With regular racing since 1811, Bath Racecourse is renowned for training young horses until they are promising enough to participate in larger races elsewhere. As well as racedays year round, the race course also hosts conference, meetings, weddings and Christmas party nights. North of the city centre, the racecourse is six miles south of J18 of the M4 and is well signposted. The number 22 bus runs on racedays from the bottom of Manvers Street.
