A message from Jason Manford: Hello there, Jason here, thanks for stopping by. I've been wondering for a while now, why is local stand up comedy not high up on the list of what people think about doing when looking for a great night out. So where do we go? The local pub for a few drinks? Cinema? Maybe a meal with a loved one or a cheeky midweek quiz with some mates. Some people still go out clubbing at one of those city centre discotheques! (shudders). Even ten-pin bowling is considered higher up than comedy! How can that be? If that’s not enough, he’s also walked 724km around the length of the Israel Wall in the West Bank, been credited with changing the law on tax avoidance, started a comedy club in Palestine with Dr Sam Beale and campaigned successfully for things like trade union recognition for cinema workers and getting multinationals to change their practices. Chris Difford co-wrote the classic Squeeze hits Cool For Cats, Up The Junction, Labeled with Love, Tempted, and Black Coffee In Bed, alongside Squeeze co founder Glenn Tilbrook. He has co written with Elton John, Jools Holland and worked along side such great people as Bryan Ferry while hosting songwriting workshops for over 30 years. He'll be touring in Spring 2027, armed with a new book, for an evening of classic hits hilarious conversation and readings from the book itself.
