Kingsbridge Show has been held for 143 years. Being held on the first Saturday in September, it is usual for the farmers to have finished harvesting and they can therefore enjoy a good day out meeting up with friends and colleagues. The event attracts visitors being situated in a tourism area and catches families before the children start the new school term. The Show maintains strong links with the town of Kingsbridge and there is a free bus operated to the showground by Tally Ho! Coaches. Borough Farm has proved to be a splendid site for the Show with its far reaching views of gentle rolling South Hams countryside down towards the sea. Over the years there have been many attractions to the Show, not least the exhibition of livestock and horse classes, home craft and horticulture sections too. There are many commercial trade stands, a craft marquee as well as food & drink tent where exhibitors offer a variety of locally produced foods to create your own picnic. A variety of catering outlets offer a splendid choice and visitors can sit and enjoy the main ring entertainment whilst savouring the atmosphere of live music and entertainment from a family dog show, terrier racing, classic cars and vintage tractor displays.
