Viva Morrissey's concerts are based on Morrissey's present-day solo shows, which makes their live shows markedly different from those of tributes to The Smiths. Tonight Viva Morrissey will be playing the entire Your Arsenal album in its original running order, followed by a selection of the best loved songs of The Smiths and Morrissey. The John Hackett Band The John Hackett Band embodies the spirit of progressive rock. From John's pastoral flute textures, through the funky interplay between drummer Duncan Parsons and bassist Jeremy Richardson to the intricacies of Nick Fletcher's lead guitar the group embrace pop, rock, jazz, classical, funk and all stops in-between, from the tenderest of ballads to hair-raising instrumental workouts! John Hackett has been a much-loved and admired figure in the progressive rock scene since the mid-70's; best-known for his flute work with his brother, former Genesis guitarist, Steve Hackett on albums such as Voyage of The Acolyte, Sketches of Satie and Please Dont Touch alongside his own solo albums Checking Out Of London, Another Life and The Piper Plays His Tune Nick Fletcher is probably the best jazz rock guitarist in the country. His fluency is astounding, plus he possesses a first-rate classical guitar technique to boot! I consider Nick Fletcher to be an absolute star Steve Hackett The band have never sounded better, and they are musically as tight as a drum skin at present. David Edwards, The Progressive Aspect March 2024 The Gift are a musically eclectic outfit, although rooted in prog, their sound embodies a harder rock edge along with pastoral passages and time signature changes.

Attila the Stockbroker launches Heart on my Sleeve, his new Collected Works Exploding into public consciousness in the early 1980s via two John Peel sessions and a Melody Maker front cover, poet, musician, journalist and political activist, Attila The Stockbroker, has spent forty years touring the world performing his unique brand of spoken word, poetry and music. Having played almost four thousand gigs in twenty four countries, releasing countless books and records along the way, Attila's Collected Works has just been published by Cherry Red Books, the book arm of the celebrated independent record label which released his early 80s albums and his 2015 autobiography Arguments Yard. 'Heart On My Sleeve' brings together Attila's collected poems and lyrics, celebrating the fortieth anniversary of his first appearance and a lifetime doing what he loves. The Peoples Friend- Played around 60 gigs in the late 90s, almost all in London. Appearing at then The Dublin Castle many times They had a beautiful gang of fans, and now theyre back and we cant wait. The more interesting side of Indie rock at the time, melding psychedelic rock with punk and touches of Prog, an eclectic and compelling mix, there's shades of Cardiacs here, in fact Tim Smith was a fan who ended up engineering the band. The songs were written by Steffan Kay and the lyrics by Jamie Kelsey. The original line up had Jay manoray Starkey on drums, Lewis dark lord Perry on guitar and Kirsty dragon Newton on bass and vocals. After Kirsty left, Jamie Carol joined them on bass and Cara Vella on violin and vocals. Stone Cold Sweethearts I Am The Devil! not half- pop eyed punk rifferama (tho they say Britpop inspired) with a good Lincolnshire twang in the strident vocal, sort of reminiscent of recent work by Big Special vocally but these guys are trad guitar bass drums and kick plenty butt. The Mooches Sprightly hook-laden indie pop with a nod to new wave and power pop,up-beat catchy tunes, great stuff

Buzzcocks Vs Ramones did Manchester's punk rock Beatles ever share a stage with New York's Paul McCartney inspired kings of ramalama We think not, although we do seem to have stumbled upon a Fab Four connection, further emphasised by the fact one of Buzzkocks is called Paul Macca So, the Special K variant of the band, are with us tonight to pay fabulous homage to Pete Shelley and co's love lorn, libidinal, romantic razor sharp punk pop. They really did have the tuneful pop flair of them mop tops from the previous decade too. What a remarkable run of albums and singles they gifted us in the late 1970s. And what a stunning job of tribute Buzzkocks do. Peerless interpretations of all those kicking tunes, from Ever Fallen In Love to Moving Away From The Pulsebeat, What Do I Get to Noise Annoys. Absolutely superb, you wont be disappointed Buzzers fans. The Ramoanz likewise Dah Bruddas are expressed with loving attention to detail by these chaps. All the big choons, churned out with a cheery 1234 buzzsaw delivery just as youd hope. The original Ramones may all be gone, but The Ramoanz keep their fantastic flame well and truly lit. DJs We Got Killers spin the roots, shoots, fruits and cahoots of both bands til 2am tonight, spinning off into all manner of ska, reggae, soul, disco, rave, indie and rock and roll as dictated by your feet on the infamous DC dancefloor.

Candy Opera A very nice pop jangle with elements of Merseyside artists like the Bunnymen and The Icicle Works for sure. Good tunes, yeah, and check the pedigree. Candy Opera were formed in 1982 on the notorious Phythian Estate, Kensington, Liverpool. The band was heavily influenced by Love's seminal Forever Changes album, The Beach Boys, Aztec Camera and local neighbours, The Pale Fountains. Back together for your delectation Tonite. Distorted Model- Hooky female fronted dreampop via old school jangly indie Darling Buds etc. Great stuff The Raven Chords Americana, folk rock, psych and shugaze coalesce to create a mesmeric pop noir.

It's been produced at Manchester's Blueprint Studios by Tim Thomas (One Direction, Elbow, Johnny Marr, The Fall, Paul Heaton). Kuill - Neo soul artist who sometimes appears with a full gospel choirprobably not in the DC though! Belting voice and impassioned delivery. And he's been on The Voice. Tim Camrose singer songwriter based in the Northwest of England. He was a keen musician as a young lad growing up in London, however when he left home to study and pursue a career in medicine, he gave up his music for the next 40 years. Tim retired as a Surgeon last year, and now he is finally pursuing his long-held dream to write, record and perform his own songs. Whitney Lyman -a singer-songwriter from Seattle, now based in California. With a voice that is both powerful and hauntingly beautiful, Whitney's songs take you on a journey of emotional vocals, inspiring lyrics, and gorgeous orchestral elements blended beautifully with her unique indie pop and rock sound. In May 2024 she made her debut performance in the UK at FOCUS:Wales International Showcase Festival, returning by popular demand this year.

Movement81 are Swansea-based electronic duo Jason&Becky. Blending 80s and 90s influences with a contemporary edge, their live A/V performances shift between hypnotic rhythms, deep atmospheres, and uplifting dance. Theyve delivered A/V sets supporting Max Cooper and Plaid, as well as a closing A/V set for Swansea Fringe 2024. Their latest track Whitewall was featured on Radio 1 Dance with Jaguar, ahead of their forthcoming album If Infinity, landing on Petite Victory Collective in April 2025. Cafe Drop - playing meaty renditions of soul and crossover rock pop stuff (a cracking rendition of Fleetwood Mac's Black Magic Woman, in the wake of Santana). Highly talented bunch of players giving it their all. Ben Jordan - American independent musician from Denver, Colorado. He currently resides in Bristol, UK and tours worldwide. His wandering years can be heard in the rich lyricism of his songs that are soaked in a sound that could only have come from the states; the lyrical playfulness of Paul Simon through a window of the heartland rock of Springsteen and Petty. -Tom Nicholas - Ballad of a Thin Man.

Kosta D and the Fortune Tellers Psychedelic folk with a hazy U.S west coast feel, think country joe and the fish maybe only via some Britpop and other Anglo indie influences tonight launching their debut LP Tales from a Travelling Circus The Starxz Stooges/Dolls garagey punkers who occasionally drift into a slightly more indie , easy going vibe. Generally tho the ghost of Ron Ashton is rattling his lead guitar style. Heavy rocking in places but cool and charming throughout. Youre In My Veins, You Fuck! Matted is the sound of kids brought up on the classics, creating their own evolution for the 2020s. The raw energy of AC/DC, industrial tones of Nine Inch Nails, and the avant-garde of Mr Bungle, all twisted and turned into something totally unprecedented! The band are currently crafting their debut recordings with Danny Jones and Harry Judd from pop/rockers McFly/McBusted. Matted are ready to take on the world, one riff at a time Waiting Forever - Windswept folk tinged alternorock with high register, emoting vocals. A kind of Celtic rock indie vibe. Good band. The Velvet Thunders exploring the crisp, crunching, commercial hard rock end of punky indie. A ripping Ramones cover and other choice selections. Melodically keening lead guitar and righteous riffola. Good work! indie and post punk flavours rinsed for some cracking tunes. Live Wire Fast n frantic indie rock with some decent hooks and melody a possible nod to The Libertines but pretty much their own sound. The Resolve buzzsaw guitars and melodic alt rock.

Woking Calling play the Songs of The Clash and the Jam - The Jam and the Clash Made up musicians who've played for the UK Subs, Chords UK,, Vodka Tourists, Chelsea, and Bruce Foxtons Solo band, and having seen both bands live many times, we play with a passion and care, that we hope you'll appreciate. We are not a tribute to either, but most definitely a lover of both, playing a song from each band in a chronological order, with the classics held back to the end. This allows us to play some of the favourite album tracks, alongside the singles. Suggs sometimes sings. Mez & the Fezzes is an all-star band also featuring members of the Van Morrison Band and the Jools Holland Rhythm & Blues Orchestra. Between them they have worked with BB King, Paul McCartney, Tom Jones, Robert Plant, Joss Stone and many many more. Led by drummer/lead singer Mez Clough, the Fezzes play an infectious mix of rhythm & blues, rock n roll, surf and swing. They keep the dance floor rocking with classic tunes from the likes of Chuck Berry, Fats Domino as well as cult movie themes from Quentin Tarantino. Great stuff, that could well please admirers of Richard Hawley or Nick Lowe. Mel & Marcel the Lee and Nancy of the London suburbs perhaps, and something of the recently late and definitely lamented Marianne Faithful about Mel too. Twangsome and artful songcraft. Copper Lungs Dundee's Copper Lungs follow a series of brilliant releases, and hot shows alongside the likes of Fatherson, Vukovi, and The Xcerts, with an eagerly anticipated London show. DB Edmunds - out of Chapell Hill, Carolina, and packing a cool, easy going Americana come Paisley Underground sound that may well suit fans of Tom Petty, Nick Lowe, Elvis Costello, The Rain Parade or Green On Red. Earthy, rootsy but grounded in sublime pop Melodie's. Great stuff.

The Vivettes, 60's Garage Punk meets yer more prosaic 70s type punk, plus some rock in twang think the Cramps meet the Kinks. And their drummer Lydie has played the venue many times with her previous band Girls on Top, a band we really loved back in the naughty nineties and nearly as naughty noughties. RIP Vicki x. Arch Angels Excellent band! What a great bill!! Combining pop punk, riot grrl and DIY punker elements this all girl punk band sound like they mean it maaaan. Nice balance of frenzy and a more honed delivery. Contenders! Radioactive Puppies Of Chernobyl that's a real thing right Actual mutant canines ravaging Ukraine They should set em on Putin! It's also an ace name for a kick ass punk n roll band, which is just what we have here. No Feelings stonking female led grungey punkers with some James Williamsons like lead guitar bending and some superb tood from the aforementioned French gal upfront. Raw Milk Conspiracy Post punk with political leanings and an engaging spoken word approach to the vocals Bandit Sound Mixing an agreeable and engaging rap with some heavy funk rock'so Wiley fronting Funkadelickinda. Great stuff. Social consceince with a cool creative spin of verbals- Nice Logic rocks. Ghost Cat- Taking cues from classic Bowie and Suede with very tasteful playing all round and some good build ups and dramatic tension in the arrangements.

Whelligan crafted Mersey pop that takes inspiration from some of those local heroes, like The Teardrop Explodes, Wah!, The Coral and yeah maybe even The Fabs but probably more OMD! And that 70s psych into prog Brit rock vibe too, always prevalent in Liverpool.
