The Selecter is led by their iconic frontwoman Pauline Black and co-fronted by original member Arthur ‘Gaps’ Hendrickson. Founded in 1988 by Alex Paterson and The KLF member Jimmy Cauty, membership of The Orb has been fluid over the years, with Paterson remaining the only constant throughout. The Orb released their fifteenth studio album, ‘No Sounds Are Out of Bounds’, in 2018 via Cooking Vinyl. Dub Pistols are a London based dub music and big beat band, founded by ex-club promoter, Barry Ashworth, in 1996. The other members of the band were record producer and bassist Jason O'Bryan, Brooklyn producer and lyricist, T. K. Lawrence on vocals, Jap Slt guitarist John King, and turntablist DJ Stix / Steve Hunt. Guest songwriters and vocalists include Blade, James Dewes Sheffield (JMS), Rodney King and Terry Hall. In 2008 Dan Bowskill joined the band.

Progressive Jazz Rock Legends Colosseum will be on the road again with a new line-up consisting of original frontman Chris Farlowe, guitarist Clem Clempson and bassist Mark Clarke. Formed in 1968 by Jon Hiseman and Dick Heckstall-Smith after leaving the Graham Bond Organization and John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, Colosseumreleased their debut LP Those Are About To Die Salute You in 1969. Later the same year they became the first act to release an LP, Valentyne Suite, on the collectible Vertigo record label who went on to release records by Black Sabbath and Status Quo amongst others. Colosseum went on to release a further two LP's before splitting in 1971. Band members went on to join bands such as Humble Pie, Atomic Rooster, Greenslade and more.

Maclean Daniel Ayres, better known as Mac Ayres, is an American R&B singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist.

Allo Darlin' were formed in 2008 after Australian Elizabeth Morris arrived in London and bought a ukulele from the Duke of Uke shop in Shoreditch. Like a whole host of Australian musicians before her, Morris had headed to London to realise her musical ambitions, a young woman with the small instrument in the big city with even bigger ideas. From frosty night buses through to fiscal inadequacy and everything in between, it was an album which presented the city as a blank canvas where everything was fair game for romanticising and celebrating, and a world where most of life's tribulations could be solved with the warm embrace of a loved one. The Herbaliser Band Live in London for ONE night ONLY! Formed in London during the early 1990s, the band's core members Jake Wherry and Ollie Teeba were inspired by soul, funk and in particular the then current hip hop emerging from America. Unfortunately, at that time, they didn't know any rappers. They made up for this missing element by adopting an extra ingredient to fill the absence; a widescreen cinematic feel born of vivid imagination. The spy thrillers, westerns and detective shows of the duo's 1970s youth would be plundered for inspiration and translated to vinyl by what would soon become their trademark, an explosive and extensive live band. But this template was set long before the convening of that large ensemble.

She comes from Machynlleth, Wales, where rivers and roads meet on the way to the sea. Cerys has won over audiences from Green Man to the Eisteddfod and from BBC 6 Music Festival to Celtic Connections with her magical, progressive sound. Her second album Edyf was selected as one of The Guardian’s Top Ten albums of 2022, as well as receiving wide-spread media attention and critical acclaim.

Vieux is the son of legendary Malian guitar player Ali Farka Touré. His father was wary of his son's desire to become a musician due to the pressures he had experienced within the industry. But with help from family friend, the kora maestro Toumani Diabaté, Ali gave Vieux his blessing to follow in his footsteps, shortly before he passed. Vieux Farka Touré heads up a new generation of Malian desert blues. An accomplished multi-instrumentalist, Vieux has reshaped the music his father was renowned for, combining funk, reggae and jam music with the desert-blues genre.

Legendary Irish folk music band Dervish, are one of Ireland's best known traditional bands and are described by the BBC as “an icon of Irish music”. Dervish received a prestigious lifetime achievement award from the BBC in 2019, a fitting tribute to the band after over 30 years of recording and performing all over the world, playing at festivals from Rio to Glastonbury. Dervish have a line-up which includes some of Ireland’s finest traditional musicians, fronted by one of the country’s best-known singers, Cathy Jordan. Regarded by many as the most distinctive voice and finest front-woman in Irish traditional music today - the instrumental line-up of fiddle, flute, bouzouki, mandola, bodhran and accordion draw from seemingly limitless depths of talent, finesse, subtlety and fiery energy. Exceptional musicianship, breath-taking vocals, vibrant sets of tunes and instantly compelling songs all come together to make Dervish as complete a band as are to be found anywhere in the tradition.

Originating from Chicago before studying guitar and songwriting at the Thornton School of Music, and now based in Los Angeles, NoSo’s music deals with the alienation that comes at the intersection of his different identities. The stage name of NoSo itself comes from a question he’d get growing up in a largely white neighborhood (“North or South Korean?”) While he became known in LA for his talent with guitar, he ultimately decided to pursue writing his own deeply personal music. This is as personal as anything else he’s made.

Born into a musical family (his father is the singer Chip Hawkes, formerly with the 1960s band The Tremeloes), Chesney Hawkes’ own career began at 19, when he appeared as the title character in the film “Buddy’s Song” alongside Roger Daltrey. He is best known for releasing the hit single The One And Only, from the film’s soundtrack. Written by another Jack Up The 80s favourite Nik Kershaw, who appeared at the event last year, the song was later featured in the opening credits of Doc Hollywood (1991), starring Michael J. Fox.

Pianist Fergus McCreadie’s trio is among the leaders of the exciting young wave currently energising the vibrant and creative Scottish jazz scene. A phenomenal technician, McCreadie has developed a deeply personal style that captures Scotland’s musical traditions and landscapes while honouring his American and Nordic influences. His trio with David Bowden (bass) and Stephen Henderson (drums) has already made a impression in the UK, winning the coveted Peter Whittingham Jazz Prize in 2016, and its debut album, Turas, as well as reaching the shortlist for the Scottish Album of the Year Award 2019, a rare feat for a jazz group, won Best Album at the Scottish Jazz Awards 2019. Their concerts, highlighting their thrilling virtuosity, brilliantly attuned collective dynamism and their music’s huge emotional charge, have earned five-star reviews and invitations to appear at London jazz mecca Ronnie Scotts’ International Piano Trio Festival as well as Oslo and Stockholm jazz festivals.

Ashley Henry is a hip hop and jazz pianist from South London. One of a new generation of musicians that have been raised with a wide range of influences, Ashley is clearly influenced by hip-hop but has his roots firmly in jazz. Having embarked on world tours with Loyle Carner and Christine & The Queens, Henry has a growing international profile.

Tops were formed in Montreal when song-writing duo David Carriere and Jane Penny decided to join forces with drummer Riley Fleck. Since then they have become one of the most influential underground bands of the past decade, creating a space for sophisticated pop music in the indie world. Their tendency to opt towards making straight-forward, stripped down and honest recordings lets their pop songwriting shine out in the open. With a heart firmly attached to their sleeves, their songcraft delves into the emotional intricacy of personal relationships, asking questions about power and desire. Riley Fleck’s measured drumming and David Carriere’s trademark guitar licks mesh with Marta Cikojevic’s lush keyboards. All these elements work in tandem and in service of Jane Penny’s unmistakable, wistful voice. The result of this mixture is a collection of four self-produced records and a handful of singles that cover a range of moods and a complex emotional realm while maintaining a groove and musicality. In just five years, BALTHVS has become one of indie music’s most vital and globally resonant voices. With over 45 million streams, performances worldwide and praise from KEXP, SXSW, and Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide FM, the Colombian psych-funk trio feels both nostalgic and forward-thinking. At the heart of the group is Balthazar Aguirre, the band’s founding guitarist, as well as funk enthusiasts Vanessa Muñoz on bass and Santiago Lizcano on drums. Inspired by artists like Santana, Khruangbin, Thievery Corporation, and The Grateful Dead, their sound fuses the spirit of 70s psychedelia with groove-driven funk, Latin rhythms, and ambient texture.

Reformed 80s indie rock act. One of the most celebrated bands to come out of the Los Angeles' Paisley Underground scene of the '80s, the Dream Syndicate were different than most of their peers. While bands such as the Rain Parade and the Three O'Clock owed a debt to psychedelia, and the Long Ryders and Green on Red were informed in different ways by roots rock, the Dream Syndicate clearly adored the intricate wordplay and edgy energy of Highway 61 Revisited-era Bob Dylan, as well as the noisy guitars and bracing darkness of the Velvet Underground.

El Pony Pisador is a lively and unique band from Barcelona, known for an eclectic blend of musical styles and humorous, adventurous spirit. Their mix of folk sounds from all over the world results in a fun and energetic sound that's unpredictable and full of personality. From their native Catalan songs and dances to Celtic and Mediterranean tunes, yodelling, Tuvan throat singing, to even Georgian polyphony or Balkan polyrhythms. El Pony Pisador is well-regarded for their ability to engage audiences with their high-energy performances, witty lyrics, and a mix of both traditional and modern influences.

Under the moniker U.S. Girls, Meg Remy has become a staple name in experimental pop over the past decade with a signature blend of politics and disco beats.

The Specials Ltd are the UK's most authentic and original tribute to 2-Tone Legends, The Specials. When the original line up of The Specials split in 1981 they left behind a legacy which has been unrivaled by a single band since. The group were integral to promoting an anti-racial ethos, created a unique image and combined punk, ska and reggae music while lyrically commentating on the state of Britain in the late 70's and early 80's. They formed their own 2-Tone record label which launched the recording careers of Madness, The Beat and The Selecter. The Specials Ltd recreate the passion and enthusiasm of The Specials, bringing back memories of those who were there first time around and showing younger fans what they missed. The Specials Ltd are a 9 piece band full of energy, excitement and accuracy, performing Specials favourites such as Gangsters, Too Much Too Young, Do The Dog, Message To You Rudy, Stereotype, Rat Race, Do Nothing, Monkey Man, and Ghost Town.

Temet in Tamashek means connections and the album's an energetic wake up call for unity, reminding people that we are all are connected and that only through the acceptance and uptake of this union will we be able to solve the troubles all cultures seem to be dealing with in this important moment in time. Recorded in Paris in early 2017 and produced by the band with help from Patrick Votan and Tinariwen's Eyadou Ag Leche, Temet marks a huge leap forward both creatively and artistically for a band who were heralded as one of the leading-lights of the "newwave of Tuareg music". Now firmly established and regarded as torch-bearers by the new generation of musicians in Algeria and the Mali border area, the album sees them broadening their sound beyond the meditative desert blues of their debut to take in elements funk, disco and rock.

The Josh Meader Trio are an instrumental cross-genre powerhouse from Sydney, Australia, featuring National Jazz Award winners Alex Hirlian (drums), Matt Thomson (keys) and this years 2nd place finalist Josh Meader (guitar). Drawing upon a wide range of styles, the JMT successfully blends a multitude of genres including contemporary music, modern jazz, funk, hip-hop and rock to present an undeniably unique listening experience. The JMT delivers compositions infused with musical elements such as odd-time signatures, improvisation, sampling and textural explorations, derived from a melting pot of artists.

Damien O'Kane had a stint with Irish/Anglo supergroup Flook in 2007/8 and during his time in the band he quickly gained recognition for his banjo and vocal talents. Now currently a solo artist and a full-time member of Kate Rusby's band, O'Kane is much in demand. All the while, Damien is an outstanding banjo player, regarded as one of the finest on the Irish music scene. He is also a superb guitarist and an ingenious arranger. Not to mention an accomplished tunemaker, researcher, bandleader, producer and accompanist of rich imagination and fearless vision. You may think you know the music of Damien O'Kane but think again his inspirational album Areas of High Traffic will certainly leave you wondering.

L'Entourloop is a French musical collective formed by King James and Sir Johnny, known for blending reggae, hip-hop, and sound system culture. They are recognized for their use of vintage samples, cinematic references, and energetic beats. We’ve never written an entire piece and presented it in separate parts like this.” Tommy agrees, “This many years into our career, we want to continue doing things differently.” This approach cemented the group as progressive music’s most unpredictable outlier since its formation in 2000. Among many milestones, they released 2007’s watershed Colors followed by The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues EP in 2011 and The Parallax II: Future Sequence a year later. 2015 saw Coma Ecliptic elevate them to new heights yet again. Not only did it bow at #12 on the Billboard Top 200 (a career high for the band), but it also garnered widespread acclaim from Noisey, Revolver, Alternative Press, and The Guardian who welcomed the album with a rare perfect score. In between, they launched countless sold out headline tours and support runs with the likes of Mastodon. Now, they break more ground with Automata. “Lyrically, I wanted to write something that I treated as a puzzle until it comes together at the end,” continues Tommy. “For as deep and dark as it is, there’s a positive outcome, which we’ve never had. The story follow a protagonist whose dreams are used as entertainment broadcasted by a company called Voice of Trespass. Most of the record takes place within that dream. The character thinks it’s all real.” “Even though it takes place in the future, there are a lot of parallels to modern society,” adds Paul. “Oftentimes, we turn athletes, movie stars, and musicians into commodities. We forget that they’re real people with problems and issues. They’re society’s escape from reality as we use them for entertainment. Hence, society plays a role in their downfall, be it drug dependence, isolation, or even suicide. Society perpetuates mental illness with those expectations.” Automata – Part I unveils the first six songs comprising the entire body of work. Stretching near seven minutes, “Condemned to the Gallows” kicks off this journey. Acoustic guitar builds in epic fashion before sweeping distortion takes hold followed by unpredictable rhythms and a seismic vocal performance which, as Tommy puts it, “sets up the whole story.” Elsewhere, the trudging eight-minute guitar symphony of “Yellow Eyes” spirals into the melodic bliss of “Millions.” “There are a lot of moments where we totally venture away from the traditional formula of what a progressive metal band can do,” states Dan. “There are all these little moments where we’ve done something we never did before. ‘Millions’ is the perfect example. It’s four-minutes of straight melody—another first.” With Automata Part I, Part II, and the myriad of visuals on the horizon, Between The Buried And Me realize their potential to its fullest—and go one step further. “All of our music should build up to the newest record,” Tommy leaves off. “That’s what happens with Automata. You can take little snippets from our past throughout this album. It sounds like Between The Buried And Me, but it’s still new. We hope to keep the music industry on its toes. This is part of doing that.”

One of the ultimate New York City party bands, Marc Ribot Y Los Cubanos Postizos (aka ‘The Prosthetic Cubans’) became a must-see attraction in the late 1990s, with its feverishly cooking shows built around arrangements of Cuban bandleader Arsenio Rodríguez – innovator of the son montuno, and two critically acclaimed albums released on Atlantic Records. Reformed by popular demand with the addition of Cuban’s own Horacio ‘El Negro’ Hernandez on drums and original members Anthony Coleman (keys), Brad Jones (bass) and EJ Rodriquez (percussion), 2011 had the band once again in front of ecstatic audiences from such stages as the Montreal Jazz Festival, Fuji Rock Festival and Ellnora Guitar Festival at the Krannert Center of Performing Arts.

Innovator, award winning, multi-instrumentalist Malin Lewis melds Scottish West coast tradition with a newly invented, self-made bagpipe alongside stars Sally Simpson (Fiddle) and Ali Hutton (Guitar). Hair tingling, philosophical and dance inducing melodies inspired by European folk traditions, queerness and the universe. Having toured across the UK, Canada and Europe, Malin released their debut album 'Halocline' in May 2024 on Hudson Records. A Halocline is a visible layer that forms between salt and fresh water and is home to a unique microbial ecosystem. Halocline is a metaphor for Malins trans identity and living in a space in between; a beautiful space between a binary. Malin's unique timbre is born from the deep connection that comes from making and composing for their own instrument. Their one of a kind two-octave Smallpipe creates a whole new world of sound, captivating audiences at every opportunity. Inspired by the likes of Martyn Bennett, Duncan Chisholm and Sharron Shannon their music is as lively as it is thought provoking and sensitive. Recently Malin has been recording music for The Outrun film, composing for contemporary dance and theatre and been learning the tradition of the extinct Finnish Bagpipes.

Trio Da Kali are three remarkably gifted musicians from Mali. They are a unique format of vocals, balafon (xylophone) and ngoni bass. The members of Trio Da Kali are celebrated performers in their own right, coming from the most celebrated of Malis jeli [griot] families. Well-known for their award-winning album Ladilikan(World Circuit Records 2017),in collaboration with Kronos Quartet, and for their mesmerising performances at festivals around the world . The new album, Bagola, is their first full-length solo recording. It features creative new approaches to the deep heritage of Malian music, inspired by encounters with other musics, Bagola is a showcase of Trio Da Kalis entrancing and unique sound, only equalled by their magical performances on stage. In their new album Bagola,Trio Da Kalipresent newly composed songs accompanied on balafon and ngoni bass, that provide a rich accompaniment to the spectacular voice of Hawa Kasse Mady Diabaté. Trio Da Kali was founded in 2013 under the initiative of the Aga Khan Music Programme, with the help of three-times Grammy-nominated and multi-award-winning music producer Lucy Durán.

Percussion dAbobo is a collective of young drummers from the Abobo district of Abidjan, Côte dIvoire, brought together by master percussionist Sidiki Dembélé. The group emerged from a local training programme created by Sidiki to share traditional rhythms with a new generation and build opportunities through music. The ensemble performs powerful, high-energy pieces rooted in Mandeng musical traditions, including djembe, dunun, and balafon.Each member has been trained in both technique and cultural understanding, with a focus on respect, discipline, and group cohesion. Performances are joyful, intricate, and deeply rooted in heritage but always looking forward. Beyond performance, Percussion dAbobo is a vehicle for cultural exchange and empowerment. The group engages in international tours, workshops, and school visits that promote cultural understanding and inspire young people. At home and abroad, their message is clear: rhythm is a force for connection, pride, and transformation.

Dystopian. That’s the first adjective anyone ever used to describe south London auteur Heartworms, after the project was brought to life by its architect Jojo. Heartworms is the conduit for Jojo’s entire identity – her laying down a purposefully discomforting challenge to the outside world but also affirming her own self and passions (Jojo has just taken a volunteering role at The Royal Air Force Museum in Hendon) and the poetry of Pound, Thomas, and Keats. Backed by a full live band, Heartworms’ performances are a masterclass in poise. Jojo describes the theatre brought to her shows - punctuated by her intense stare - as a kick back against preconceived notions of ‘smallness’ and fragility as a female musician. On stage, her projection is the very antithesis: we see an artist who is big, powerful, in total control. Uniformity plays a huge role in all things Heartworms, too. The metronomic music and meticulous fashion of bands like Interpol and Kraftwerk greatly inspires Jojo, as does PJ Harvey, whose dark sense of humour and lyrical dexterity permeates Heartworms’ songwriting.

Police Dog Hogan are a high-energy and eclectic eight-piece, combining fiddle, trumpet, mandolin, drums and guitars with four-part harmonies in an exuberant and genre-defying fusing of country, pop, folk, and rocking urban bluegrass. Much-loved Guardian columnist Tim Dowling adds his banjo to the musical mix. The Sunday Times has described them as “wonderful”; the Telegraph named them one of its ‘favourite new bands”; Mark Radcliffe on Radio 2 said a “great night out was guaranteed” at their joyful shows; and veteran DJ Johnnie Walker praises their gigs as “a really good, fun time”. Eliot James (of Kaiser Chiefs, Bloc Party, Noah and the Whale, and Two Door Cinema Club fame) produced the band’s second CD, and Al Scott (Seth Lakeman, Oysterband, The Levellers, Asian Dub Foundation) oversaw the new album, ‘Wild By the Side of the Road’, which spent several weeks in the official UK Americana charts. Police Dog Hogan were one of only three UK bands invited to Nashville to perform at the prestigious Americana Music Association Awards, where DJ Bob Harris – in town for the awards – snapped them up for a recording that has become one of the most-watched YouTube videos on his “Under the Apple Tree Sessions” channel.
