MaePedairyn dwyn ynghd dalentau pedair o artistiaid gwerin arobryn amlycaf Cymru:Gwenan Gibbard,Gwyneth Glyn,Meinir GwilymaSin James. A'r pedair yn artistiaid rhyngwladol blaengar eu hunain, maent yn ffynnu wrth gydweithio a pherfformio'n fyw. Gyda'i gilydd dnt bywyd newydd i ddeunydd traddodiadol gyda threfniannau newydd ar delynau, gitrs, piano ac acordion. Mae eu perfformiadau byw wedi cydio yn nychymyg a chalonnau cynulleidfaoedd, gyda'u harmonau ysgubol, ymdriniaeth grefftus o'r traddodiad, ac agosatrwydd y caneuon maent yn eu cyfansoddi. Gan gyfuno eu doniau unigryw fel chwedl-ganwyr, maent yn tynnu eu deunydd o'r traddodiad barddol a llafar, yn ogystal gwerin. Pedair, feminine form of 'pedwar' ('four' in Welsh) draws on the talents of four of Wales' most prominent and award-winning folk artists:Gwenan Gibbard,Gwyneth Glyn,Meinir GwilymandSin James. Groundbreaking international artists in their own right, all four thrive on collaboration and the thrill of live performance. Together they bring to life traditional material with new arrangements on harps, guitars, piano and accordion. Their live performances have captured the imaginations and hearts of audiences with their sweeping harmonies, fresh interpretations of the Welsh folk tradition, and intimacy of songwriting. Bringing together their unique gifts as song-tellers, the source material and inspiration from the poetic, oral and folk traditions of Wales and beyond. This is coupled with their deftness as songwriters, responding to the current state of the world, the resilience of nature, with a particular interest in giving voice to the woman.

Tri gr ifanc o berfeddion Cymru, gydai hanes hirfaith o fynychur capel yw VR , sydd wedi mynd ati i gloddio i gynnwrf diwylliannol y canrifoedd diwethaf ac wedi cael eu hysbrydoli gan stori anhygoel cyfnod pan gafodd cerddoriaeth a dawns draddodiadol Cymru eu llethu gan gapelir Methodistiaid, ac, yn gynharach, ei hiaith gan y Ddeddf Uno. Fel archaeolegwyr sain, mae VR wedi darganfod perlau hirgolledig syn taflu goleuni newydd ar draddodiad gwerin bywiog syn harneisio egni amrwd y ffidil gyda cheinder y feiolin, harddwch cerddoriaeth siambr gyda llawenydd a phleserau sesiwn dafarn. Mae eu caneuon, a genir gyda harmonau lleisiol pwerus, yn adrodd straeon am y bobl oedd yn brwydro 200 mlynedd yn l, yn yr un modd ag y mae llawer yn brwydro heddiw. Maen seinwedd hyfryd ac unigryw syn cysylltu ar draws y canrifoedd i roi ymdeimlad o berthyn, o gymuned i ni, a theimlad hudolus o ddiffyg pwysau a rhyddid dyrchafol. Derbyniodd albwm cyntaf VR yn 2019 T Ein Tadau adolygiad 5 yng nghylchgrawn Songlines a nifer o wobrau, enwebiadau a llwyddiannau. Caiff eu halbwm newydd islais a genir ei ryddhau ar label bendigedig ym mis Hydref 2022. VR yw Jordan Price Williams (soddgrwth, llais), Aneirin Jones (ffidil, llais) a Patrick Rimes (fiola, ffidil, llais). VR are three young men from deepest, darkest chapel-going Wales who have mined the cultural upheaval of past centuries and drawn inspiration from the incredible story of a time when Wales traditional music and dance was suppressed by Methodist chapels, and, earlier, its language by the Act of Union. As audio archaeologists, VR have unearthed long-lost nuggets that shed a new light on a vibrant folk tradition that harnesses the raw energy of the fiddle with the finesse of the violin, the beauty of chamber music with the joy and hedonism of a pub session. Their songs, sung with powerful vocal harmonies, tell stories of the people who struggled 200 years ago, just as many struggle today. Its a wonderful and unique soundscape that connects across the centuries to give us a sense of belonging, of community, and a magical feeling of weightlessness and uplifting freedom. VRs 2019 debut album Ty Ein Tadau (House Of Our Fathers) received a 5 review in Songlines magazine and numerous awards nominations and wins. Their new album 'islais a genir' (a sung whisper) releases on the bendigedig label in October 2022. The name VR is a word in the Welsh language meaning above, aloft, floatingor simply Up, with the spelling inspired by Hen Gymraeg (Old Welsh). It describes the sensation of playing this kind of vocal & instrumental chamber music - all six voices independently interacting with one another, without the presence of any kind of anchor or safety ropes (be those anchors rhythmic like a drum kit, or melodic such as fretted or keyboard instruments). Its an experience that is equally exhilarating and terrifying for the performersand hopefully engaging for the listener! VR are Jordan Price Williams (cello, voice), Aneirin Jones (violin, voice) and Patrick Rimes (viola, violin, voice).
