What if the world you waited a lifetime to hear was the very one you chose to leave behind? After decades of deafness, a man regains his hearing through surgery. But on his 50th birthday, high up in a compact flat in one of Hong Kongs towering public estates, he makes a quiet yet radical choice to turn away from the sounds of the world and retreat into silence. Within the walls of a home shaped by both love and loss, he begins to retrace his mothers story. As memories surface and space closes in around him, he wrestles with the invisible threads that bind fate and happiness searching not for clarity in sound, but for meaning in stillness. Contemplative, quietly powerful, and deeply human, this is a story of a silence he chooses freely in a city that never pauses. A performance that speaks straight to the heart without ever raising its voice. Playwright: Priscilla Poon Directors & Performers: Chris Sun , Priscilla Poon
Miss Jackson Pulled at Parklife

Miss Jackson Pulled at Parklife

10 Oct 2025 - 21 Nov 2025

A Brand New Comedy by MaD Theatre Company Miss Jackson teaches dance at a dead rough school and is putting on a production of Bugsy Malone with her dead rough kids. To reward them with their efforts and to show them how cool she is, she joins them at Parklife in Heaton Park to party. However when an unexpected admirer cops off with her whilst she’s watching rapper 50 Cents, all their lives take an amazing turn… Miss Jackson Pulled at Parklife has been inspired by Dennis Potter’s play Blue Remembered Hills where the kids characters are played by adults. Our play highlights contemporary life in a fictitious local high school and how the lives and attitudes of today’s youth is seen through those who are (quite a bit) older. From the producers of Nanna’s OnlyFans Film and Tony Monroe is Dead, Miss Jackson Pulled at Parklife is an irreverent commentary on today’s society and promises to be a bit naughty and a lot funny.
