As a singer and lead guitarist in rock band Gomez, Ben Ottewell is well known for his unmistakable voice and talent for blistering and inspired guitar solos. Ottewell released his first solo album Shapes & Shadows (ATO) in 2011, featuring such beautiful acoustic tunes as 'Blackbird', 'Shapes and Shadows' and 'Take This Beach', which appeared on FX’s Sons of Anarchy. Since then, Ottewell has been pleasing audiences with a series of successful solo tours across the UK, US and Australia.

Hailing from the midlands and west of Ireland, the trio take inspiration from artists such as John Prine, Paolo Nutini, Ye Vagabonds, Talos, as well as others, and despite being in their infancy, they have already gained a strong core following from playing intimate live gigs.

Over three studio albums and nearly a decade, Wirral-born Louisa Roach has built She Drew The Gun into a project that fully lives up to its incendiary name. A place for Roach to explore a visceral musical world informed by influences ranging 80's electronica, hip-hop, political poetry, and cosmic scouse psychedelia epitomised by hometown heroes The Coral (whose lead singer James Skelly took her under his wing during She Drew The Guns early days), lyrically its found her taking aim at the wild injustices she was persistently seeing in the world at large, decrying corrupt conservative governments and rallying for a more empathetic way of living.

Damien Dempsey’s voice is Dublin yet wholly distinctive, almost clichéd to say it, but he is part of a rich bloodline of Irish singers from Luke Kelly to Ronnie Drew, Christy Moore to Andy Irvine. Their kin outside Ireland are Springsteen and Guthrie, Dylan and Marley. On his latest album Almighty Love, Dempsey’s sense of place reaches out beyond Donaghmede and North Bull Island, where he first performed in public as a teenager, across the Irish Sea and further afield.

Welly is an extraordinary character with a remarkable literary way of describing himself, his band and society. A square peg in the round hole of suburban life, Welly embraced his difference from an early age and went onto channel his observations on suburbia into songs. Whip-smart, playful, funny and terrifyingly smart pop songs to be precise. He then set about finding the perfect vehicle to pedal his wares and so formed a band and delivered a debut album bursting with democratised pop music for people that feel fun in the charts stopped at Love Machine by Girls Aloud.

Bossa Nova = Nouvelle Vague = New Wave. This transliteration was the starting point for Marc Collin and Olivier Libaux’s unique project, which, by appropriating the punk and post-punk cannon and running it through the Bossa Nova filter, reinvented the cover band genre, revealing new and brilliant talents along the way: Camille, Phoebe Killdeer, Nadeah, Mélanie Pain, and Liset Alea. The group’s first two albums, Nouvelle Vague (2004) and Bande A Part (2006) defined their unique sound with Bossa versions of New Wave Classics. Their third album NV3 (2009) featured collaborations with Depeche Mode's Martin Gore, Ian McCullouch from Echo and the Bunnymen, Terry Hall from The Specials, Barry Adamson, The Saints & Minimal Compact.

Singer-songwriter Will Varley has come a long way since his early days haunting the open mics of South London and busking around on The Underground. Over the past few years, Will has toured relentlessly across Europe and America as a support act for Billy Bragg, Frank Turner, Valerie June, and The Proclaimers and he's sold out his own headline shows in cities as far afield as Berlin, Zurich, Amsterdam and Vienna. High praise from the likes of Tim Minchin and Simon Nicol of Fairport Convention have helped fan the flames, as his audience continues to grow both on the road and online.

Rose City Band’s country psychedelic rock evokes the wide-open spaces of the American west and the free spirits who call it home. The project of acclaimed guitarist and vocalist Ripley Johnson, Rose City Band has extended beyond the studio and lives in tandem as a live ensemble featuring some of the finest players in contemporary rock: pedal steel guitarist Barry Walker, keyboardist Paul Hasenberg, bassist Dewey Mahood (aka Plankton Wat) and drummer Dustin Dybvig. Their latest record, Garden Party, is a celebration of summer and all it brings: communal gatherings, the respites offered by nature, and an appreciation for even the simplest beauty. Freedom, contentment, and joy were the sources for the songs. From the soaring guitar solos to the driving rhythms, the elegant pedal steel lines to the organ grooves, Garden Party has a live band’s energy captured in exquisite detail. Like all great music, Garden Party takes listeners to their happy place – their sunny spot. The album is an invitation to recalibrate, a joyous ride where the band’s sounds surround and embrace you.

The Devil Makes Three is an American band. They formed and remain based in Santa Cruz, California. They play a brand of acoustic music known to some as folk punk. It encompasses a blend of bluegrass, old time music, country, folk, blues, ragtime, and rockabilly. The group''s members are guitarist Pete Bernhard, upright bassist Lucia Turino, and guitarist and tenor banjo player Cooper McBean.

We Are Scientists is a New York-based indie rock band that formed in Berkeley, California in 2000. Originally formed of Keith Murray on drums, Chris Cain playing bass guitar and Scott Lamb providing vocals and guitar, before Michael Tapper became drummer and Keith became vocalist and guitarist. The band's breakthrough success came with their second album With Love and Squalor which sold 100,000 copies in the first 6 months. Their second success was with Brain Thrust Mastery which charted at 11 in the UK album chart, with two top 40 singles "After Hours" and "Chick Lit." Their fourth album, Barbara, was released in the UK on the 14th June 2010. Also, they are starring in their own television short Steve Wants His Money.

Since forming in 1997 Toploader have over two million album sales to their name and a string of top 20 hits both home and abroad. Their debut album ‘Onka’s Big Moka,‘ sold over one million copies and remained in the Top 5 of the UK album chart for over six months earning them 4 Brit Award nominations. In 2000 the single ‘Dancing in the Moonlight’ became a global hit spending over a year in European Airplay Charts transforming Toploader into a household name. In 2013 the same track re-entered the Top 40 for three weekends topped the 10,000,000 hits mark on Youtube, an incredible thirteen years after it was first released, cementing it as one of the biggest songs of recent times.

Young British guitarists Mikhail Asanovic and Jake Wright, together known as The Showhawk Duo, have dazzled audiences worldwide with their spectacular approach to playing the guitar. Their playing style has broken down barriers between acoustic and electronic music. They have re-thought traditional musical structure creating their own all-encompassing genre. Whether Playing old-school trance classics or modern funky house, their live show knows no boundaries and will leave you amazed. Mik is a classically trained guitarist having studied at Manchester's RNCM. Jake is an electric junkie and grew up playing in rock and metal bands. Mik's classical foundation shines through in the music with Jake's raw percussive approach always keeping the crowd moving. Together they create a truly unique and impressive sound, and have turned many "acoustic" nights into a thumping rave. Together, they started out as buskers and have since gone on to play all over the globe. They have performed at most of the UK's large festivals including Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party, Kendal Calling, Bournemouth 7's, and Electric Picnic. They have had sell-out shows at Edinburgh Fringe, and had numerous radio broadcasts for BBC. International performances include shows in the seychelles, club tours in Spain, Switzerland and the Netherlands and a residency at Pacha in Ibiza. this dazzling duo are sure to rock your socks off.

The story began when three Stornoway Cove's (Innes, Uilly and Boydie) met up in the house to have the craic on a Saturday night playing music with just the dog and the cat watching. After a few tunes getting thrown across the room Boydie stated muttering a few sentences. As he is a man of few words no attention was really given to him until he shouted 'Quick, line me out!' Not a second to spare a set of old broken headphones were cable tied to a guitar amp and out came a few cobwebs followed shortly after with a sound nobody had ever heard before. What came next was five gallons of lyrics, verse after verse, song after song Peat & Diesel was born! The songs won't make much sense to the average person, but the person behind the lyrics isn't your average man so if you have a listen and you can relate to it you are a special breed! Peat & Diesel Light my Byre takes you on a journey to the heart of the Western Isles, where #peatlemania was born. Emerging from Wigan, Stanleys are the next in a long line of illustrious musicians to emerge from the North Western town. Bands and artists ranging from George Formby Senior and Junior to The Verve, Starsailor to The Lathums are proud to call Wigan home, eventually taking their poignant songwriting across the rest of the country and Stanleys are set to follow in their footsteps.

At just 19-years-old she took the brave decision to perform her self-penned hit ‘Last Night (Beer Fear)’ on the X Factor and secured a Top 20 single and Top 30 self-released album whilst still competing in the show. That journey resulted in her becoming the most Googled musician of 2012. Through relentless touring, her innate songwriting ability and an ever growing fanbase, Lucy has now achieved an incredible 5 consecutive Top 30 albums. ‘Today Was A Good Day’ marked a new chapter for Lucy musically and personally. Produced by Jon Maguire (Calum Scott, Kodaline), Lucy sounds at her most confident and accomplished. Now the journey continues with her biggest tour of the UK and Ireland playing at 32 different venues.

When he's not been on the road with his band Amsterdam for The Plough Tour, he was appearing as special guest for Elvis Costello & The Imposters on their "Boy Named If" tour. The Virginmarys are an English rock duo from Macclesfield, England. The band formed in 2009 as a trio and self-released a limited series of sold out EPs, before releasing their debut album King of Conflict on DoubleCross/Cooking Vinyl and Wind Up Records in February 2013.

New York group the Pains of Being Pure at Heart started out following the classic indie pop formula of pairing romantic, hooky songwriting with neurotic fuzz guitar. Principle songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist Kip Berman's particular knack for complex melodies and emotionally resonant songwriting helped the band stand out, and they evolved from scrappy noise pop beginnings to slicker, stadium-ready production by the time of their fourth album, 2017's The Echo of Pleasure.

Look to the East, Look to the West, the new album by Camera Obscura, is a revelation. The Tracyanne Campbell-led outfit, reuniting with producer Jari Haapalainen (Let's Get Out of This Country, My Maudlin Career), have crafted an album that simultaneously recalls why longtime fans have ferociously loved them for decades while also being their most sophisticated effort to date. It is also the most hard-fought album of Camera Obscura's career. Following the 2015 passing of founding keyboardist and friend Carey Lander (to whom the penultimate track Sugar Almond is addressed), the band went into an extended hiatus. They remained in contact, but their status was uncertain until they announced their return, having been invited to perform as part of Belle & Sebastian's 2019 Boaty Weekender cruise festival, along with a pair of sold-out warm-up shows in Glasgow. Donna Maciocia (keys and vocals) joined founding members Kenny McKeeve (guitar and vocals), Gavin Dunbar (bass), and Lee Thomson (drums and percussion) for those shows and has since become a regular songwriting partner of Campbell's. Recorded in the same room where Queen wrote Bohemian Rhapsody, Look to the East, Look to the West feels big, a widescreen reframing of Camera Obscura's sound that, paradoxically, saw the band go back to basicsthere are no string or brass arrangements, with more emphasis placed on piano, synthesizers, Hammond organ, and drum machines, and, perhaps most strikingly, the group have dropped the veil of reverb that characterized their previous albums. The tinges of country and soul that give Camera Obscura's baroque take on pop music its bittersweet edge have never been more apparentguitars shimmer into the distance, keys haunt, and Campbell's voice searches for the heart, reflecting on love, loss, and the passage of time. Lead single Big Love relishes in the space between country rock and prog, a pining break-up anthem featuring the soaring pedal steel of Tim Davidson. It's a Nashville Sound heartbreaker, tackling the complexity of wanting to rekindle a bad relationship with Campbell's uncanny ability to render the past: It was a big love, she said / That's why it took ten years to get her out of her head, she begins.

Building on the lo-fi, sparse aesthetic of his early work as Smog toward the lush instrumentation and masterly command of structure (and beautiful production) evidenced on his latest records, Bill Callahan has released consistently excellent albums for two decades. He can safely be spoken of as one of America’s great songwriters. His songs have been covered by Gil Scott Heron, Cat Power and the Flaming Lips, and featured in films such as 'High Fidelity'. Emotive and beautifully arranged, 2009’s “Sometimes I wish we were an Eagle” is a great gateway to Bill. It’s fair to say that the snare sound here is exquisite! Before starting to release music under his own name in 2007, Bill Callahan recorded as Smog. Sample lyric: “My foolish heart had to go diving… diving, diving into the murk”… Support comes from Cath and Phil Tyler Cath & Phil Tyler play Anglo-American folk music using guitar, banjo, voice and fiddle. Cath was a member of the band Cordelia’s Dad in the 1990s when she lived in Massachusetts, USA. Phil, from Newcastle upon Tyne has played in various folk, rock and ceilidh bands for many years. Coming together musically through a shared love of traditional narrative song, full voiced sacred harp singing and sparse mountain banjo, they have performed on stages great and small, from the Royal Opera House in London to the Morden Tower in the old city walls of Newcastle.

Cut to four years later, with over 3 million cross-platform streams and 400k TikTok followers the band are ready to take on the world They released two EPs through Slam Dunk Records Born on The Internet in 2022, followed by Complaining (but There Is Music) in 2023, the latter of which included the track (Not a) Love Song, featuring Noahfinnce. Fresh from finishing their Busted arena support to over 200k people and a headline tour of their own to round out a sublime 2023, armed with new music, a new member and a new name, they plan to clean up in 2024! Stereo MCs formed in mid 80s, inspired by electronic music and early HipHop. They pressed up their first 12 vinyl and started an independent record label called G Street Records which released many UK hip hop artists and signed US acts such as Jungle Brothers.

The South are an impressive 9-piece band that features former members of The Beautiful South, including singer Alison Wheeler and lifelong sax player Gaz Birtles. They play the songs made famous by The Beautiful South and bring back the full flavour and arrangements with this exciting live band. The South are keeping alive all those timeless songs such as A Little Time, Perfect 10, Rotterdam, Old Red Eyes is Back, Good as Gold, Don’t Marry Her, plus many more singles and album track; these songs span an impressive 20-year career starting way back in 1989!

Dystopian. That’s the first adjective anyone ever used to describe south London auteur Heartworms, after the project was brought to life by its architect Jojo. Heartworms is the conduit for Jojo’s entire identity – her laying down a purposefully discomforting challenge to the outside world but also affirming her own self and passions (Jojo has just taken a volunteering role at The Royal Air Force Museum in Hendon) and the poetry of Pound, Thomas, and Keats. Backed by a full live band, Heartworms’ performances are a masterclass in poise. Jojo describes the theatre brought to her shows - punctuated by her intense stare - as a kick back against preconceived notions of ‘smallness’ and fragility as a female musician. On stage, her projection is the very antithesis: we see an artist who is big, powerful, in total control. Uniformity plays a huge role in all things Heartworms, too. The metronomic music and meticulous fashion of bands like Interpol and Kraftwerk greatly inspires Jojo, as does PJ Harvey, whose dark sense of humour and lyrical dexterity permeates Heartworms’ songwriting.

Starting his musical journey aged five in Paris, Cian Godfrey (aka Somebody’s Child) took to playing the piano in the family apartment. Upon moving back to Ireland, he gained an interest in songwriting, enabling him to tell his own stories. These narratives often reflect upon difficult mental health experiences, as well as the endearing happenings of a youngster growing up in Dublin.

The band formed of former Fall members from various eras of the legendary bands existence, have always been more than simply a continuation of their past musical endeavours. More of an open community to all ex Fall-ers, centred around a core line up, House of All have now bolstered their already mighty fine line up by creating a three drummer strong rhythm section, taking it in turns to play on various tracks.

For as much as Better Lovers represents the union of former Every Time I Die members Jordan Buckley [guitar], Steve Micciche [bass], and Clayton “Goose” Holyoak [drums] with The Dillinger Escape Plan frontman Greg Puciato [vocals], and musician (Fit For An Autopsy/END) and GRAMMY® Award-winning producer, Will Putney [guitar], it really cements the bond of five friends around a shared vision. That vision is as uncompromising, unapologetic, and undeniable as anything they’ve individually done, yet it’s refined by experience and a commitment to a future together. They’re in it for the long haul. Jordan ended up back in Buffalo, NY, jamming with Steve and Goose during the winter of 2022. After working with Will on the last two Every Time I Die records, they shared a handful of early demos with him to produce. As the year progressed, Jordan caught Greg on the road with Jerry Cantrell in Las Vegas, mentioning the new music. Once ideas solidified, he shared them with the vocalist who replied at 3 am one night in December.

Flyte is a London-based band formed by Will Taylor (vocals, guitar) and Nick Hill (guitar, bass, vocals), who met at secondary school. The band's name comes from Sebastian Flyte, a character in Evelyn Waugh's Brideshead Revisited. Flyte's music is known for its literary influences and storytelling, with harmonies reminiscent of The Byrds and The Beatles.

Liverpudlian four-piece Crawlers have had a whirlwind 12 months. The alt-rock band have become synonymous with an eclectic brand of music combining grunge, rock, pop and indie into a sound packed full of attitude and socially conscious lyricism. An attitude that has seen the band explode on social media, recent single ‘Come Over (Again)’ going viral upon release.

Detroit's Slum Village have carried the old-school, funk, and soul-filled hip-hop torch of genre pioneers A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, and the Pharcyde. The group debuted in the early '90s as Ssenepod, later changing their name to Slum Village for the release of their debut album.
