The Undertones

The Undertones emerged from Derry in 1976, the result of five friends learning how to play basic rock and roll. Practicing in their bedrooms eventually led to the band recording ‘Teenage Kicks’ in 1978 on Terri Hooley's Good Vibrations label in Belfast. The legendary DJ John Peel received a copy and liked it so much he played it twice in a row on his radio show.

In a short spell, the mild-mannered Midwest-born pixie managed to transform into an erotic electronic pop femme fatale. Now, it sounds like she’s stalking the Hollywood Hills with a combination of razor-sharp song-craft, inventive underground production and cheeky lyrics, all while dripping in eighties-inspired afterparty-ready fashion wild enough to make Sharon Stone blush. Formed while at school in 2007, The Skints hail from the Waltham Forest and Redbridge boroughs of North East London, and they cut their teeth in London's underground punk scene before venturing out of the M25 to play their first self-booked DIY venture and embark on a heaving touring regime across the nation's "toilet venue" circuit. Their latest album "Swimming Lessons", released spring 2019, draws on influences as sprawling as Bad Brains, Michael Prophet, No Doubt, Alton Ellis, Wiley and Weezer. From crushing heartbreak, the impending doom of Brexit, surviving as an independent musician and navigating the weird world of 2019 - all of these are proverbial "swimming lessons" life throws at us. Lyrically their darkest and most introspective release to date, it is also The Skints pushing and blurring the lines of genre to a more extreme degree than ever before. David Byrne’s Night is a genre-defying celebration of two Scottish icons: Robert Burns and David Byrne (born in Dumbarton, look it up!), founded by Dundee native Lola Stephen. Too Many Zooz is an American music group based in New York City, consisting of Leo Pellegrino (baritone saxophone), Matt "Doe" Muirhead (trumpet) and David "King of Sludge" Parks (drums). Pellegrino and Muirhead met at the Manhattan School of Music where they were attending. Pellegrino and Parks had played together in Drumadics, a local busking band. Teaming up in mid-2013, the trio started busking together that August at various stations in the New York City Subway in their self-defined genre – brass house. The band's definition of Brass House is a mix of jazz, Afro-Cuban rhythms, funk, EDM and house music. They are known as well for Pellegrino's characteristic dance moves while playing.

Featuring Culture (with Kenyatta Hill) and Cedric Myton (of The Congos), this is a rare chance to experience two true reggae icons who have carried the culture from its rise to the present day. The legendary harmony group Culture, originally led by the iconic Joseph Hill, gave the world timeless classics in the 1970s, including the seminal album Two Sevens Clash. Following Joseph's unexpected passing in 2006, his son Kenyatta Hill took up the microphone. With remarkable passion, a voice strikingly similar to his father's, and boundless energy, he continues to keep Culture's spiritual and musical legacy vibrantly alive. Sharing the stage is Cedric Myton, the distinctive falsetto voice and driving force behind The Congos. Their album Heart of the Congos, produced by the eccentric genius Lee "Scratch" Perry, is widely regarded as one of the greatest reggae records ever made. To this day, Myton is celebrated for his otherworldly voice, at once fragile and powerful, delivering performances guaranteed to send shivers down your spine. Cedric will be performing a set of songs from The Congos iconic catalogue.
