The 'Warminster Thing' was a series of unexplained events surrounding the Wiltshire town in the 1960s. The events included weird noises, mysterious physical phenomena, lights in the sky, and developed into sightings of physical craft and humanoid beings. The occurrences remain a mystery to this day. Local journalist, Arthur Shuttlewood, gained international recognition as the predominant researcher, and labelled the spate of inexplicable phenomena 'The Thing' and went on to write several books on the mystery.
