Leo Middea was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1995 and currently resides in Barcelona, Spain. He is a singer, composer, and instrumentalist. Over his 10-year career, Leo has studio albums, each reflecting different phases of his life and career: Dois (2014), A Dança do Mundo (2016), Vicentina (2020), Beleza Isolar (2020), and Gente (2023). Leo is reinventing Brazilian music by blending traditional genres with influences from diverse cultures. His music has garnered over 10 million plays on Spotify, and his captivating performances have sold out concert halls across Europe and Brazil.

Tinderbox Collective and Granton Youth Mixtape return to Leith Depot on Sunday 11th May with another edition of Support Your Scene! Support Your Scene is a regular open mic night and networking event that helps young people to voice what they need and want from their local music scene. It also gives young people a chance to hear from industry professionals, meet new people, and form new connections for collaboration. Each event includes guest speakers from the industry, workshops about aspects of professional musicianship and is concluded with an open mic which helps us put discussion into action. Please note this gig is for 14+ only.

THE COAL PORTERS were shining lights of the UK Americana and Bluegrass circuit for 17 years before hanging up their instruments in 2018. Led by AMA Award winner Sid Griffin (Long Ryders) and featuring on fiddle Grammy winner and Adele string section leader Kerenza Peacock. They are reuniting for a select number of dates in 2025 including this one! They have featured on NPR's Morning Edition in the USA, live sessions for Bob Harris on BBC Radio 2 and Marc Riley for Radio 6 Music, and appearances at Glastonbury, SXSW and MerleFest. Duo Compass Karoliine-Lisette Kõiv (fiddle and vocals) and Stuart Ironside (guitar and vocals) are a folk duo from Estonia and the U.K., finding links between the Nordic-Baltic region and the British Isles through their tunes and songs. With both of them having feet in multiple musical worlds, they bring music from the Nordic, Baltic and British nations together with grooves from jazz and African music in a cultural melting pot that will inspire. The dance tunes are groovy and the songs will break your heart, you will be amazed at the sounds these two can create. Swelkie Swelkie is the lively Scottish folk trio Dom Blaikie (guitar, voice), Helen Le-Mar (flute), Lewis Williamson (fiddle, voice). Their sets feature original interpretations of traditional music with self-penned tunes flowing into old songs reimagined. The band are named after a tidal whirlpool in the Pentland Firth between mainland Scotland and Orkney. Reflecting their namesake, they are a whirl of musical ideas that pulls in inspiration from our friends across Scotland, Europe and beyond.
