Mary-Jannet Leith (recorders), Conor Gricmanis (Baroque violin), Florence Petit (Baroque cello), Thomas Allery (harpsichord) Ensemble Hesperi is a dynamic, innovative Early Music group with a passion for Baroque music. Their imaginative and distinctive programme, A Gift for your Garden, celebrates the Baroque composer Georg Philipp Telemann, his horticultural friendships and the joy to be found in the giving and receiving of flowers. It includes one of his Paris Quartets and works by his correspondents - George Frideric Handel, Johann Gottlieb Graun and James Oswald. The ensemble features regularly on Radio 3s The Early Music Show, has recorded in studio for Classic FM and performs at leading festivals across the UK and Europe. Becki Luff andLucy Nolan formed the Chroma Harp Duo in 2016. They enjoy exploring and performing an eclectic and challenging repertoire. The duo takes audiences on a kaleidoscopic journey: performing works from the classical harp repertoire; using the harp as a percussion instrument; and exploring new sounds from Indian ragas to live electronics. Their programme includes works by Vivaldi, Smetana, Respighi and Manuel de Falla alongside contemporary and newly commissioned pieces.

Milestone Big Band returns for another evening of music ranging from the Masters of Big Band old and new to The Blues Brothers, Earth Wind & Fire, Amy Winehouse, Robbie Williams and Michael Bubl. The 17-piece Milestone Big Band has played in many impressive venues including Londons Savoy Hotel, Londons Horizon 22 building and at the Guildford Jazz Festival. This will be an opportunity to dance the night away in the company of some fine local musicians and their special guest vocalist Georgie Fellows. A licensed bar will be available. Presented by Banstead Area u3a, the event is part of Banstead Arts Festival.
Street Art Uncovered: From Rebellion To Recognition
Talk byRoger Mendham. Over the past 50 years street art has evolved from its roots in American graffiti to becoming a global art movement. From portraiture to abstract expressionism, many of the major conventional genres are included in street art and the leading artists have exhibited their work internationally. If the only street artist you have heard of is Banksy and you dislike graffiti this talk will amaze you. It focuses on a number of different styles of street art as well as some leading artists, who have global reputations and whose works transcend the urban and traditional art scenes. Presented by The Arts Society Chipstead, this event is part of Banstead Arts Festival.

Young Musicians Showcase

Alison OGorman, Producer This concert, a regular and popular festival event, gives solo recital performance opportunities to talented young musicians aged 8 to18. They perform to a supportive audience in a variety of genre from classical, jazz and folk. The evening may include a childrens choir and young theatre performers. Sometimes an item is included which has been composed by one of them. Several former artists have entered the music profession. Alison OGorman is an experienced music teacher with over three decades of tuition and coaching, including to professional young music students. She has been producing the concert for several years and is delighted to present present impressive local young artists. Gracie Tse, a highly respected collaborative pianist, will accompany the performers.
