John Bramwell

8 May 2025 - 30 Nov 2025

John Harold Arnold Bramwell, to give him his full name, is perhaps best-known for his time as the songwriter and frontman of Manchester three-piece, I Am Kloot. However, he also possesses an enviable back catalogue as a solo artist and continues to work on new material under the guise of his latest band, John Bramwell & The Full Harmonic Convergence. Bramwell’s first studio output appeared in 1989, when he was performing and recording as Johnny Dangerously and entitled You Me & The Alarm Clock, an album The Guardian referred to as one of the ‘greatest albums you’ve never heard.’ Following a stint as a television presenter and as a member of the band, The Mouth, Bramwell formed I Am Kloot, with two members of The Mouth. They went on to record six studio albums, including the Mercury-Prize nominated album, Sky At Night. Since 2016, Bramwell has reverted to being a solo artist and tours continuously, around the UK and Europe. A home-recorded solo album, Leave Alone the Empty Spaces appeared in 2018 and the follow-up, a more expansive affair, with a working title of The Light Fantastic, is now scheduled for release in 2022.

Baskery

Baskery

12 Sept 2025 - 14 Nov 2025

The three sisters can't recall when or why they started playing, the music’s always just been there. In their late teens, the sisters joined forces with their dad, who for decades was a one man band playing old blues and country tunes for a living. This foundation of classic "roots music and Americana" settled in their hearts, but also awoke the urge of breaking the rules of traditional music. Baskery is a band built on what three people can do together and it's all about turning the music on its head, blending the straightforwardness of punk with the subtlety of singer/ songwriting. The first album, "Fall Among Thieves" (2008) was recorded in Stockholm, co-produced by Lasse Mårtén (Pink, 'Peter, Bjorn and John', Kelly Clarkson, Lykke Li, Primal Scream ). "New Friends" (2011) the follow up, the band referred to it as the "gypsy album" since it was mainly tracked on the road in various hotel rooms and band apartments, then mixed in Berlin by Blackpete (Depeche Mode, Joe Jackson, Peter Fox). As a contrast to the first two albums which took several months to make, the third one "Little Wild Life" (2013) was recorded during ten days in an old dance studio converted to a studio in former east Berlin, co-produced by Matt Wignall (Cold War Kids, J. Roddy Walston, Wargirl). All three albums received great acclaim by the press and are released in numerous countries. The releases in combination with relentless touring have given the band a reputation as one of the music scene's most noticeable live acts.
3 Daft Monkeys

3 Daft Monkeys

3 Daft Monkeys' dynamic style of world-influenced folk music and infectious dancing rhythms will leave you breathless, enthralled and exhilarated. After experiencing the band's notoriously energetic live performance at Glastonbury Festival last summer, Mark Radcliffe declared them as one of his Highlights of the Festival on BBC TV coverage, and subsequently invited them to play a session on his BBC Radio 2 Folk Show. The band have also performed a live session with Whispering Bob Harris on Radio 2, after he experienced them 'live' at Cropredy Festival. With their quirky and original approach to music, and their passion, intensity and sheer joy of life, 3 Daft Monkeys have gained themselves a large and loyal cult following, which is still growing rapidly due to their intense touring schedule. Their music is hard to pigeon-hole, mixing and crossing many musical genres from Celtic, Klezmer, Gypsy, Balkan, Latin, Ska, Dub Reggae, Indie, Rock and even a hint of Shostakovich. Fascinating lyrics of personal and whimsical observations on life, and folk tales both ancient and modern, are told within the swirling layers of their music, all with the essential catchy sing-along chorus. Their latest story-led and theatrical album Of Stones and Bones'(Best Album, Spiral Earth Awards) is a collection of old, new and fictional Cornish tales of forbidden love, murder, rebellion, witchcraft and piracy. All delivered with panache and a wicked vein of humour.

Jake Xerxes Fussell

Jake Xerxes Fussell

29 Aug 2025 - 29 Aug 2025

Jake Xerxes Fussell is a singer, guitarist, and composer based in Durham, NC. His intuitive creative process often draws from traditional music and archival field recordings - incorporating elements of songs from the past into new work. He is, according to Ann Powers of NPR, "maybe the leading interpreter of American folk music right now..." Fussells album When Im Called was released to critical acclaim by Fat Possum Records in the summer of 2024. The album was produced by James Elkington and features Blake Mills (guitars), Ben Whiteley (bass), and Joe Westerlund (drums), along with additional vocals from Joan Shelley and Robin Holcomb. His most recent recording Close My Eyes (a song by the late American composer/cellist/singer Arthur Russell) was released in March of 2025 as a digital single. Fussell and Elkington also wrote and recorded the music for Rebuilding, a new feature film directed by Max Walker-Silverman that premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival. Fussells music often comes with complex citations; he is a folksinger in the truest sense, collecting ideas and melodies and lyrics from distant and disparate traditions, looking for the things that unite us in our humanity. - The New Yorker (Fussell) is one of the great magpies of American song, collecting forgotten, tarnished gems with a folklorists zeal his renditions arent so much cover versions as composites The Guardian
