4 Jul 2026 - 1 Sept 2026

This Is The Kit, the nom de plume of Kate Stables, has been in existence since the '00s, when Kate moved to Bristol and started playing and collaborating with local musicians. It was here where her debut album Krulle Bol took shape, recorded and produced by PJ Harvey's long-standing musical collaborator John Parish. Her second album, 2010's Wriggle Out The Restless was made in France alongside members of Francois and the Atlas Mountains before final touches from TITK's extended musical family were added in Bristol, Belgium and several points in between. The aim is to have fun playing with people whose work I really like, says Kate in her simple and direct fashion. The more you exchange and share with people the better things get and the more you learn. This is the Kit has opened for artists such as The National, Jose Gonzales, and Iron & Wine and was selected by Sharon Van Etten as her Favourite New Artist in an interview with Pitchfork. This is the Kits' 2015 album Bashed Out, was produced by The National's Aaron Dessner and released on his Brassland label. Bashed Out features performances from Aaron, his brother Bryce Dessner, Benjamin Lanz (Beirut), Thomas Bartlett (Doveman, The Gloaming) and Matt Barrick (The Walkmen) alongside her regular cast of collaborators. On its release, Bashed Out received critical acclaim, and was quickly seen as a breakthrough record. Packed out performances followed, including a headline show at the Scala, and the album was picked as Guy Garvey's Album of The Year for 2015 on BBC 6 Music. 2016 saw This is the Kit continue to tour relentlessly, including shows in Paris, a Scottish Highlands tour and an appearance at BBC 6music Festival in Bristol. Following on from a raft of shows and festival dates throughout the summer (including appearances at Festival Number 6, Bestival, Cambridge Folk Festival, WOMAD, Glastonbury and Guy Garvey's Meltdown) This Is the Kit played their biggest London show to date with a rapturously received sold out London Union Chapel in November, before commencing work on the follow up to Bashed Out. Admittedly the female-driven alternative acts that inspired the band such as Veruca Salt, X, The Breeders, L7 and Babes In Toyland (the later of whom Skating Polly toured with in Europe) aren’t typical reference points for most of today’s up-and-coming bands, but maybe they should be.

Ladylike

1 Oct 2026 - 10 Oct 2026

The Brighton based quartet - Georgia Butler (vocals, guitar), Spencer Withey (vocals, guitar, synth), James Ely (drums), and Archie Sagers (six-string bass) serve their folk rare: raw and pastoral, but with a side of textural, atmospheric builds directly wired into the tensions of the modern world. It’s a formula that has gained them slots at Green Man; Left Of The Dial; The Great Escape; and Dot To Dot, plus support slots with Ugly, Mary in the Junkyard and Lime Garden. Early champions at radio and press include KEXP, BBC 6 Music, Apple 1, Radio X, DIY, So Young, and Rough Trade. The band’s forthcoming debut EP was recorded with producer Ali Chant (Aldous Harding, Perfume Genius, PJ Harvey). It captures the quiet urgency that has always been ladylike’s hallmark. Across four tracks, they explore cycles renewal, and the beauty of persistence, finding poetry in English idioms and the banality of the mundane.
Lydia Lunch & Marc Hurtado play Suicide & Alan Vega
Lydia Lunch is a nomadic gypsy in eternal metamorphosis that almost lost her life for her art dozens of times in 35 years. Musician, writer, photographer and performance artist, she appeared in the New York music scene in 1977 with the project founder No Wave, Teenage Jesus and the Jerks. In search of inspiration and cooperation she worked with Karen Finley, Hubert Selby Jr, Nick Cave, William Burroughs or Virginie Despentes, she lived in New York, Brooklyn, New Orleans, San Francisco, Pittsburgh, Los Angeles, London. She has visited 656 cities to perform on stage for concerts, spoken word, installations in clubs, theaters and museums. Marc Hurtado is a musician, performer, poet, painter, producer and filmmaker who co-founded the French duo ETANT DONNES with his brother Eric in 1977. He has made more than 20 albums and concerts around the world in places like Kitchen (New York), the Fondation Cartier (Paris), the Centre Pompidou (Paris), the Sonar Festival (Barcelona), the Atonal Festival (Berlin), or Transmusicales (Rennes). Apart from this duo and solo project Sol Ixent, he has collaborated with many cult figures including Alan Vega, Genesis P.Orridge, Michael Gira (Swans), Gabi Delgado (DAF), Craig Walker (Archive) , Pascal Comelade, Z'ev, Philippe Grandrieux, Christophe, Saba Komossa (Delkom), Mark Cunningham (MARS), Bachir Attar and the Master Musicians of Jajouka. His films were screened in Beaubourg Paris, FID Marseille, the French Cinematheque in Paris, the Locarno Film Festival, BAFICI Festival Buenos Aires, Mostra de Valencia and recently at the MoMA in New York, which also acquired his latest feature film "Jajouka, something good comes to you" in their collection. Lydia Lunch crossed paths with Alan Vega and Martin Rev of Suicide upon arrival in New York at age 16 in the 70s. The first show of which she attended was a shock; a revelation on a new form of a concert, a total show, theatrical, free, violent. Since then, a close relationship united them, and Lydia Lunch performed on stage as well as on their [Suicide] record "Frankie Teardrop." Marc Hurtado had already met Alan Vega and Lydia Lunch on his Etant Donnéss RE-UP album in 1999, and he formed the project My Lover The Killer in 2013 with Lydia Lunch, recording an album and playing on stage together. Since 2014 Lydia Lunch and Marc Hurtado have joined forces for this event centred around Suicide and Alan Vega songs- it will be a kind of sonic "Blitzkrieg", a visual shamanic ceremony, where both artists will burn their souls in the volcanic heart of the music of Alan Vega and Suicide, alongside kaleidoscopic film INFINITE DREAMERS directed by Marc Hurtado and dedicated to Alan Vega and Martin Rev.
