Caravan of Love is a collection of four stories set in a caravan in Scarborough played between two characters at a time. These “couples” never meet, though their stories are connected in one way or another. The show is in two acts, with two stories in each act. This is a jukebox musical, with brand new arrangements of popular songs woven into the stories, making it a very unique experience! Jenny and Babs have been friends for, well, forever. As with many long-term friendships, they have grown apart but still keep in touch and love each other dearly. They haven’t seen each other in person for 6 years. Finding themselves single and, maybe ready to mingle, they have arranged a holiday at Jenny’s caravan in Scarbados to let their hair down and hopefully meet their Prince Charming. Sash and Felix are best mates and used to party hard together in the 90’s rave scene. Too hard some might say. Their lives have taken very different paths but they still get on like a house on fire. The “boys” have booked a “luxurious” 90’s weekender at a resort in Scarborough to relive their glory days and, you know, “What happens in Scarborough, stays in Scarborough”. Will this weekend be all it’s cracked up to be? Martin and Betty have been the magicians and entertainers on the caravan park for many years, staying in the same caravan, but the cracks are beginning to show in their relationship and Betty is sick of having to deal with feral kids and their parents in the audiences. She wants to get a different act, while having to deal with her conscience and a deep secret. Martin is happy as the magician but hides a lot of his feelings in his wicked sense of humour and usually Betty takes the brunt of the jokes. Martin is also holding something in, and maybe Betty's secret will be the catalyst for him to reveal all. Sam and Phoebe have booked the caravan as a last-chance saloon attempt to keep their marriage, which is stretched to breaking point with Phoebe's drinking, which she tries - unsuccessfully - to hide. Sam is working late each night and finding excuses not to be home. Neither of them are happy, but Phobe still wants to make it work. She has noticed that Sam is getting distant now, but Phoebe has her own little secret which could break the relationship totally. RECOMMENDED AGE - 14+

Kenny Thomas was one of the most popular UK soul dance vocalists of the early 1990s. His biggest UK hit came in 1991 with ‘Thinking About Your Love’ (number 4), while his debut album sold more than 600, 000 copies in the UK alone. Other hit singles spawned by that debut included ‘Outstanding’, ‘The Best Of You’ and ‘Tender Love’, and also resulted in a Brit Award nomination for Best British Male Vocalist and Best British Newcomer. The warm, relaxed dance grooves of that debut were replicated on a second album that continued Thomas’ massive commercial success. Guest musicians this time round included the Young Disciples, Nu Colours and the Reggae Philharmonic Orchestra. This time some of the bonhomie of the original set was more restrained, with a slightly more mature lyrical vision reflecting more real-life experiences. Over the years Kenny has retained an extremely loyal following on the Soul/Funk circuit and is often one of the first names ‘considered’ for ‘Soul All dayers’ etc. However, now in 2021 Kenny has recruited a new band and is about to go out live to celebrate the 30th anniversary of his debut album ‘Voices’, that featured the hits Thinking about your love, Outstanding, Tender Love & Best of you In addition to the album Kenny has just released in conjunction with Dr Packer a new version of the seminal Fatback Band classic ‘I found lovin’ – this song has been a staple of Kenny’s live sets for some time and has already landed in several Soul based singles charts across the UK
