wit, with a once seen, never forgotten two-handed guitar style, both physical and complex, producing sounds people can barely believe are coming from a humble acoustic guitar. Jon first laid his hands on a guitar at the age of two (actually it was a ukulele - his parents couldn't find a guitar small enough). He wrote his first song at the age of six, and was soon accompanying his father, a music critic, to gigs in his hometown of Blackpool. Touring musicians would often stay at the Gomm household on the understanding Jon would get a guitar lesson, meaning he had one-to-one instruction from such blues legends as BB King and Jack Bruce of Cream. Nowadays, Jon tours worldwide. In January 2012 his song Passionflower went viral online, with the video passing 6 million hits, resulting in national TV appearances in the UK, Portugal, Holland, Brazil and Turkey.

Echo Town

Well known for creating a conscientious party of lyrical chanting, foot stomping, jumping in the air, and bare foot dancing from an elated and loyal audience. The brother duo are resolute in their mission to awaken the masses with music, using the stage as a platform to spread peace, love and unity at a time where they believe music is the most powerful form of expression. They are well known for using their music to raise funds and awareness for organisations such as Sea Shepherd UK and Surfers Against Sewage. Echo Town was truly born in 2015 when they moved to Cornwall, UK from North England, after being inspired by the lifestyle and the surf. Whilst in the North in their younger teen years the brothers dabbled with progressive metal under the name Swamp Donkey. They soon discovered the stoke of surfing on the North-East coast which inspired a more natural and spiritual element to their musical sound, resulting in the renaming of Echo Town. After moving to the South-West in 2015 on a mission to spread their music further they were taken on by The Mojo Hobo Agency and released ‘Be Strong Troop On’ album in Summer 2016, following their release of ‘Come on Over’ in 2011, both of which were produced under Ric’s own label Wood Fire Ash Records. Since joining The Mojo Hobo Agency they have played top festivals and venues all over the UK and mainland Europe. They have had the opportunity to support bands such as My Baby (Netherlands), Xavier Rudd (Australia), Backbeat Sound System (UK), Ferocious Dog (UK), Dreadzone Soundsystem (UK) and Sound of the Sirens (UK). 2018 is set to see a third release from Echo Town. “The ultimate festival band, Newquay-based brothers Ric and Rob Harrison get everyone dancing with their unique mix of slide guitar, djembe, didgeridoo and harmonica… a quintessential Cornish surfing soundtrack” - Cornwall Live “Ric and Rob Harrison produce an avalanche of highly danceable grooves that put a big hippie smile on all our faces. Often mistaken for an eight-piece band on first listen, they are found on stage continuously changing from electric and acoustic guitars, bowed guitar, piano, organ, bass and electronic percussion to vintage synthesisers, omnichord and melodica in a complex choreographed weave of musical moods and textures. One moment their sound is minimal and molecular, the next a mountain-like wall of sound with vast symphonic climaxes. Their four critically acclaimed albums and mesmerising live shows have won them obsessive worldwide fans, plaudits from musical giants and placements on TV commercials and films.
