The all-female version of Sheilas Island sees four out-of-condition, middle-aged businesswomen set off on a team building exercise and succeed in becoming the first people ever to get shipwrecked on an island in the Lake District. Bound in fog, menaced by wildlife and cut off from the world, this perfunctory middle-class exercise turns into a carnival of recriminations, French cricket and a sausage.
What should have been a bonding process for Denise, Julie, Fay and Sheila turns into a muddy, bloody fight for survival. When the night settles in, strange things happen out in the wilds. What took place on Sheilas Island that foggy November weekend, none of this particular middle-management team would ever forget. This is a comedy that will have you stranded in laughter and wondering about a sausage that can feed four stressed out women. Dont forget your life raft and whistles when you come to the theatre to watch this all female comedy.
Upclose Theatre has been producing plays and theatre for over 10 years and we have done things in ways that others may not. We are a community group that has toured Devon, Cornwall and even Somerset, with a London tour in the planning. We have visited in excess of 40 different venues. These include the Landmark, The Queens Theatre, The Barnfield and a sell out at the Northcott Theatre, Exeter.
