The Undertones emerged from Derry in 1976, the result of five friends learning how to play basic rock and roll. Practicing in their bedrooms eventually led to the band recording ‘Teenage Kicks’ in 1978 on Terri Hooley's Good Vibrations label in Belfast. The legendary DJ John Peel received a copy and liked it so much he played it twice in a row on his radio show.

The U.K. Subs are a British punk rock band formed in London in 1976 by frontman Charlie Harper, combining the raw energy of punk with rock and roll and R&B influences. Originally named The Subversives, the band quickly gained prominence with hits like "Stranglehold" and "Warhead," releasing seminal albums such as Another Kind of Blues and Crash Course.

The Toronto-based electronic collective Holy Fck were formed in 2004 by Graham Walsh and Brian Borcherdt. They were known primarily for improvising on-stage with a variety of electronic devices strewn across a table and held together with duct tape. Described as "blip-hoppers" and "a shabbily dressed Kraftwerk," Holy Fck create lo-fi electronic noise music with old analogue musical and non-musical instruments, including a 35mm film synchronizer. It is difficult to believe, but 21 years have gone by since DeVotchKa released its 2004 album, “How It Ends.” For many, this fourth full-length offering from the Denver-based foursome is a defining masterpiece. The rich blend of strings and folksong stylings, punk instincts, and cinematic soundscapes on How It Ends are woven throughout songs such as “You Love me,” “Twenty-Six Temptations,” and “Dearly Departed” continue to captivate listeners. 2007 saw the hoosiers explode upon an unsuspecting public with their debut album “The Trick To Life”, which reached the top of the album charts and spawned the indie-pop classics ‘Worried About Ray’ and ‘Goodbye Mr A’, which still pack out indie dance floors a decade later.

Transvision Vamp was formed by Wendy James and co-writer and guitarist Nick Christian Sayer. In West London they teamed up with Dave Parsons and Tex Axile. The band was signed to MCA records by Dave Ambrose, the notorious A&R man from EMI records who had also signed the Sex Pistols. They recorded their first LP album ‘Pop Art’ and released a first single ‘Revolution Baby’ and then charted with their second single, a cover version of Holly & The Italians ‘Tell That Girl To Shut Up’, followed by a third single ‘I Want Your Love’ which went to No.5 on the UK singles chart. The album ‘Pop Art’ was released later in 1988 and went to No.3 in the UK album chart. Extensive touring of the UK and Europe continued throughout this year as their success grew, starting on the University circuit and ending with playing two sold out gigs at the London Town And Country Club, taking in the Marquee Club along the way with queues two-fold around the block of Wardour Street, London Presented by CHALK. Hollywood has told countless stories, but it’s never told a story quite like this. It opens back in Missouri where a college dropout obsessed with 90s and 00s pop divided her time between sweeping hair off the floor of a local salon and crafting music in a closet at her mom’s house. Buoyed by social media savvy, a clever sense of humour and fire hooks, Slayyyter made her way to Los Angeles. In a short spell, the mild-mannered Midwest-born pixie managed to transform into an erotic electronic pop femme fatale. Now, it sounds like she’s stalking the Hollywood Hills with a combination of razor-sharp song-craft, inventive underground production and cheeky lyrics, all while dripping in eighties-inspired afterparty-ready fashion wild enough to make Sharon Stone blush. London four-piece, The Skints, have clawed their way up from the depths of the underground punk/ska scene to a unique fixture on the global reggae stage. The Afghan Whigs were a seminal part of the 90’s alt rock explosion in America and were amongst the first bands to be snatched up by iconic label Sub Pop. Formed in 1986, the band announced their arrival to the world two years later with the release of their debut album Big Top Halloween. This was followed by the further titles Up In It, Congregation, Gentlemen, Black Love and 1965. Following a 16 year hiatus of new material, the band released their critically acclaimed and Top 40 album Do To The Beast in 2014.

Cabaret Voltaire was a British electronic music band formed in Sheffield, England in 1973 by Stephen Mallinder, Richard H. Kirk, and Chris Watson. Named after the Dada movement's founding nightclub in Zurich, Cabaret Voltaire pioneered industrial music, blending surrealist experimentation with DIY punk and Brian Eno's sonic tech geekery. Their early work involved DIY electronics and tape recorders, evolving into synthpop, dance, house, and funk styles.

Seb Lowe has burst out of nowhere. (Okay Saddleworth…) with an upcoming 7 monitor mini-album that’s excellent for the second. Good in that this can be a younger child with a head stuffed with phrases which are his weapons and telling his fact and a guitar that could be a machine gun of riffing. That is the teenage frontline with poetry and scrubbed acoustic guitar uneven chords and a poetic indignant voice stuffed with ardour and melody.

Vundabar brings a sharp sound, while Yot Club, led by Ryan Kaiser, is known for introspective surf-pop hits like "YKWIM?". The acts unite for a blend of energetic and nostalgic indie tunes.

California-born but now based in Manchester, Jesca Hoop is what you’d call a musician’s musician. Discovered by Tom Waits, and brought on tour by Peter Gabriel to sing in his band, it was a phone call from Elbow’s Guy Garvey that saw her move to the UK.　 Her recent album "Stonechild", produced by John Parish (PJ Harvey, Aldous Harding, This is the Kit), received huge acclaim from fans and critics alike, and it’s easy to see why: her beautiful songs, rooted in the folk tradition are intricately detailed, acoustic-led pieces that teem with ideas.

Started as a fun experiment in the kitchen of a house in Perrystown, The Scratch are a 4-piece acoustic act from Dublin, Ireland. Born from a shared love of acoustic guitar, metal and traditional Irish music, The Scratch have moulded triumphant melodies with the groove and intensity of metal.

Sometimes you hear a track that makes you pause. It’s the lyricism, the atmosphere or the presence. In Antony Szmierek’s case, it’s all three: the fly-on-the-wall, street-lamp-lit aesthetic of his incredibly hopeful breakthrough “Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Fallacy” is smooth and clear. The club-ready roller coasted into view with absurdist everyday-isms, flashing-light feelings and late-night philosophies, all told atop a looping piano that seemed to be coasting off day-after euphoria. 
 What Szmierek does is document incredibly specific details from his life, and others. It’s about making music that tells stories and makes him feel good. Having spent time working as a teacher throughout his twenties, he’s learned the value of “communities, people and empathy. All of these things I value as part of my personality now, I learned while teaching.” Szmierek says the ultimate mission of his music is to let others know that this is all possible.

Finnish quartet The Rasmus formed in Helsinki in 1995 while frontman Lauri Ylönen, bassist Eero Heinonen, guitarist Pauli Rantasalmi, and drummer Jarno Lahti were all still in school. Lahti left after only a year, replaced by Janne Heiskanen, and the band went on to release their funk-rock influenced debut Peep in 1996. By the following year, they’d already won an EMMA (the Finnish Grammys) for Best Newcomer.

Australian psych-rock outfit Tropical F- Storm are cutting loose from the traditions of their previous bands and going fully off-piste with the wild, sprawling sound of their latest creative offerings. South London MC’s Dutch & Graft, formally known as ‘The Manor’, have made a name for themselves over the years for their lively but charismatic sound, larger-than-life events, and cult following across the UK and abroad. Hailing from South East London, the movement started specifically in Beckenham, where the boys threw regular iconic events and carved their own distinct corner of the UK scene, bringing their local support with them. Drink The Sea is a new supergroup of world-renowned musicians who are considered to be some of the best songwriters in their bands from the 1990s. They include: Peter Buck, the founding guitarist and songwriter for R.E.M. His collaborations with other bands and singer-songwriters spans dozens of albums across 40 years. His collaborations with Drink The Sea member, Barrett Martin, includes work on over 40 albums to date. Duke Garwood, a revered British singer-songwriter and guitarist who has made multiple solo albums. He has also collaborated on albums with Screaming Trees singer, Mark Lanegan. Alain Johannes, a Chilean-American producer, multi-instrumentalist, and singer songwriter who founded the band Eleven. His virtuosic skills have been tapped by several artists including Chris Cornell, PJ Harvey, Queens Of The Stone Age, Them Crooked Vultures, and many others. Barrett Martin, a Grammy-winning producer who was also the drummer and a songwriter for the Seattle band Screaming Trees, as well as the supergroup Mad Season. He formed the instrumental group, Tuatara, with Peter Buck and has worked on over 200 albums as a producer and session musician, playing on albums for R.E.M., Queens Of The Stone Age, Brazilian superstar Nando Reis, and various singer-songwriters. Lisette Garcia, a Mexican-American percussionist who has played on multiple albums from around the world. She has also worked as a song-translator for albums made in South America.

Proving that loud, gritty, and ranting punk rock is still alive and thrashing in Canada, Toronto's Cancer Bats employ a punishing blend of hardcore punk, metalcore, Southern rock, and sludge metal. Citing a wide berth of musical inspirations including Black Flag, Down, Led Zeppelin, Entombed, and Black Sabbath -- they have toured Canada as a Sabbath cover band under the moniker Bat Sabbath -- they emerged in 2006 with the hard-hitting Birthing the Giant. They caught fire in the early 2010s, earning Juno Award nominations for 2011's Bears, Mayors, Scraps & Bones and 2013's Dead Set on Living, and have remained at the forefront of the Canadian hardcore scene with subsequent efforts like The Spark That Moves (2018) and Psychic Jailbreak (2022).

When the original line up of The Specials split in 1981 they left behind a legacy which has been unrivaled by a single band since. The group were integral to promoting an anti-racial ethos, created a unique image and combined punk, ska and reggae music while lyrically commentating on the state of Britain in the late 70's and early 80's. They formed their own 2-Tone record label which launched the recording careers of Madness, The Beat and The Selecter. Emma Ruth Rundle, singer and guitarist for California post-rock/psych-metal outfit Marriages, a member of Isis-connected post-rockers Red Sparowes, and frontwoman for atmospheric psych-folk/slowcore collective Nocturnes. Singer/songwriter, guitarist, and visual artist Emma Ruth Rundle is also an accomplished solo artist. Since debuting in 2014 with the acclaimed gothic folk/post-rock effort Some Heavy Ocean, Rundle has issued a string of evocative albums, including a 2020 collaboration with Louisiana sludge metallers Thou and 2021's stripped-down and unflinching Engine of Hell.

David Byrne’s Night is a genre-defying celebration of two Scottish icons: Robert Burns and David Byrne (born in Dumbarton, look it up!), founded by Dundee native Lola Stephen. What began in 2023 at Hackney’s glittering MOTH Club quickly became one of London’s most talked about live music events, with its debut selling out within days and attracting a four figure waiting list. The concept is simple: supergroups formed from musicians across the indie, punk and experimental scenes and beyond, perform Talking Heads and David Byrne classics and deep cuts, interspersed with recitals of Robert Burns’ poetry. On paper it sounds completely unhinged. In practice, it somehow feels like a match made in heaven.
