Poetry Without Words

11 Aug 2025 - 11 Aug 2025

Duo Lamorniana Poetry Without Words is a programme with primarily classical and romantic content, in a sense a nod to Schumann's song cycle Dichterliebe, from which songs will be performed in an interpretation for viola and piano, combined with works of the classical, romantic and slightly more modern period. Song is the focus of our performance; we have added Britten's Lacrymae which circles around John Dowland's song If My Complaints Could Passions Move, one of Beethoven's beautiful song-like romances, Pärt's haunting piece Fratres and Weber's cheerful Andante e Rondo Ungarese to the mix.
