The terraced gardens themselves are Category A listed a and although they were first laid out in the 1630s, they were spectacularly remodelled in the 1830s and are now regarded as a masterpiece of Victorian landscaping.

Charity Garden Opening - Drummond Castle Gardens
Activities and events for a great family day out. The gardens of Drummond Castle were originally laid out in 1630 by John Drummond, second Earl of Perth. In 1830 the parterre was changed to an Italian style. One of the most interesting features is the multi-faceted sundial designed by John Mylne, Master Mason to Charles I. The formal garden is said to be one of the finest in Europe and is the largest of its type in Scotland. This is a fundraising event for the open garden charity Scotland’s Gardens Scheme which raises money for hundreds of local charities.
