A vibrant weekend of brilliant music from across the wide folk scene. Well known acts, new discoveries, and special events – all within city centre venues. Get ready for an expanded folk festival experience! This year, we're taking over three city centre venues: The Old Bell Hotel, the Museum & Art Gallery on Wardwick, and 19 Chapel Street, plus fringe activity throughout the city. Enjoy access to all weekend events with a single ticket. Weekend tickets will give access to any of the events, subject to the capacity of each venue. If one venue is full, there will be something else happening somewhere! We’re very excited about the artists we have coming this year – but, we’re keeping them under wraps for just a little longer, as we’re making a very limited number of tickets available at a super-low price, before we announce names (if you’re on the folk mailing list, we’ll be sending you an email with a code to use!). Early Bird tickets will then be available until 31st May, followed by standard pricing. A small number of tickets for individual concerts available in a few months’ time. Indian Vocal Music Concert Experience the soulful magic of ghazals and geet at this specially commissioned Shaam-e-Ghazal evening, featuring talented upcoming vocalists from the East Midlands, Satish Verma and Priya Kaur, accompanied by amazing musicians Kamalbir Singh, Shubham Tajeda & Upneet Singh. The evening will pay tribute to reknowned Punjabi poet late Shiv Kumar Batalvi and honour the music of ghazal legends like Jagjit & Chitra Singh, Mehdi Hassan, Ghulam Ali, Madam Noor Jahan and Reshma. If you love the timeless ghazals, this evening is for you! It will transport you to a world of melody and emotion. This concert is suitable for age 10+. Late comers will not be permitted entry until interval.
