Acoustic Encounters - Evenings of hand-woven dreams These evenings are taking place on the third Wednesday of each month between March and July 2026, at Sheffield's historic Crookes Social Club. Each evening will feature three primarily acoustic acts playing a 40/45 minute set each, all for £10 entry. An aim is to highlight local talent, but also welcome acts from further afield. Westside Cowboy is a Manchester-based four-piece band known for their raw, lo-fi sound with a blend of country, trad, and early harmony-coated rock 'n' roll.

Oxford favourites play the hometown finale of their ‘StorNoMore’ tour. Having recorded & toured together for over a decade, the quartet will bring their unique brand of homegrown "hebridean headrush" indie folk back to the town where they first honed it, and which their lyrics describe.

Adult DVD have already gained a number of admirers, receiving support from BBC Introducing, Radio X (John Kennedy), and Amazing Radio in both the UK and US.

Gentleman’s Dub Club is a nine-piece band that formed in Leeds in early 2006. With a style based in dub, ska and roots reggae, GDC have burst onto the UK circuit, rocking gigs and festivals up and down the country with their super high energy show. Combining tight grooves and a heavyweight sound, Gentleman’s Dub Club bring the party to crowds of all ages hungry for a dance floor workout, with their gigs often ending in a frenzied mosh pit reminiscent of a mid 80’s ska night. Live effects and mixing make for a crystal clear sound, and the band’s larger than life stage presence makes for a mesmerising experience.

Lime Garden are a four-piece band jumping over genre boundaries to create a sound that is uplifting yet somehow laid-back. They achieve this neat trick by harnessing catchy melodies and earworm hooks into an almost nonchalant net of lo-fi sounds, which is then sprinkled with a dry-wit to bring their world to life. The Dizzy Club have been doing this since 1993 jazz, swing and Latin grooves woven through the American Songbook, punctuated by the odd curveball (Prince Bobby Womack Yes, really), and lit up by four albums which are now staples of every Sheffield-dwellers' jazz collection!
