Piano Recital with Mark Viner one of the most gifted pianists of his generation International Piano Magazine PROGRAMME TBA Mark Viner has become one of Britains leading concert pianists, known for his distinctive artistry and passion for overlooked piano repertoire. Born in 1989, he began lessons at 11 and soon earned scholarships to the Purcell School, studying with Tessa Nicholson, and later to the Royal College of Music, where he trained with Niel Immelman and graduated with top honours. His career accelerated after winning the 2012 Alkan-Zimmerman International Piano Competition, leading to performances across Europe and the Americas, major festival appearances, and broadcasts on Deutschlandfunk and BBC Radio 3. He is acclaimed for his Piano Classics recordingsespecially his pioneering complete Alkan serieshe also composes, writes, teaches, and chairs both the Alkan and Liszt Societies.

Piano Recital with Thomas Graff PROGRAMME GEORGE GERSHWIN Rhapsody in Blue An American in Paris Song selections from 'George Gershwin at the Keyboard' Gershwin/Earl Wild Fantasy on themes from Porgy and Bess Thomas Graffwas born in Cardiff and began to play the piano at the age of four. He gained a scholarship to the Junior Department of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama at the age of nine, later studying piano with Richard McMahon. He studied music at the University of Bristol and continued his piano studies under the tutelage of Raymond Clarke. His recitals featured Liszt, Prokofiev and Ravels piano works. He won the University Concerto Competition in his final year, performing Shostakovichs 2nd Piano Concerto. Thomas was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Schools of Music with distinction in 2019, with a specialism of 20th century piano music and a repertoire including Prokofievs 7th piano sonata, Ravels Gaspard de la Nuit and Messiaens Ile de Feu 1 and 2. He is active in choral accompanying and performing chamber music as well as solo repertoire. He has recently been appointed musical director of the prestigious Wessex Male Choir and conducted the choir during its latest tour, in Krakow, Poland, and its participation in the Cracovia Cantans 2019 competition, where it was awarded two first prizes. He has performed at a wide range of venues including the Welsh Millennium Centre and Colston Hall. Thomas is also a violinist and spent many years in the National Youth Orchestra of Wales.

INTERVAL Carl Tausig 1842 - 1871 The Ghost Ship, op 1 Franz Liszt 1811 - 1886 Sonata in B minor, S.178 Tyler Hay was born in 1994 and first showed a prodigious talent for the piano when he won the Dennis Loveland award in Kent for his performance of Liszts Mephisto Waltz no 1 at the age of 11. He gained a place to study at the Purcell School in 2007 where he studied under Tessa Nicholson. He continued his studies with Graham Scott and Frank Wibaut at the Royal Northern College of Music and with Niel Immelman and Gordon Fergus-Thompson for a Masters degree at the Royal College of Music. Tyler has performed programmes at Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall and the Purcell Room and has played Ravels Concerto for Left Hand Alone at the Queen Elizabeth Hall and Saint-Sans Piano Concerto no 2 at Symphony Hall with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. In 2016, Tyler won first prize in the keyboard section of the Royal Overseas League Competition and as well as winning the RNCMs Gold medal competition, also won first prize in the Liszt Society International Competition. Tyler won 1st prize in the Dudley International Piano Competition in November, 2022. CDs of Liszt, John Ogdon, Kalkbrenner and Field are available on Brilliant Classics and an album of virtuoso piano music by contemporary British composer Simon Proctor is also available on Navona Records.

He began the cello at age four, and later studied at Wells Cathedral School and the Guildhall School of Music & Drama under Stefan Popov and Paul Roberts, then continued privately with Raphael Wallfisch. Julian has performed extensively across Europe and the Far Easton major festival platforms including the International Casals Festival in Spain, the Aberystwyth Music Fest and Buckingham Summer Festival. He is noted for his command of both standard and lesser-known cello repertoire, with performances of concertos by Bridge, Kabalevsky, Miaskovsky and Shostakovich in addition to the major classics. Equally committed to teaching and chamber music, he maintains a roster of students and collaborates with prominent musicians, combining technical prowess with expressive depth. A distinguished British pianist, Paul Turner is celebrated for his versatility across solo, accompaniment and chamber-music roles. His early training at the Royal Academy of Music earned him major prizes including the Queens Commendation for Excellence and the Peter Pears Accompaniment Prize. He has performed internationallyfrom Londons Wigmore Hall and South Bank Centre to Buenos Aires, Amsterdam, Stuttgart and Valenciaworking with eminent artists such as Michael Collins, Nicholas Daniel, Caroline Dale and Elizabeth Watts. Turners reputation as a wise and sensitive pianist is built on his refined approach to collaboration and his wide-ranging repertoirefrom solo recitals to complex chamber works.
