Vivaldi's Four Seasons & Lark Ascending by Candlelight
London Concertante brings Vivaldi’s masterpiece to life in a wonderful concert featuring gems of baroque music. This concert features Vivaldi’s Four Seasons; a jewel of the composer’s extraordinary ability to illustrate moods as diverse and contrary as violent winds or birdsong, fox hunts and drunken stumbles! We combine this with one of the most beautiful pieces for the violin, Vaughan-Williams’ transcendental "The Lark Ascending", which takes you on a journey to the heights of poetic nature’s landscapes. A stunning concert celebrating the virtuosity of the violin in all its forms.
The Leconfield Singers - Brahms Requiem
The Leconfield Singers are delighted to be back in Arundel Cathedral this year for Brahms' beautiful and hugely popular Eine Deutches Requiem. This is undoubtably one of Brahms' best known works, much loved by choirs and audiences alike. The performance will be conducted by Graham Wili, and will feature soloists Elen Roberts (Soprano) and Dyfed Wyn Evans (Baritone), as well as English Philharmonia, an orchestra comprising some of the best and most accomplished musicians in the UK. The orchestra will also perform Symphony No. 29 in A major, K. 201 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, one of the composer's earliest symphonic masterpieces, celebrated for its elegance, lyricism and youthful brilliance. This piece and the choir's performance of Geistliches Lied by Brahms will comprise the first half of the concert, with Brahm's Requeim being performed in the second half. There will be a short interval where drinks will be served and we would ask everyone to bring some change for this and the retiring collection, which will go towards The Sussex Snowdrop Trust providing care for children with life-limiting conditions in Sussex.
