Majorly self-produced works have inspired collaborations from the likes of Stevie Wonder, Leon Ware, Erykah Badu, D’Angelo, and Estelle. A truly unique and original voice accompanied with musicianship and song-writing talent, establish Omar as a pioneer in British soul. A precursor to neo-soul and acid jazz movements, he outlasted the peak of these tags to continue to deliver his own inimitable brand of soul music. Omar received an MBE in 2012 for services to the British Music Industry. The father of neo-soul has a career spanning over 3 decades, garnering wide respect within the worlds of soul, jazz, funk and R&B.

Formed in the mid-1970s by brothers Johnnie and Keith Wilder, Heatwave became legends with their blend of funk, disco and soul. With the incredible talent of songwriter Rod Temperton, who later wrote iconic hits like "Thriller" and "Rock With You" for Michael Jackson, their music has stood the test of time and continues to fill playlists all over the world. Heatwave’s sound is more than just a collection of hits. It’s a celebration of an era full of musical creativity and energy. From the smoothness of "Always and Forever" to the irresistible beats of "Boogie Nights" and "The Groove Line", their performances are the perfect blend of timeless music and pure joy.

Formed in London, UK, Heatwave are a funk/disco group who came into international success in the mid-70s and 80s, known for the hits, Boogie Nights, Always and Forever and The Groove Line. The band came together initially when two American serviceman brothers, Jennie Wilder and Keith Wilder, who were based in Germany, began performing together. After they were discharged, they moved to London, UK in 1975 to team up with songwriter/keyboardist Rod Temperton. They then fleshed out the lineup with Spaniard Mario Mantese (bass), Czechoslovakian Ernest Berger (drums) and Americans Jesse Whitens (guitar) and Eric Johns (guitar). With the multicultural nature of the group, they managed to create an eclectic sound that pushed their music well ahead of their peers, becoming pioneers in their genre. After touring the London club circuit, they gained the attention of GTO Records, with their simple disco beats and heavy funk grooves. They began recording their debut album but the tragic murder of Jesse Whitens set them back. However, finding a replacement in Roy Carter, they began recording again, releasing a string of singles culminating in the hit disco anthem, 1977's Boogie Nights. The song hit number two in the UK charts and also became a top five hit in America. Their debut album appeared later that year, titled Too Hot to Handle, peaking at number five in the R&B charts. By the end of the year, they had also gained a number two hit in the US with their soul ballad, Always and Forever. Success followed them into their next album, Central Heating, in 1978, featuring the hit, The Groove Line, which scaled the top of the charts. However, lineup instability followed shortly after, with both Johns and Temperton leaving the band. Further tragedy hit after Mantese was stabbed by his girlfriend and was left paralysed, forcing his retirement. In 1979, Heatwave had recuperated to record their third album, Hot Property, which despite its strong collection of songs, failed to make much of an impression in the charts. Please note, although Heatwave is still touring and performing the hits, the band no longer features the original members. Osibisa’s inspirational sound could only have developed in the hothouse of London. 50 years on it's time to celebrate this cornerstone of black British pop history. Osibisa are developing a special show to celebrate their most significant work with special guests including Blo, who supported them on their first tour of Nigeria, alongside others special guests who will join the band. During the late 60s and early 70s Osibisa were unique, taking an African message to the mainstream rock crowd. In the 1970s the importance of Osibisa became international, they were the talismans for African musicians looking to use their own African culture and harness the sensibility and commercial worlds of European markets. This was because their West African polyrhythms and melodies were not sacrificed to the constraints of a rock aesthetic. African clothes were proudly worn and not assimilated. The musicians were muti-instumentalists able to perform complex traditional percussion work-outs as well as deftly play electric instruments. Their live shows crossed over, bringing African culture to a white crowd, who were the regulars at rock venues like The Marquee where Osibisa often played. These bold moves brought Osibisa a growing reputation at home and their impact back in Africa was profound.

The London Community Gospel Choir celebrate their 30th birthday in a performance featuring guest appearances from some of their well-known friends, including X Factor runner-up Jahmene Douglas and Magic FM DJ Angie Greaves. Another highlight of the concert is a Guinness World Record attempt for the greatest number of people in a gospel choir singing together in concert conditions, currently standing at 1,138 voices. The songs for the challenge are the very popular 'O Happy Day' and LCGC's Anniversary single 'Keep Moving'. The concert is part of the three-day LCGC 30 Choir Festival taking place on site as part of Chorus festival, so look out for performances by specially-invited choirs across the weekend.

Vocalist celebrated for her soulful voice and powerful songwriting “Our generation’s songbird,” was what Nicole Scherzinger called Rebecca Ferguson during her X Factor days. Britain fell in love with Ferguson’s voice during the seventh season of the competition show, during which the then 24-year-old singer won hearts with her story of single motherhood and passionate love of music. Shortly after her time on The X Factor, Ferguson released her debut album, Heaven. It was received with universal acclaim from critics, with no publication giving it less than four stars, and was certified platinum in the UK. In early 2012, Ferguson departed on her first headline tour, which sold out across the UK and Ireland. Ferguson’s sophomore album, Freedom, arrived in December 2013. The album saw Ferguson making a departure from her soul-influenced sound in favour of R&B-tinged, dance-friendly tracks. Her next full-length project, Lady Sings The Blues, was even bolder departure from her previous work. It saw Ferguson reimagine Billie Holiday’s 1956 record of the same name, covering 17 songs previously performed by Holiday. Her fourth studio album, Superwoman, was released in 2016. In 2023, Ferguson announced the upcoming release of Heaven – Part 2, her first full-length album in seven years. She explained on social media that the album would be her last, marking her retirement from the music industry.

One of the most successful UK Soul bands of the 1980s, Loose Ends first hits the charts in 1985 with Hanging on a String, which went to number one in the USA and hit the national top 10 in the UK. More hits followed on both sides of the Atlantic with Magic Touch, Slow Down and Watching you (Watching me). In 1990 two of the original members, Jane Eugene and Steve Nichol left the band and were replaced with Linda Carriere andSunay Suleyman who joined founding member Carl McIntosh. The band's final hit was Don't be a fool in the same year. Carl McIntosh went on to be an in-demand produer for Caron Wheeler and Ruth Joy. Carl has now brought back Loose Ends to overwhelming demand.

Hilary Mwelwa aka Hil St. Soul was born in Lusaka, Zambia and relocated to London with her family at age five. As a child she adopted her father’s love of music, as their home was immersed with the sounds of traditional Zambian music along with American R&B/Soul icons such as Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder. Her 1999 debut album "Soul Organic" received widespread acclaim and featured a cover of Aretha Franklin's Until you Come Back to me which has been playlisted on Jazz FM and Soul and Smooth Jazz Radio Stations all over the world for over 17 years. This was followed in 2002 with Copasetik & Cool which included her hit version of The Isley Brothers evergreen classic For the Love of You. Her last album Black Rose featured the Neo-Soul anthem "Smile" which has had over half a million plays on YouTube.
