His Majesty does not have syphilis. He wants to make that quite clear. And as for the wives, there were perfectly good reasons why they had to go. And if were asking the awkward questions, Henry has one for us where is God? Henry has been waiting 468 years to meet God and hes running out of patience. The 16th-century King meets a 21st Century audience. Heads will roll.
The Haunting

The Haunting

2 Oct 2025 - 5 Oct 2025

By Hugh Janes adapted from the short stories of Charles Dickens In an ancient, crumbling mansion, two men stumble across a dark and terrifying secret that will change their lives forever. David Filde is employed to catalogue the estate's impressive library and finds an incredible array of rare books. But as a series of strange and unexplained events conspire to keep Filde from his work, he realises that if he is to convince his sceptical employer that the mysterious phenomena he is experiencing is real, they must journey together to the very edge of terror to discover the source of the terrifying visitations. This gripping adaptation of some of Charles Dickens' most haunting works, based on his spine-tingling tales of the unexpected, will have you on the edge of your seat. A Barn Theatre Society production under license from Nick Hern Books, starring Bill Allender and Charlie Abrahams. Directed by Matt Turpin.
Celebrating Shakespeare

Celebrating Shakespeare

15 Aug 2025 - 16 Aug 2025

On the 15-16 August we return with our much-loved production of Celebrating Shakespeare. Join Peter Mould, Susannah Mayor and Ian Klemen who will present a fun evening of all things bardic: speeches, jokes and anecdotes with music and songs set to original music, composed and performed by Steve Rivington. The evening will include the live production on stage of the hilarious live radio Macbeth including new honorary directors Matt Turpin and Zo Biba Leonard as Mr and Mrs Macbeth. We are delighted to confirm that both performances will be staged as a benefit for our dear Peter Mould, who has led the society for over twenty years, with all proceeds from the performances being gifted to Peter. There will also be a small celebration after each performance and members and guests are invited to share a drink and raise a glass to Peter.
