Chris Difford in Concert -'Not Only But Also'
Wokingham Music Club are delighted to announce a show featuring legendary Squeeze co-founder and songwriter Chris Difford. Being on tour is something Chris really enjoys, seeing people and being with people is part of his experience as a performer. Chris will be playing songs from the Squeeze catalogue and from his solo albums he has recorded over the last 23 years. His story is told through stand up and some sit down, a trip back to his council estate in South London, from his very first lyrical expression to the dressing rooms of this show. His new songs written with Boo Hewerdine tell a story of celebration, 25 years writing lyrics and playing on stages big and small. A journey he look back on with great fondness and gratitude. He cant wait to climb back on stage and perform for you at Wokingham Music Club He may have been shy in the past he now find himself feasting on the here and now deep within the shell like of your ear. He will be joined on stage by a pedal steel player who is no strange to our club have played for us as part of Los Pacaminos Chris and Melvin Duffy will deliver an evening of warm and funny stories. 'Not Only But Also' is not just a look back on 50 lyrical years, it's a journey that asks, What Happened? Please join us for St Sebastian Wokingham Brass Band's Summer Concert. This year we'll be performing plenty of well known pieces with the first half themed on Celtic Music, and the second half including many hits by the legendary band, Queen. 12 - adults 6 - children (aged 3-18) Free - infants on laps (aged 0-2)

At Wokingham Choral society we're excited to invite you to join us for our uplifting Summer Concert. You will hear Parry's joyful "I was glad"; the stirring " Insanae et vanae curae" by Haydn; the beautiful "Geistliches Lied" by Brahms; Handel's rousing " Zadok the Priest", and Mozart's majestic "Coronation' Mass". In fact this concert will showcase some of our favourite choral hits. These choruses and arias will be guaranteed to stir the heart and have you humming the melodies for days afterwards Our choir will be conducted with flair by George de Voil, and the talentedBed Giddens will be supporting the singing on organ and piano. We will also be joined by some gifted young soloists. Our venue will be the beautiful refurbishedAll Saints Church in Wokingham town centre, where the acoustic is magical and the seating is comfortable. PARKING As you enter Peach Street you can take the 2nd turning on the left (Easthampstead Road) to find a large car park a short way down on your left. Parking here costs 1 for the whole evening after 6pm.
