Gary Moore Blues Experience Although he left us over ten years ago, Gary Moore is still very much with us… The Gary Moore Blues Experience is dedicated to ensuring that the spirit and passion with which he imbued his music lives on. He wrote and produced a wide range of music in his lifetime, including jazz fusion, Celtic rock, traditional style and modern blues, hard rock, an excursion into disco beat, and ballads and songs consisting of pure melody. The band reproduces the authentic essence of the blues and the power of the blues rock. Also included and accurately rendered are the many famous and unparalleled ballads such as Empty Rooms, Midnight Blues, Parisienne Walkways, Still Got the Blues for You, Story of the Blues, Still in Love with You. Featuring tasteful phrasing as well as incendiary guitar fretwork in tribute to Gary’s inimitable style and technical range, for which he was rightly celebrated, with the tight grooves of the bass and drums that made his bands a standout. Thame Pop Choir - 12th Anniversary Concert
Thame Pop Choirs 12 th Anniversary Concert Thame Pop Choir is delighted to return to the Players Theatre for their 12th Anniversary concert. At its inception in 2014 the choir had 24 members. The current membership is now approximately 60, with new members always welcome. The local community is at the heart of Thame Pop Choir, who have also performed at local clubs and care homes, including Thame Senior Friendship Club, Thame Memories Caf, Chinnor Stroke Club, Meadowcroft Care Home and Cuttlebrook Hall Care Home. In addition, the choir has donated over 10,500 to local and national charities. This performance includes the latest selection from a wide-ranging repertoire of much-loved and popular songs with beautiful harmonies, performed as always with the choirs hallmark energy and enthusiasm and there may be an opportunity to join in too! Tales of Drake, by Nick Wilkes A drink, a fight and tales through the night of piracy, slavery and the world encompassed 1604, and the Pelican Tavern stands at the edge of the Thames near Execution Dock. Here, a former sailor serves a last quart of ale to those found guilty of piracy, before they hang at the scaffold from a shortened rope. Whilst he waits, he recounts his travels and tales of time spent at sea serving under Sir Francis Drake; the Circumnavigation, the massacre at Rathlin Island, his own questionable career on the seas and his dog. In the seemingly quiet town of Bere Knighton there is never a dull moment for Dr Richard Forth. Not only does he have a hectic work schedule and an awkward friendship with his ex-girlfriend, but his wife, Barbara, is constantly ill and nobody knows what is wrong with her. When Eric Dawson, a stranger, claims to have known Richard's second fiancee - a woman Richard claims does not exist - Barbara's health worsens and she isn't the only one. With bad luck spreading almost as quickly as bad news, it seems somebody is out to kill Barbara, and anyone else who gets in their way.
