His career has seen him perform at some of the world's most prestigious folk music events including Tønder Festival (DK), Festival Ortigueira (ES), Celtic Connections, (SCO) Woodford Folk Festival (AUS), Milwaukee Irish Fest (USA), Festival Dranouter (BE) and countless others. Raised in Co. Kilkenny, Ireland and later Yorkshire, England, before moving to Scotland as a teenager, Jack has a split national identity shared between the three countries. At eighteen, in Edinburgh, he formed a partnership with multi-instrumentalist Ciaran Ryan, touring the UK, Germany and Denmark. The duo would go on to form Dallahan in 2013, which rapidly became one of Scotland's busiest international folk bands. To date the band have recorded four critically acclaimed albums, earned several awards and many nominations and toured extensively on four continents. Having previously sung mostly original interpretations of traditional songs, In 2020, Jack began writing original songs, initially incorporating them into Dallahan's music before beginning to write and release solo recordings. In 2021, Jack released his debut solo EP, The Driftwood Project. Funded by Creative Scotland, the EP was drip-released throughout the year and showcased a plethora of musical influences and outlooks, featuring a large lineup of some of Scotland's most accomplished instrumentalists from the jazz, classical and folk worlds. It was nominated for Original Work of the Year (Sponsored by PRS) at the BBC Scots Trad Music Awards 2021. In Autumn 2023, Jack went on tour throughout the UK as the support act for Eddi Reader, finely honing his solo live show in the process, before also performing on a lengthy tour in Germany the following year. The album, produced by Euan Burton (Kris Drever, Julie Fowlis) has been described by critics as a glowing galaxy of songs and affirmed Jack as a first class songwriter. Jack Badcock is a singer whose solo material reveals an astute songcraft exploring enormously wide ranging subjects delivered with a musical sensitivity clearly influenced by American folk, funk and soul music as much as the traditional music of Britain and Ireland and all served with a healthy dose of storytelling and humour.

TangleJack

TangleJack

29 May 2025 - 29 May 2025

TangleJack's latest album, The Ragged Edge, was received as "a work of genius" (Fatea) that "fused together the brilliant complexities of folk with the wondrous harmonies of vintage pop." (Aldora Britain Records) Now, following a tour of intimate gigs, the South Wales duo is taking their songs of quiet contemplation and rousing roof-raisers to new venues across the UK. After three decades of making music together, John-Paul Davies and Duncan Leigh have perfected their unique, acoustic, double-duet sound. Through tight two-part harmonising and intricate, interweaving guitar lines TangleJack conjure an extraordinary four part texture. And it is on stage that the chemistry behind the TangleJack sound can really be seen. Sharing a history that began some 30 years ago, as the arty outsiders in the brass bands of the South Wales valleys, John-Paul and Duncan formed a friendship that outlasted their teenage rock band years, as well as the jazz and classical meanderings of their studies, to return to their folk rock roots as musicians well-travelled. Having spent their lives becoming the band, and the people, they were always supposed to be, John-Paul and Duncan are preparing to share the experiences of friendship and love with their ever growing audience as they perform their live classics and new songs from The Ragged Edge. This is a band that can really move an audience and keep them engaged and involved. I highly recommend heading out to one of their live shows." ABABAC Magazine "If Simon and Garfunkel had grown up in contemporary South Wales, this might have been the music they produced" folking.com TangleJack have been performing across South, West, and Mid Wales for the past decade and have blown away audience after audience with the power of their performances. John-Paul's strong vocal delivery, alongside Duncan's expert harmonising, combined with Duncan's blistering guitar solos and John-Paul's furious strumming is something to behold. But, equally, TangleJack can calm a crowd with their bucolic ballads and sure sense of classic melody writing. www.youtube.com/channel/UCw100kEd468aFOKea0mj0Mg www.facebook.com/TangleJack/ https://tanglejack.bandcamp.com/
An Dannsa Dub

An Dannsa Dub

9 May 2025 - 9 May 2025

Music is one big conversation. And few bands live at the heart of it like An Dannsa Dub. Born from a love of traditional Scottish folk, dub reggae and dance music, together they summon the joyous, communal energy of a cèilidh and a sound system session. Their name comes from the Gaelic for The Dub Dance. Their sound celebrates the ancient Gaelic and West African rhythms that influenced reggae, which in turn, via sound system culture and dub's pioneering remixes, produced modern dance music. Their live shows and recordings are a seamless, pulsating fusion of all this and more. An Dannsa Dub have carried this unique, unstoppable sound to the UK festival circuit. Theyve thrilled a 10,000 strong crowd at Boomtown Fair and have headlined a sold out show at Celtic Connections, the UK's premier Celtic music festival. 2021's self-titled EP "An Dannsa Dub" brought the group worldwide acclaim. The release has been played on BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio Nan Gàidheal and BBC Scotland. It's been supported by Don Letts, who included it in his Best Of 22, as well as Tom Robinson, Mungo's Hi Fi, and OBF. The debut album Air An Turas released 17th March 2023 features stacks of exciting collaborations, An Dannsa Dub are gearing up for a busy year of international touring. Keep your eyes peeled for a show near you Reviews Laurie Cuffe (Ceòl is Craic) We hired An Dannsa Dub to headline our Celtic Connections gig in January 2023. They didn't disappoint! Tickets sold out well in advance and on the night they provided a spectacular performance. Dealing with the band was an absolute pleasure from start to finish. Adrian Sherwood (On U Sound Reocrds) "An Dannsa Dub has the things I like, charm and character and does not sound like a pale imitation of anything else" Mungo's Hi Fi (Scotch Bonnet Records) The roots of folk and dub are deeply intertwined. An Dannsa succeeds in capturing the best of each tradition in a thoroughly original and exciting manner. Tom Robinson (BBC Radio) Golden Thread Single Release Review from Fresh On The Net Summer vibes and it's not even warm yet! Nice. This is quite quite a mix, as it combines folk music with reggae! What I like about this song is that theyve incorporated instruments you wouldnt usually associate with reggae a flute and a violin, and it works so well, the melodies they add really sets it off well. This song is about the passing of legacies through storytelling, music, and learning from seasons passing, it's essentially a song that really speaks for itself, very poetic. I think my favourite part of this song is the drums it's laid back from the intro, the cymbals are played on the bells to make it really ring out. I would be surprised if those drums are not live hats off to the drummer! I like the tape echo added to the instruments towards the end as well, this is dub elements at its best! https://www.andannsadub.com/

Martin Taylor & Alison Burns

Martin Taylor & Alison Burns

21 Jun 2025 - 21 Jun 2025

Martin Taylor is widely considered to be the world's foremost exponent of solo jazz and fingerstyle guitar playing. He dazzles audiences with a signature style that artfully combines his virtuosity, emotion and humour with a strong, engaging stage presence. In addition to his solo concerts and recordings, he has collaborated with musicians from many different genres, including Jeff Beck, Bill Wyman, Stephane Grappelli, Bryn Terfel, and George Harrison. Over his stellar career, Taylor has amassed a record 14 British Jazz Awards as a guitarist, received two Honorary Doctorates, and received an MBE for Services To Jazz Music. There are singers, and there are jazz singers. There are jazz singers, and there are a few artists who bring more to the microphone - their life, love, heartaches and joy. Alison Burns is one of those artists. She released her debut album Kissing Bug in 2007, followed by 1:AM, Last Train to Hauteville, Freternity, and Ill Be Home For Christmas. These acclaimed albums captured the essence of jazz divas like Julie London and Ella Fitzgerald but with a modern sensibility that resonates globally, underscoring her unique ability to marry the spirit of a bygone jazz age with a contemporary and wide-reaching appeal. Alison Burns is a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts and was awarded the International Brand Laureate Award whose other recipients have included Aretha Franklin, Taylor Swift and Adele. Songs for Nature Scottish-Canadian jazz singer Alison Burns and British fingerstyle guitarist Martin Taylor are thrilled to announce their new album, Songs for Nature. The release of the first single Nature Boy will coincide with Earth Day on April 22nd. Songs for Nature is scheduled for release on June 5th via P3 Music. More than just a collection of timeless jazz standards, Songs for Nature serves as a heartfelt tribute to the beauty of the natural world and the creative souls it has influenced. The album emerges as a beacon of hope amidst today's environmental challenges. In an era of global environmental upheaval, the redemptive power of music carves out a sanctuary of solace, a theme resonating deeply in Songs for Nature. Marking its release on World Environment Day, on June 5th, this album stands as a tribute to the enduring bond between music and nature. The first single Nature Boy evokes elemental emotions in the listener, akin to the experience of being immersed in nature. From awe and wonder to peace and tranquillity, from joy and melancholy, from the highest highs to the lowest lows, Alison voice resonates with the very essence of our natural world. When every action towards environmental preservation counts, Alison and Martin's Songs for Nature will inspire a gentler, kinder, more sustainable interaction with our planet. This album is not just about great love but more about the protection of all animals and nature. states Alison Burns. Through the timeless music and enchanting lyrics of these carefully hand-picked songs, we began to create a musical love letter to the natural world. The beauty and delicate balance of nature become ever clearer when we see ourselves as a part of it and not apart from it so as not to be indifferent to animals and the planet's precious ecosystems. Martin Taylor adds: Alison and I are both very passionate about nature, the environment, and the protection of all animal and plant life. This music reflects our love of nature and the gratitude we feel for being born on this unique planet. We are surrounded by miracles, and we are part of that miracle. We share this music to remind ourselves of the importance of being in harmony with nature and, through that connection, seeing our place within this miracle. Alison Burns brings a smoky, sultry, and understated delivery that seems tailor-made for the intimate embrace of a dimly lit jazz club yet has enthralled everyone from exuberant music festival attendees to British royalty. Martin Taylor, described by Pat Metheny as one of the most spectacular solo guitar players in the instrument's history, co-pilots this journey. Taylor, a virtuoso whose fingers dance over strings with a finesse that's both heart-stopping and profound, ensures that Songs for Nature is imbued with the touch of a master craftsman. The album was recorded amidst the pristine beauty of New York's Catskill Mountains. Produced by James Taylor and engineered by John Valesio (Norah Jones), Grammy-Award winner Dave ODonnell (Jason Mraz, Kurt Elling, Sheryl Crow), Cicely Balston (David Bowie, Nick Cave) - each song resonates with the care and intention that only true reverence for nature can inspire. Alison and Martin are not just musicians at the height of their powers; they are also sonic naturalists. This album is their field recording, capturing not the sounds of the wild but the emotions it stirs within us. Will Stratton & Jay Hammond (aka Trippers and Askers)
Will Stratton(pictured) is a songwriter and guitarist born in California's Central Valley and living in New York's Hudson Valley. His eighth LP, Points of Origin, is a sprawling concept album, telling a story about intensifying California wildfires, intergenerational nostalgia, and human connection. It is out on March 7th on Bella Union (worldwide) and Ruination Records (USA). His previous albums, 2021's The Changing Wilderness and 2017's Rosewood Almanac, received critical acclaim from Sir Elton John, Alexis Petridis (The Guardian), and journalists at Pitchfork, Mojo, Guitarist, and Uncut, among others. Collaborators have included Hannah Frances, Cassandra Jenkins, The Weather Station, and Ben Seretan. 'Points Of Origin' on Soundcloud https://on.soundcloud.com/jbnUNznP2GL9T9wH7 Trippers & Askers is the folk/spiritual jazz project of musician, sound artist, educator and researcher Jay Hammond. The group's latest album Acorn takes inspiration from Octavia Butler's immersive and frighteningly prescient novel Parable of the Sower. As an intertextual work, Acorn brings together a wide array of collaborators that include members of Wye Oak, Califone, former Sun Ra member Ken Moshesh and comic artist John Jennings to explore the book's narrative as it pertains to the very real political and emotional challenges of the present. The album was called "a shimmering homage to nature" by The Guardian. Will Stratton - The Changing Wilderness I was stunned when I heard it, it's such a beautiful album...the guitar playing is exquisite. Elton John, Rocket Hour on Apple Music An understated delight, Will Stratton's sixth album is beautifully written, beautifully played, and beautifully arranged, its gorgeous, cosseting sound masking a series of deeply uneasy songs in which even the most personal moments feel tainted by paranoia brought on by global events. Alexis Petridis, The Guardian's Best Albums of 2021 So Far Will Stratton has developed a musical character pretty much all his own... An album that sustains a beautiful atmosphere throughout. Tom Doyle, Mojo Haunting and evocative...any reference points fade into irrelevance...simply breathtaking, fatalistic folk. Johnny Sharp, Uncut A singer-songwriter of pure class and quality... If deft fingerstyle guitar with warm vocals and thought-provoking lyrics are your thing then you are in for a real treat with The Changing Wilderness... The songs deal with current world issues, invoking the spirit of greats such as Leonard Cohen and Nick Drake...Wonderful. David Mead, Guitarist Magical and charming indie-folk... Stratton's finest hour finds him at ease with both the beauty and solemnity of his vocation. Gareth Thompson, RocknReel Will Stratton - Rosewood Almanac Not a single note sounds out of place here, meshing into a breathtaking whole. Saby Reyes-Kulkarni, Pitchfork [Stratton] manages to convey gratitude, understanding, pain, and affection across the album and even within single songs. That's no small feat, and the guitar playing's really pretty, too. Marcy Donelson, AllMusic Rosewood Almanac delivers in an economical 34 minutes as vividly and as seductively as any other 21st century confessional singer-songwriter you care to mention. Terry Staunton, Record Collector Overall, Rosewood Almanacthe rosewood from his favoured guitars'suggests a conjoined Jackson Browne and Nick Drake with touches of Paul Simon. Rosewood Almanac more than transcends its influences. Kieron Tyler, Mojo

Sari Schorr & Friends - Acoustic Evening
Sari Schorr honed her craft in the vibrant music scene of New York City, where the city's diverse, gritty, and authentic sounds deeply influenced her unique blend of blues, rock, and soul. It was here, that Sari's powerful, 5-octave voice began to take shape. Sari's talent quickly caught the attention of influential figures in the music industry. Critics praised her electrifying performances and described her as having one of the greatest voices of the 21st century. Sari's big break came when she began touring with legendary guitarist Joe Louis Walker. This exposure catapulted her into the spotlight, earning her an induction into the New York Blues Hall of Fame in 2015, a testament to her impact on the genre. In Memphis that same year, a chance meeting with iconic record producer Mike Vernon, known for his work with John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, and Eric Clapton, took Sari's career to the next level. Within minutes of hearing her sing, Vernon offered to produce her debut album, "A Force of Nature." The album quickly established Sari as a rising star of blues rock, drawing comparisons to legends like Janis Joplin and Tina Turner. Sari's rise to fame is not just due to her vocal prowess but also her exceptional songwriting skills. Her lyrics often address global and societal issues, speaking on behalf of the people and standing tall as a voice for the silenced. Every line in her music carries weight, reflecting her beliefs about the role of artists in the modern world. Recently, Sari teamed up with legendary guitarist Robin Trower to create the critically acclaimed album "Joyful Sky," which soared to #1 on the Billboard Blues chart. Trower, impressed by Sari's rich voice, was inspired to rebuild his songcraft around her. Their collaboration pushed both artists creatively, with Trower adapting his style to complement Sari's vocal strengths. Her collaborations extend to sharing the stage with notable artists such as Walter Trout, Kiefer Sutherland, The Sweet, and Bernard Purdy. Sari's belief in positive collaborations is evident in her long-standing recording partnership with Henning Gehrke, with whom she is working on her third studio album, set for release in early 2025. Beyond her musical achievements, Sari is deeply committed to humanitarian causes. She has devoted her talent and energy to grand-scale music projects for social responsibility, most notably collaborating on "Toast to Freedom" for Amnesty International. This project saw her working alongside musical legends like Jimmy Barnes, Christine & The Queens, Florent Pagny and Warren Haynes. Sari's humanitarian efforts have taken her to Haiti and India, and she founded Matters, a non-profit organization that draws attention to humanitarian cause through the arts. Sari Schorr continues to inspire and captivate audiences worldwide, embodying the belief that music can heal and unite the world. Her journey from the streets of New York to international stages, her impactful collaborations, and her unwavering commitment to humanitarian causes make her a truly dynamic force in blues rock. https://www.sarischorr.com/ https://www.facebook.com/SariSchorrMusic/ https://www.instagram.com/sarischorr/ https://open.spotify.com/artist/65EcwCjlQu3XbQEbSqYBGl'si=TMd-lb2QSoGwRZ8OsVm20A&nd=1&dlsi=9e17332edd6c4716 https://x.com/sarischorr
Somewhere Over England

Somewhere Over England

11 Jul 2025 - 11 Jul 2025

Somewhere Over England are back. Not just at the Chapel but, having been one of Bath's most successful bands are reaching new audiences all over the world - 125,000 streams of their wonderful songs last month alone! Their intelligently crafted, narratively based indie folk sound, fused with deliciously catchy melodies and augmented by sumptuous vocal harmonies is reminiscent of the more reflective sounding guitar bands of the 90s. Along with Tears For Fears and The Korgis SOE emerged from the Bath local music scene in the 1980s - probably the greatest period for popular music in the city. One of the most popular bands in Bath at the time, Somewhere Over England finally gained recognition and chart success in 1991 not in the UK but in Spain with their huge melodic summer epic If I Ever Fail in Love finally reaching the No 1 slot in September of that year and remaining one of the most iconic tracks from that unique era. Supported by the Velo Band - playing unimaginably intense and beautifully crafted songs the Velo Band - having recently supported Steve Craddock of Ocean Colour Scene - really are a must see. https://youtu.be/P2d88SmjjOI https://youtu.be/qZ0qCqVss5E https://youtu.be/jGBPy1UJ82E

Timeless love songs like 'Lay Lady Lay' and 'I'll Be Your Baby Tonight'; the mysticism of 'All Along The Watchtower' or 'Mr Tambourine Man'. The lyrical tour de force of 'Hurricane' to the catchy simplicity of 'Knocking On Heaven's Door' - these and many more memorable songs, along with some of the stories behind them, are captured to perfection. Experience the thrill and energy of a full-blown electric Dylan concert planted firmly in the 1960s, a time when anything seemed possible, in a show that will remind you what real nostalgia feels like, and have you digging out your old vinyl to sustain the pleasure just that little bit longer.
Phoenix River Band

Phoenix River Band

21 Feb 2026 - 21 Feb 2026

Phoenix River Band's music, a potent mix of original songs with driving beats and soulful melodies, is a style best described as 'Atlanticana' a mix of Country Rock, Soft Rock, Blues and Rock fusing elements from both sides of 'The Pond' and as one reviewer said "imagine cruising in a Cadillac with Chris Rea at the wheel, Pink Floyd and the Allman Brothers in the back, and maybe some Eagles flying overhead Centred around Chris Melhuish, who writes the songs, for the most part sings them, and plays some pretty mean blues-infused guitar, is a band with a stellar line up: the rhythm section of Dave Dunster on drums and Mike Pitt on bass are the heart and soul of this outfit; keyboardist Andy Allpass on organ and piano, his playing tasteful and expert; guitarist Jim Hodgson plays acoustic and electric guitars adding depth to the sound nicely and vocalists Jo Melhuish and Shelley Dunster bringing their signature harmonies all of them integral to the band's distinctive sound. The band are now working on their 4th album which will be released in the New Year to accompany their earlier 'Empty Road', 'Lights' and 'Under the All Seeing Eye (Live)' albums website: www.phoenixriverband.com YouTube Channel: www.youtube.com/channel/UCyt-TDQjaca2QkaveV300tA/

Blue Rose Code - Duo Tour

12 Jun 2025 - 12 Jun 2025

Blue Rose Code come into 2025 with a fresh wind in their sails. The last year saw sparkling reviews in the national press for award winning album, 'Bright Circumstance', radio play on BBC R2 & R6 as well as an appearance on the R4 institution 'Loose Ends'. Folk album of the year with 5-stars in the Scotsman, their song 'Sadie' nominated for Song Of The Year at the Americana awards, a headline Sunday night closing slot at the legendary Cambridge Folk Festival, 2024 was a great year. Adding to that, Ross Wilson is now an in demand co-writer, with one of his songs written with legend Steve Knightley appearing on Knightley's brand new record. The plan for this year is to take duo shows out across the UK and Ireland, to smaller venues, workshopping songs for a new record and performing music from the BRC canon. Just read the quotes, they're no joke, from The Times, Uncut, The Spectator. No gimmicks here. No smoke and mirrors and no mistake. In the words of Americana UK - 'One of the country's best live acts right now! Get out and see them wherever you can!' 'A set of almost religious intensity and sincerity. Wilson makes widescreen soul in the spirit of Van Morrison, and was full of the holy fire of live performance.' The Times 'Ravishingly beautiful, a burnished blaze of Caledonian Soul, muted jazz and poetic recitation' UNCUT 'Jubilant, prayerful, compassionate, Caledonian soul maestro Ross Wilson's latest iteration of his Blue Rose Code band sees his songs bursting with heart' The Scotsman 'An expert ensemble, led by Edinburgh singer-songwriter Ross Wilson, brought the spontaneity and informality of an after-hours pub session to the Pavilion Theatre. The effect was both stirring and meditative.' The Spectator

Brooks Williams & Aaron Catlow

Brooks Williams & Aaron Catlow

1 Oct 2025 - 1 Oct 2025

January 2020 marks thirty years since Brooks Williams first album came out. Thirty years since the Washington Post's glowing review of that album. Thirty years since National Public Radio's Noah Adams interviewed him about that album. It's where it all began. The subsequent twenty-eight recordings, the countless international tours and festival appearances, the countless hours and miles on the road and in the studio. When it came time to put together an album reflecting songs from across those thirty years, Williams immediately thought of fiddler Aaron Catlow. The two met on a tour in The Netherlands in the snowy winter of 2019. I loved his tone and vibe immediately says Williams, the breadth of styles under his fingertips reminded me of how I think about my music and I thought hed bring a great sound to the project and tour. And so he has! Listen the interplay on Williams signature cover of Dave Alvin's King of California or the drive of Williams Not Haunted Anymore. The interplay was instantly, and intuitively, present. Williams, a Stateboro, Georgia USA native, now makes his home in Cambridge UK. Besides his busy solo touring schedule, he collaborates with Boo Hewerdine in their State of the Union project, as well as an on-going collaboration with Rab Noakes. Williams has also orchestrated one-time collaborations with Hans Theessink, Sloan Wainwright, Guy Davis and Sally Barker. AmericanaUK described him as having, a beautiful voice that you just melt into. Blues Bytes said, Pure talent, hard work and relentless touring have brought him to the pinnacle of his career. Aaron Catlow is half of the Bristol based duo with Kit Hawes. Their take on acoustic and folk music is fresh and inventive. They re-shape traditional music as well as write their own. When not gigging with Kit, Aaron also plays with Yola Carter, Sheelanagig and, now, Brooks Williams. Joni Mitchell is one of the most influential artists of the modern age, rising to stardom in the late 1960's, Her music and songwriting is the jewel in the crown of the Woodstock generation. Bursting onto the scene with a sound entirely her own, Joni earned the respect of her musical peers and the love of her audiences Worldwide. Joni would go on to mine the depths of her emotive landscape and push the boundaries of songcraft and artistry for over five decades. Mitchell's albums and songs are widely recognised as masterpieces, standards that would become the soundtrack to the lives of countless fans throughout the world and continue to draw and inspire new generations of fans. Zervas & Pepper are Welsh Singer/Songwriters Paul Zervas and Kathryn Pepper that have been creating and performing original music for over a decade professionally. The carefully-crafted set list will feature songs from Joni's million-selling albums such as Clouds, Ladies of the Canyon, For The Roses, Court and Spark, featuring many cuts from her 1972 landmark release 'Blue'. We are musical purist's Kathryn Pepper explains If we're going to present Joni's music for a live show then we are going to aim to recreate the performances almost exactly as they were intended, as songwriters and performers ourselves we know that every single note, inflection, momentary pause was placed there by the artist with intent.. We hold Joni Mitchell's music in the utmost regard and so we aim to capture its inner spirit and channel its majesty into each live performance Paul Zervas says Joni's music has so much depth, musically, lyrically and melodically, there's so much to get your head around when attempting to recreate this classic songbook.. As a guitarist who learned to play from listening to Joni's incredible catalog, it's just staggering the sheer amount of alternate tunings, variances of chord positions and nuanced harmonic voicings that have gone into all these songs. We aim to be as authentic as possible when performing this music as it's these important facets that the fans want to hear, with Joni's music her tunings and alternative melodic approaches are just as important as her lyrics, its the interplay between to two that create the full picture of Mitchell's evocative landscape. As young songwriters Zervas & Pepper like many music fans were beguiled by Mitchell's music.. This music had such a profound effect on me that I completely immersed myself within Joni's albums. Musically complex, lyrically intriguing.. I became an avid listener.. I learned to use my voice in ways I hadn't for my early bands Kathryn recalls.. We've thought long and hard about the type of show we ourselves would love to see as lifelong fans of Joni Mitchell's music, We kept returning to what we consider to be the nucleus of Mitchell's work, that pivotal break-out period 1968-1976 Reprise/Asylum Record era with the voice, guitar and piano front and centre. An intimate acoustic vibe that should feel like the audience is having a private listening session at Joni's house in Laurel Canyon during the summer of love. Whilst we may not be able to actually fly in Crosby, Stills & Nash, James Taylor or Mama Cass.. we hope to invoke that spirit in our show.
