Focus

Focus

4 Sept 2026 - 4 Sept 2026

With their unique brand of progressive rock, Focus manifested themselves at the start of the '70s as the most successful and appreciated of all the Dutch pop-rock exports. Fronted by founding member Thijs Van Leer, and best known for their hits "Hocus Pocus", "House of The King" and "Sylvia", as well as critically acclaimed albums 'Moving Waves', 'Focus 3' and 'Hamburger Concerto', the iconic Dutch music masters are back with their tenth album, which is guaranteed to please their legions of fans! After a comeback in the early 2000s, which resulted in the well-received albums 'Focus 8' and 'Focus 9', the band regrouped with a fantastic new line-up. Along with Thijs van Leer on vocals, flute and keyboards, back on the drums is famed Focus drummer Pierre van der Linden, who joined the group on their second album 'Moving Waves' in 1972. Internationally renowned for his rhythmic skills, Pierre remains a defining factor in the Focus sound. Guitarist Menno Gootjes, who participated in Focus at an earlier stage, and acclaimed bass player Udo Pannekeet, complete the band's current line-up. Recently, Focus's biggest hit, "Hocus Pocus" was used in a 4-minute Nike commercial before the World Cup broadcast. Focus music can be regularly heard on Top Gear and Saxondale on TV in the UK. A new Focus era has arrived! There is a rejuvenated passion amongst the band as they released the first studio album for 6 years, Focus 11, in early 2019. They toured the world in support of the new album, and are now excited re their 50th Anniversary tour. Unfortunately, the world situation had halted the 50th Anniversary celebrations, but Focus now are happy touring the world again. Eagerly awaited, we are pleased to announce the forthcoming release of FOCUS 12, the brand new studio album from Focus. For Thijs van Leer (75) and Pierre van der Linden (78), age is nothing more than a number. Both continue to contribute to Focus with a passion. Thijs, who has written the majority of the new album, rises at 4.30 am every day in order to work on his compositions. Whilst the album boasts some of Pierre's greatest and most energetic drum sequences to date. Allowing the younger guard to take the audio reins for the first time, Focus 12 is produced by band members Udo Pannekeet and Menno Gootjes, who also contribute two compositions on the album. Thijs commented, How beautiful life can be when a band plays so easily and so together. Focus 12 was recorded at the world-renowned Wisseloord Studios in the band's native country, of the Netherlands. A first for Focus, the album features a completely improvised piece which was captured as it spontaneously took place in the studio, during the recording process. Thus proving that more than 50 years on, the band are still excited by undertaking something new and different. Van Leer continues, Thanks, Pierre, Udo and Menno for so much musical passion! The band continue their long association with legendary artist Roger Dean, whose stunning artwork graces the front cover and packaging. The vinyl version features a stunning gatefold sleeve. Focus continues to be one of the hardest working rock bands on the planet, regularly touring the globe playing live. Last July, they undertook a string of live dates across the USA and Canada, as part of Asia's Heat Of The Moment Tour, alongside Asia, Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash and Curved Air. Thijs van Leer concludes, After all these years, Focus is in the here and now; the triumph of survival!

The Jeff Beck Experience (Tribute)

The Jeff Beck Experience (Tribute)

11 Sept 2026 - 11 Sept 2026

Tobias Thompson Guitars Ive been playing guitar for over 35 years, but my journey started with the violin in the county orchestra. Everything changed the day I heard Comfortably NumbI walked out, bought my first Strat, then came Jeff Beck's Guitar Shop ... and I never looked back. I studied music in college, and seeing Pink Floyd live in 1990 cemented my decision to pursue music wholeheartedly. Since then, Ive taught guitar, recorded, and performed extensively, always pushing myself to grow as a musician. I play Fender, Peavey, and Music Man guitars, constantly seeking the perfect tone to bring my passion to life on stage. This is what I was meant to do, and I wouldnt have it any other way. Emma Kelsey Vocals Emma started her career studying ballet & modern and won a place at the prestigious Performing Arts College Doreen Bird for 3 yrs. Emma's worked ever since- initially as a dancer on Cruise Ships & contracts abroad, then became a Vocalist. Her versatility has enabled Emma to sing a variety of genres and styles, from performing as a soloist & as an Abba girl in Tributes to Abba & backing vocals for Tributes to Elvis & Pink Floyd in Theatres throughout the UK and Touring internationally. Emma's really enjoying the Jeff Beck experience - I can see why he was referred to as guitarist's guitarist, utterly brilliant !! Simon Wright Bass and Vocals Ive been a working live and session musician for over 40 years, with music always at the centre of my life. Along the way, I became a music producer and, for the past decade, an established voice artist, narrating books for Audible, ACX, and Podium Audio. Ive been a lifelong, avid fan of Jeff Becka love that's inspired much of my creative journey. Back in the early eighties, I played trumpet in brass bands, but things got serious, and my path evolved into something bigger. Playing anything with strings has been my main thing, and providing the bass in JBE is, without doubt, the most enjoyable aspect to date! Music and storytelling have shaped my life, and they continue to drive everything I do. Ben Topley Keyboards and vocals Ive been playing and producing music of all kinds for over 30 years, growing up on a steady diet of Pink Floyd and progressive rock that deeply influenced my style. While I play drums, guitar, and bass in The Jeff Beck Experience, I focus on keyboards. I studied Film and Performing Arts at college, which helped shape my creative approach. These days, I also teach Yoga and Tai Chi, blending movement and mindfulness into my life alongside music. I currently use a Roland Fantom, a vintage Korg CX3 (1978), and a Kawai 100f to craft our unique sound. Dan Guest Drums and Percussion Born in the 1980s in Wolverhampton, drummer Dan Guest grew up on an eclectic mixture of Elvis Presley, Roxy Music, Sting, The Cure, Classic Rock & 90's Grunge. A now Oxfordshire-based session drummer, percussionist, composer, producer and private tutor, Dan's rhythmic journey has led to him performing, touring and recording with a host of artists and bands, including: The Bay City Rollers, Alvin Stardust, Paolo Nutini, Empires Decline, Angie Brown, 35 Seconds, Hyper Hyper Girl Lover & Miranda Dickinson, as well as performing with many other original, function and tribute bands. Touring around the globe, Dan has provided solid foundations for a varied line-up of ensembles.
