Thea Gilmore

Thea Gilmore

27 Nov 2025 - 5 Dec 2025

Prolific singer-songwriter from Oxfordshire whose style is strongly influenced by Bob Dylan, Tom Waits and Joni Mitchell. Thea Gilmore released “Small World Turning” in 2019 - her first new collection of songs since 2017’s “The Counterweight” which was her 3rd successive top 40 album. “Small World Turning” takes a sharp musical turning of its own, many may argue a new commitment to what Thea Gilmore does best, as it’s an album with an unashamed folk flavour. An artist of enduring international acclaim (Bruce Springsteen regularly names her as a favourite) and a justly revered lyricist, Gilmore’s musical settings have taken many ingenious detours in recent years. "Murphy's Heart” (2010) arrived with a buffed-up radio sheen, 2013’s “Regardless” was luscious chamber pop and “The Counterweight” brought electronica flavourings to the table.

Cast

13 Jun 2025 - 5 Dec 2025

Originally formed in 1992 from the ashes of The La’s and Shack, Cast released four albums and had ten top 10 singles before disbanding in 2001. As one of the most traditional guitar bands to emerge during the Brit-pop era of the mid-'90s, Cast have carved out a sound that was heavily indebted to the British Invasion of the early '60s, yet it was infused with a mystical, pseudo-hippie lyrical sensibility, which lead singer John Power expanded upon in all of his interviews. What really made Cast into a success was Power's gift for simple, classic pop hooks, as demonstrated on the hit singles "Fine Time," "Alright," and "Walkaway." Cast became a very, very popular band within Britain following the success of Oasis and Blur. Labelled ‘The Who of the 90’s’, Noel Gallagher once described watching Cast play live as “a religious experience.”

Through relentless touring, her innate songwriting ability and an ever growing fanbase, Lucy has now achieved an incredible 5 consecutive Top 30 albums. ‘Today Was A Good Day’ marked a new chapter for Lucy musically and personally. Rather than merely trying to recreate or reproduce the original recordings, or even live performances of the original bands, The Southmartins have always put their own stamp on the material and have led the way in how they approach paying tribute to these classic songs. This is not simple mimicry. Having said that, lead singer Andy's voice is about as close to Paul Heaton as you could hope for without it being the man himself (who has said the band are "very good") and with a highly skilled, and lively band they inject a huge amount of energy and soul into their shows.
