Erland Cooper

5 Dec 2025 - 5 Dec 2025

Erland Cooper: Carve the Runes Then Be Content With Silence Erland Cooper is a Scottish composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist originally from Stromness, Orkney. As a solo artist, he has released five acclaimed studio albums, including a trilogy of work inspired by his childhood home, as well as themes of nature, people, place and time. His work combines field recordings with traditional orchestration and contemporary electronic elements. Through music, words and cinematography he explores landscape, memory and identity. He develops these themes further by partnering with other artists, writers and poets. Cooper also works across mixed media projects including installation art, theatre and film. He’s widely known for burying the only existing copy of the master tape of his first classical album in Scotland, deleting all digital files and leaving only a treasure hunt of clues for anyone to seek it. The tape was found in 2023 and the album will be released, exactly as it sounds from the earth, this year along with its world premiere of the completed score. Presented by Hey! Manchester. Moonchild Sanelly

Moonchild Sanelly

29 Aug 2025 - 7 Oct 2025

Determinedly doing things her own way and standing up for what she believes in has long been ingrained in the psyche of trailblazing South African musician Moonchild Sanelly, whose drive to succeed has been fuelled by personal pain and trauma. Growing up in Port Elizabeth with a hip-hop producer brother and a mum who would put her onstage from a young age to compete in dance competitions, Sanelisiwe Twishas music-filled childhood was full of creativity. Whether it was self-choreographing dance routines to Spice Girls tracks, teaching herself to play the piano, singing at church with her family, or starting to write poetry, expression and being artistically free was always encouraged.

Patch Presents 'push.to.play'

23 Oct 2025 - 23 Oct 2025

'push.to.play' is a celebration of the creative community at the University of Sussex, curated by student collective PATCH. In the auditorium, experience an explosive live display of experimental music, visuals and performance from students and alumni, featuring improvised sets from sound artist and producer Furrowed, electronic duo Noise Peddler and Robinson's Village, the ambient project of James Burns. In the Café Bar, we invite you to a DIY open-mixer sandbox where you can play with some of the gear featured in the show. We aim for this pilot event to provide a platform to meet like-minded people and encourage collaboration with others. We want participants to feel part of a community and experience what can be achieved through curiosity and play. This inaugural event held at ACCA, a dynamic creative arts space here on the University of Sussex campus, is designed for everyone to engage at some level. University of Sussex students, staff and alumni are encouraged to join us to experiment, try something new and come away feeling inspired and motivated by their own creative potential. About PATCH PATCH is a growing collective committed to producing an event that excites and inspires curiously inclined individuals. They are particularly focused on creating a space for students to interact with creative technology and express enthusiasm for how we can push the boundaries of live performance. 'exxy' By Dan Daw Creative Projects
A Queer, crippled dance artist on the rise, feeling the pressure to stay at the top of his game. Exxy (Aussie slang for “that’s expensive mate”) is about imposter syndrome and fluctuating self worth. Set against the backdrop of the Australian outback, Exxy takes us back to where Dan Daw began - working class, with very little - to reflect on how far he has come. Joined by three performers who walk and talk like him, through movement and text, they confront and negotiate the meaning of their own value together. In their company, Dan is comforted by the possibility of finally blending in after a lifetime of standing out. Audacious, uncertain, and tender, Dan grapples with the tension between his all-consuming self-doubt and living in the world fearlessly. Co-commissioned by Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts, Battersea Arts Centre, Transform, Take Me Somewhere and Tramway for the New Dimensions commission. Additionally co-commissioned by Fabric, Kampnagel, Sadlers Wells, SICK! Festival and Les Halles. Supported by Arts Council England and Cockayne 10th Anniversary Grants for the Arts. R&D supported by an Unlimited Strategic Award 2023. Co-produced by Battersea Arts Centre. Image by Hugo Glendinning Presented by Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts. This is a 14+ event

Cabaret Voltaire (plus Support)

22 Nov 2025 - 22 Nov 2025

Stephen ‘Mal’ Mallinder and Chris Watson have added this Brighton date to their sold out autumn tour marking 50 years of Cabaret Voltaire live. This tour celebrates half a century since Cabaret Voltaire, one of Britain’s most influential and pioneering electronic bands, first performed live at the Sheffield Students Union Refectory on 13 May 1975. In the current climate of social turmoil and political manipulation, and the prescient work of Cabaret Voltaire continues to be necessary. The sounds, words, images and films of the band still resonate loudly, continuing to challenge the status quo. The 50 year anniversary shows will curate this essential work and to acknowledge the timeless energy and to mark the continuing significance and power of what Cabaret Voltaire achieved. Original members Chris Watson and Stephen Mallinder are committed to staying true to the enduring vision of Cabaret Voltaire. The performance will cover the arc of their formidable output, from early experiments and the first Rough Trade / Factory releases, through the band's Doublevision video label and into the work with renowned producers such as Adrian Sherwood and Marshall Jefferson. "It’s impossible to overstate how ahead of their time 'the Cabs' were. Regularly crowned the godfathers of the Sheffield scene, inspiring a wave of late 1970s groups such as the Human League." Moin (plus Support)

29 Oct 2025 - 29 Oct 2025

"In a world already in disarray, Moin invites us to own the chaos and wear it like a badge of honour." The Quietus "Moin are masters of capturing the kinetic." Resident Advisor Moin are a London-based three-piece featuring Tom Halstead and Joe Andrews of the electronic outfit Raime, alongside visionary percussionist Valentina Magaletti. Their music recontextualizes a range of guitar-based genres-grunge, shoegaze, and post-rock-through an enigmatic reimagining of the traditional band dynamic. Employing both conventional and unique compositional techniques, their sound is marked by a visceral immediacy that comes to life in full force during their live performances. Their third album You Never End, released in October 2024 on AD 93, marks Moin’s shift into a new phase with vocal collaborations across the album from Olan Monk, James K, Coby Sey and Sophia Al-Maria. Moin walk the line between the reassuringly familiar and the unsettlingly inquisitive. Presented by Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts. This is a 14+ event
