What's On @ St John's Church

Spring Concert of Holst, Korngold and George Lloyd
The orchestra's third concert, on Saturday 28 February 2026 at St John's Waterloo, blends ballet, cinematic romance, and symphonic sweep. Holst's flamboyant Ballet Music from The Perfect Fool opens the evening with otherworldly flair, followed by Erich Korngold's lush and emotionally charged Violin Concerto, performed by the thrilling young soloist Charlie Lovell-Jones. The programme ends with George Lloyd's monumental Symphony No. 4, an expansive and rarely heard work of remarkable depth and grandeur.
Bellow Fellows 10 Year Celebration

Bellow Fellows 10 Year Celebration

13 Mar 2026 - 13 Mar 2026

We are thrilled to welcome you to our tenth anniversary concert. When Bellow Fellows started ten years ago, we wanted to create a space for men to express themselves in song. We couldn't imagine the fantastic community that would emerge out of it. Men from all over London (and some beyond) coming together to sing, sometimes for the first time since they were boys. We're delighted that some of our first members are still singing with us today, as well as all the new faces who have joined along the way. We'll be featuring some of our latest works as well as some of our past favourites. So come join us for an evening of celebration and joy as we close out our first decade and look forward to the next. Date: Friday 13th March 2026 Time: 7:00pm (doors open), 7:30pm (concert starts) Location: St John's Waterloo, Waterloo Road, London, SE1 8TY
Waterloo Ceilidhs - Burns Night Special
Join us for an exhilarating evening of dancing to celebrate Burns Night, in the beautiful St John's Waterloo. We are delighted to be joined by the amazing John Dipper, Hazel Askew and Gareth Kiddier to provide us with beautiful music, with the dance moves led our own Martin Clarke. https://www.johndipper.co.uk/ https://www.hazelaskew.co.uk/ John Dipper and Hazel Askew and Gareth Kiddier are leading performers on the folk scene - multi-instrumentalists but predominently fiddle, melodeon and piano respectively. Hazel plays with BBC Radio 2 Folk Award nominated folk powerhouse Lady Maisery and traditional duo The Askew Sisters, while several of John's recent recording project have featured in The Times Top 10 Folk/Roots albums of the year. Gareth in particular is well-known to Waterloo Ceilidhs, having supported us with sound tech since the start - and he is a hugely talented and experienced folk dance musician, so we're delighted to be able to welcome him to the stage for our January event. This is a fun and inclusive evening of music and dancing. No experience necessary - all the dances are carefully explained. Come with friends or by yourself - it's a great way to meet new people. Bar provided. Waterloo Ceilidhs is a leading ceilidh series at St John's Church, opposite Waterloo station. Featuring some of the country's top ceilidh bands and callers, we bring inclusive and high-energy ceilidhs to the London music scene. Tickets We want to keep our prices affordable, whilst showcasing the country's top ceilidh bands in this wonderful venue in Central London.
