The Fureys

The Fureys

5 May 2025 - 19 Apr 2026

Legends of Irish music & song, The Fureys are renowned for their hit songs 'I will love you', 'When you were sweet 16', 'The Green fields of France', 'The old man', 'Red rose café', 'From Clare to here', 'Her father didn't like me anyway', 'Leaving Nancy', 'Steal away' etc The oldest of the brothers, Eddie Furey left home in 1966 and travelled to Scotland at the time of the great folk revival where, with his brother Finbar, he met and shared accommodation with then unknown folk singers Billy Connolly, Gerry Rafferty, Tam Harvey and Alex Campbell. In 1972, Gerry Rafferty wrote 'Her father didn't like me anyway' for Eddie. BBC Radio 1 presenter, the late John Peel made it his single of the year. They are particularly proud of their UK chart success with songs such as I Will Love You and When You Were Sweet Sixteen, which in turn helped bring Irish folk and traditional music to a completely new audience. The band made their Top of the Pops debut in 1981. Eddie Furey recalls how "many musicians have told us we influenced them after hearing a record from their parents or grandparents' collection". Dave Stewart of The Eurythmics has credited Eddie with teaching him his first chords on the guitar while still a teenager. Eddie would return the compliment by joining Dave on stage in Paris for a jam during the latter's wedding to Bananarama's Siobhan Fahey. Their emotive songs stir many emotions, tears and laughter, sadness and joy.
Alfie Moore: A Face for Radio

Alfie Moore: A Face for Radio

17 May 2025 - 11 Jul 2025

Somewhere in a parallel universe little Alfie’s natural comedic performance skills were recognised by his doting parents who encouraged and developed his blossoming talent. After several years as a stage school brat Alfie’s angelic face was launched on stage and screen and the rest is history. Meanwhile, in this universe Alfie Moore was told to stop messing about in class before being ‘encouraged’ into the grinding, grimy world of an apprenticeship in the Sheffield steelworks. When recession hit he traded steel for copper by joining Humberside Police. In his 40s the two universes collided when Alfie made a bid for showbiz success – but unfortunately 30 years of shift-work and being punched in the face quite a lot, had left him with ‘a face for radio’. A face not so much ‘lived in’ as inhabited by a settlement of squatters with little regard to property maintenance and repair. This is the true story of ‘Fair Cop’ Alfie’s big plan to transition from the BBC radio waves to TV star. Could it be done? Or had Father Time decided that his time had passed?

Steve Harley - Come Up And See Me... And Other Stories
A prodigious kid who grew up on the poetry of Eliot and Lawrence, the prose of Steinbeck, Woolf, and Hemingway, and the music of Bob Dylan, Steve Harley soon realised his life would be preoccupied with words and music. He met The Rolling Stones as a kid, and the die was cast. After working as a newspaper reporter, he switched to rock ’n’ roll, enjoying huge success with Cockney Rebel and such hits as Sebastian and the iconic Make Me Smile (Come Up And See Me). Acting off-Broadway and in London, he recorded the title track of The Phantom Of The Opera with Sarah Brightman, while also finding time to write for Rod Stewart, among others, before playing Glastonbury Festival three times, the Isle of Wight festival and receiving numerous awards. And now, it’s time to reflect. Come Up And See Me… And Other Stories, will feature music and stories, as Steve tells stories about his career, while playing acoustic versions of the biggest hits. Steve will be accompanied by long-standing band member Barry Wickens. Steve Harley – Come Up And See Me…And Other Stories Steve has a new book due in 2024, to reflect on a remarkable career that dates back to 1972. From the highs of Cockney Rebel and the enduring hit, Come Up And See Me (Make Me Smile), Steve has seldom left the road. Touring regularly, and successfully, his appeal is undimmed, whether playing the Royal Albert Hall, or provincial theatres clubs. For his new tour, he'll be playing hits, and telling stories about his career, while being joined by his violinist. Meet and Greet available and seats will be the best available.

Esther Manito: Slagbomb

Esther Manito: Slagbomb

25 May 2025 - 27 Feb 2026

Esther’s new show ‘Slagbomb’ takes a nosedive into the awkward sandwich years of life. The phase when youthful freedom gives way to the reality of adult responsibilities. It’s a time when one finds oneself juggling everything from prostate checks to hosing faeces off the garden decking, whilst clad in questionable footwear like crocs. Growing up, Esther imagined she would fulfil all the expectations of a lady, poised and dignified, but looking around she realises that just hasn't happened. Esther's life seems to be a magnet for embarrassing moments and endless cockups. No matter how hard she tries to project sophistication, she often ends up highlighting her unrefined side. Now she wants to embrace her lack of dignity - whether it’s her less-than-graceful posture, cringeworthy encounters with shady drug dealers, or the painful realities of waxing gone wrong. At its core, Esther’s show is an exploration of the challenges and hilarities of navigating the sandwich years, and an invitation to the audience to feel good about the madness in their own lives. After all, she has a Lebanese father dealing with war, a mother dealing with cancer, two kids (who seem to have permanently lost their PE kit), a husband who just wanted some birthday nooky, and a sudden loss of hearing. It’s all part of the messy, chaotic, and often hilarious journey of a right Slagbomb.
