The List

Alexandra Palace

Alexandra Palace was built to be North London's answer to Crystal Palace, and had the great advantage of not being made of, well, glass. It was gutted in a fire only 16 days after opening, but the outside walls still stood and it was soon reconstructed; when the Crystal Palace burned down in 1936, there was nothing left. The Ally Pally was the original home of BBC Television, and still hosts a major radio/TV mast. Since the mid-50s, it's been an entertainment venue (with occasional periods of closure) and has hosted gigs by numerous bands, as well as sporting competitions and other events. The nearest Tube is Wood Green (PIccadilly) and the nearest mainline rail is Alexandra Palace. The Palace is served by the W3 bus route.

Sammy Virji

Sammy Virji

17 Apr 2026 - 18 Apr 2026

Sammy Virji has announced his biggest ever UK headline show at London’s iconic Alexandra Palace on Friday 17th April 2026. The 10,000-capacity venue, one of the capital’s most historic and legendary stages, will play host to the unrivalled energy of a Virji crowd, a milestone moment for the artist at the forefront of UKG’s global resurgence. 2025 has already seen Sammy’s meteoric rise hit new heights: from pulling one of the biggest crowds at Coachella to selling out venues worldwide, alongside recent collaborations with Skepta, Chris Lake, Flowdan, Giggs and more. With his hotly anticipated second album ‘Same Day Cleaning’ landing on 19th September, the Ally Pally show promises to be an unmissable night of high-octane energy and hefty basslines. Sammy is cemented as one of the defining figures in UKG, as the genre takes the world by storm - again. His DJ Mag set from 2023 went extremely viral, propelling him into a new level of fame, not without reason; not only is he a masterful selector, he does it all with a massive smile on his face. He’s gone B2B with Four Tet in Liverpool, been a resident at Radio 1 (including making a renowned Essential Mix for them), and DJ Mag would later nominate him for Best Producer at their Best of British awards. All of this, but he’s not just a sensation in the UK: across the pond, he drew in one of his biggest crowds to date at Forest Hills Stadium, New York, while his last couple of singles have charted as far as New Zealand. His songs have tens of millions of streams each, with ‘If U Need It’ certified Gold, while his Skepta collaboration, the careening banger ‘Cops & Robbers’, made the top 10 in the UK dance charts. 12 Apr 2026 - 12 Apr 2026

Marley was dead: to begin with. This Christmas, the haunting returns. Neil Morrissey, beloved for Men Behaving Badly and Waterloo Road, will appear as Jacob Marley, and Matthew Cottle (Bridgerton and The Windsors), reprises his role as Scrooge. Frozen in time with its beautifully preserved features, the atmospheric Alexandra Palace Theatre is the perfect setting for Dickens’ most enduring Christmas tale. With eerie Victorian special effects and spine-tingling storytelling, prepare to be frightened and delighted in equal measure as you enter the supernatural world of A Christmas Carol. It’s Christmas Eve, and the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge receives a chilling visit from the ghost of his former partner Jacob Marley. Bound in chains for a lifetime of greed, Marley warns Scrooge it isn’t too late to change his fate, but only if he survives three more ghostly encounters…

Public Service Broadcasting

Public Service Broadcasting

23 Aug 2026 - 26 Sept 2026

Public Service Broadcasting have been “teaching the lessons of the past through the music of the future” for more than a decade now. 2013’s debut album Inform – Educate – Entertain used archival samples from the British Film Institute as audio-portals to the Battle of Britain, the summit of Everest and beyond. Two years later, The Race For Space used similar methods to laud the superpowers’ rivalry and heroism in orbit and on the moon. In 2017, joined by voices including Manic Street Preachers’ James Dean Bradfield, Every Valley was a moving exploration of community and memory via the rise and fall of the British coal industry. Pointedly topical in its analyses, it reached number four on the UK charts. For their fourth album, Bright Magic (2021), the band take inspiration from Berlin: “It’s become an album about moving to Berlin to write an album about people who move to Berlin to write an album…”. Heralded as the band’s most varied and cerebral record, Bright Magic is an impressionist portrait of the city from the ground up, less linear and narrative than previous works, combining PSB’s use of electronics and surging guitar rock with sound samples collected in the city itself to realise the dreams of Berlin they’d constructed in their minds.
Enter Shikari

Enter Shikari

13 Nov 2026 - 21 Nov 2026

In early 2003 four standard geezers from St. Albans City, a standard area just north of London, formed a band. They formed a band that they hoped would reignite unity into the music scene and ultimately into people's lives. And this was no hidden agenda as they started by fusing many different genres and styles together to form their own sound. They essentially mould together the passion of hardcore and punk with the passion of euphoria and trance amongst many other influences. Enter Shikari translates from Indian as "Enter the Hunter". The Hunter' is a character in a play Rou wrote before the band even existed, a character that gets used as a metaphor for positive aggression. In life you have to experience the lows to appreciate the highs, right? Shikari is that strength inside all of us, that hauls us out of those lows. Shikari is the hope that gives us the energy to continue and hunt for the panacea to our problems. It is live that you witness such a passion in their performance and music that you can't help but feel involved. They've always encouraged as much crowd participation as possible be it in the form of gang vocals, human pyramids, stage dives/invasions, these four lads have always seen the audience more as a collective fifth member than as a group of spectators. With an incredibly intense stage presence that reflects the euphoric aspects of the music, they are definitely a must see live band. In those three years Enter Shikari never really played any big billed shows (not that they had any choice); they always stuck to playing intimate venues with local bands like themselves. Then in the second half of 2006 things began to take off when they played Download Festival. With the Gibson tent overflowing they rose to the challenge and killed it. The media then began to pay attention. After a few more UK tours, they then became the second ever unsigned band to sell out the London Astoria. They have only ever properly released two singles and chose to make only one of them chart eligible. After four years their debut album 'Take to the Skies' is finally out and they look towards the summer for more touring and festivals.

Empire of the Sun

23 Jun 2026 - 28 Jun 2026

After headlining numerous summer festivals, Empire of the Sun will launch an extensive North American headline tour that will give fans the opportunity to see the Australian band in more intimate settings. The fall outing will launch on September 1 at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC and will include shows at Pier 26 at Hudson River Park in New York City (September 5) and the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles (October 31). See below for itinerary and specific on sale dates. The band is touring in support of its new album, Ice On The Dune (Astralwerks), the follow-up to the 2008 BRIT-nominated, global smash Walking On A Dream. “Alive,” the collection’s first single, is currently No. 1 on Billboard’s Dance/Club Play Songs chart. The “Alive” video – produced by Kelvin Optical, Inc., a division within Bad Robot – has more than five million views. Empire of the Sun made its U.S. television debut on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” last month and kicked off the new monthly Jimmy Kimmel Live Stream concert series thereafter. You can view the band performing “Alive” at http://abc.go.com/shows/jimmy-kimmel-live/video/PL5520981/_m_VDKA0_lxqg3erq. The group will headline the HARD Summer 2013, Made in America, Life is Beautiful and Breakaway festivals. Rolling Stone observed, “they pumped up the jams from their just-released dance-pop tour de force Ice on the Dune with a foggy, laser-laden spectacle to dazzle 4 a.m. candy flippers” in a review of the band’s Bonnaroo set while Billboard noted, “Empire of the Sun's crowd never wavered, and soaked in the gonzo electro-pop act.” “Imagine if the centurion world of ‘Sparta’ was transported into the computer game Tron and then cast the replicants from ‘Blade Runner’ as backup dancers: that might give you some indication of the spectacle of an Empire Of The Sun show,” said MTV Australia, covering the band’s performance at the Sydney Opera House. “[Luke] Steele effortlessly held the audience in the palm of his hand with his theatrical performance.” "Wherever you dance this summer, you will be dancing to this record," said Associated Press in a review of Ice On The Dune “Everything about Empire of the Sun is larger than life: The band name, the futuristic stage personas, the Dune-inspired album art and – most importantly – the music,” said Rolling Stone. In 2008, two of Australia’s leading musician/producers, Luke Steele (The Sleepy Jackson) and Nick Littlemore (Pnau), created a vision that seemed to come from an alternative reality – a post-apocalyptic psychedelic adventure known as Empire of the Sun. The resulting album, Walking on a Dream, went on to sell more than a million copies worldwide and contained the singles “We Are The People,” “Standing on the Shore” and the RIAA certified Gold hit “Walking on a Dream.” The album helped spearhead the then-burgeoning EDM movement and earned eight ARIA awards and two BRIT nominations. The adventure continues with Ice On The Dune, which Steele and Littlemore produced with the Walking on a Dream production team. Joining Empire of the Sun as support on their headline dates are Alpine. The Australian sextet released their debut album A Is For Alpine in May 2013 thru Votiv. The album was awarded iTunes’ Australian Alternative Album of the Year, and has received early critical praise from Rolling Stone, USA Today and NPR, with Pitchfork calling it an “unforgettably light and charismatic gem.” Alpine are known for their energetic live shows featuring the double threat of front-women Phoebe Baker and Lou James on lead vocals.
