Were delighted to announce that Highams Park Jazz Club will be welcoming one of London's finest and most well-known trumpeters, Andy Davies, as the featured artist at our upcoming jam session. Were excited to have him back on our stage! Andy has been a prominent figure in the London jazz scene, renowned for his exceptional talent and having hosted the famous Ronnie Scott's jam sessions on Wednesday nights for an impressive 15 years. For those who have not had the opportunity to watch, listen, or share the stage with this incredible trumpeter, this is a rare chance in Highams Park to experience the magic of performing alongside Andy. For those who may not have attended the Ronnie Scott's jam sessions, we are bringing the essence of Ronnie Scott's to Highams Park just for you. Andy Davies is a Welsh jazz trumpeter with an impressive musical journey. At the London Jazz Festival in 2007, he portrayed the role of Chet Baker in the play "Speedball." Dave Gelly of The Observer describes Andy Davies as having a "lovely trumpet sound," which blossoms in the intimate acoustic setting of a small club. Beyond his musical talents, Andy also serves as a continuity announcer on digital television channels such as 5, Cartoon Network, and ITV. An award-winning British trumpeter, composer, and writer, Andy Davies leads his own band, the Andy Davies Quartet, currently the resident band at the renowned Ronnie Scott's Wednesday night jam session. Andy's latest album, "Rise Of The Spidermonkey," is an explosion of catchy originals and reworked jazz classics, showcasing his savage bebop skills and world-class mastery of the trumpet. Jam Session feat. Nigel Price

Jam Session feat. Nigel Price

25 May 2025 - 25 May 2025

We are very excited to welcome renowned jazz guitarist Nigel Price back to our stage in 2025! One of the UK's most respected jazz musicians, Nigel is known for his exceptional talent and captivating performances. This is a rare opportunity to see and/or play with him at our biweekly jam session, where you can enjoy an incredible evening of live jazz, whether you're joining in or just listening. Over a career spanning more than 25 years, award winning jazz guitarist Nigel Price has become widely acknowledged as one of the hardest working musicians in the business. Musically, his blend of flowing bebop lines, deep blues sensibility and his mastery of chording continue to delight audiences and fellow musicians alike. His career highlights include a support show for Gladys Knight at The Royal Albert Hall and an appearance on Van Morrison's recent album Keep Me Singing. Starting his professional career in his early 20s, Nigel toured Europe with various reggae and funk bands before settling on a solo guitar career and turning his attention to jazz. Citing early influences as Wes Montgomery, Joe Pass, John McLaughlin and the Mahavishnu Orchestra, Nigel honed his craft by attending gigs and sitting in with the players of the time. Nigel has played on more than 50 albums including 5 as a leader, spent ten years with acid jazz outfit The Filthy Six, was a member of James Taylor's band for 3 years (with whom he recorded 5 albums) and performed with the legendary David Axelrod. He has also taught at The International Guitar Foundation at King's Place, London. He has worked tirelessly to organise his own tours (including a 56 date tour in late 2016) and has picked up a Parliamentary Jazz Award (Best Jazz Ensemble, 2010), a nomination for a British Jazz Award (Best Guitarist, 2014) and a British Jazz Award (Best Guitarist, 2016) along the way. Nigel is a regular performer at London's Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club where he has made more than 500 appearances. He released his fifth Organ Trio Album Heads & Tales Volume 2 in late 2016 to great critical acclaim. 8 Jun 2025 - 8 Jun 2025

Were excited to announce that Brigitte Beraha, one of the UK's most celebrated jazz vocalists and composers, will be joining us as a guest artist at our jam session on 8th June! This is a fantastic opportunity to not only watch her perform but to share the stage with her and make music together. Dont miss this special evening! Brigitte Beraha, improvising vocalist and composer, is one of the leading talents on the UK jazz scene. She has recorded a number of critically acclaimed albums embracing original contemporary jazz and the core jazz and latin repertoire; the latest two under her name, By the Cobbled Path (a solo work) and Blink (with her Lucid Dreamers quartet), both venture into the realms of electronic exploration and spoken word. She is increasingly involved in exciting cross-genre projects, such as the recreation of Basil Kirchin's music as part of Hull City of Culture 2017 or Raising Hell with Henry Purcell led by Ethan Iverson at Kings Place in 2018, cementing her reputation as a truly versatile artist with a huge range of experience and creative scope. If such a thing as perfect singing exists, Brigitte Beraha, on her own terms, is surely getting even closer to it. Seb Scotney, UK Jazz News Im a big fan of the vocalist Brigitte Beraha.
