Jah Wobble

23 May 2025 - 23 May 2025

Over the past three decades or so, Jah Wobble has ploughed his own furrow as a prolific solo artist, as well as becoming a well-respected session musician, with genuine passion for Eastern and Global music. He has worked with a diverse range of musicians, including Baaba Maal, Bjork, Primal Scream, Brian Eno, Sinead O'Connor, Julianne Regan, Delores O'Riordan, Holgat Czukay, The Edge and Chaka Demus & Pliers. The man born John Wardle began his musical journey when he met John Lydon and Sid Vicious at Kingsway College, London in 1973. It was Vicious who not only nicknamed John 'Jah Wobble' after a drunken binge but also loaned him his first bass guitar. Lydon asked JW to join Public Image Limited (aka PiL) in spring 1978. Wardle's distinctive 'low end' bass became the backbone of PiL's pioneering sound. After its follow-up, the exploratory yet sinister soundscapes of Metal Box, Wardle became disillusioned by politics within the band and their reluctance to play live. He eventually split from PiL in mid-1980 and embarked on a prolific solo career. Wobble is joined on stage by drummer Marc Layton-Bennett and Martin Chung.

Bad Manners

Bad Manners

22 May 2025 - 30 Jan 2026

Fronted by Buster Bloodvessel (born Douglas Trendle), the band was formed in 1976 while the members were at school together, and among their early incarnations were known as Stoop Solo and the Sheet Starchers. None of the members had any formal musical training, not even the ability to play any instruments. They were popular during the late 1970s and early 1980s, a period when lots of similar ska bands filled the charts. Some of their hits include 'My Girl Lollipop', 'Lip Up Fatty', 'Special Brew' and 'Ne-Ne-Na-Na-Na-Na-Nu-Nu'. One of the main reasons for their notoriety was because of their outlandish, larger-than-life, huge-tongued & shaven-headed front man. Buster´s exploits got them banned from the British TV chart show Top of the Pops (which included dressing as Henry VIII and singing to a blow-up doll for the song 'Lorraine', pouring a large can of baked beans over his head, and dressing in a can-can dancer´s dress to promote their single 'Can-Can').

2 May 2025 - 20 Dec 2025

Coming straight out of Newport The GLC are officially Britain’s biggest rap group. Known for classics like “Guns don’t kill people rappers do”, The GLC started almost by accident around the turn of the century with Eggsy’s impromptu rap about his tracksuit over a serious piece of music Rhys was working on in the studio. Adam Hussain, Billy Webb, Mystkal, the Maggot, 2hats and Mike Balls convinced Rhys to record the rap. Fuelled by Lambrini, fags, Chicken Tikka Massala and weed they all took to the mic and The GLC’s first album “Don’t Blame the Chain” was born. And so it began, the journey which has so far seen The GLC rise to the top of the charts, perform around the world and at every major festival in the Western Hemisphere and make millions of people laugh along the way. Now many years since that first rap about Eggsy’s tracksuit, the boys are still keeping it real in the rap game and hold the title of the most successful UK rap act ever. To date The GLC have released 18 albums… and amazingly none of them have died yet. You knows it! GLC (Live) plus special guests

Milton Jones: HA!milton

Milton Jones: HA!milton

3 May 2025 - 29 Nov 2025

This is not a musical. Milton Jones is tone deaf and has no sense of rhythm, but at least he doesn’t make a song and dance about it. He has more important things to discuss. Like giraffes... and there’s a bit about tomatoes. You might know him from Mock the Week, Live at the Apollo or Radio 4. Or that time he stood for the Scottish National Party, fought a hard campaign, but in the end had to respect the wishes of the people of Cardiff. A whole new show of daftness. You know it makes sense. Warning - contains jokes from the start.

As one of the most traditional guitar bands to emerge during the Brit-pop era of the mid-'90s, Cast have carved out a sound that was heavily indebted to the British Invasion of the early '60s, yet it was infused with a mystical, pseudo-hippie lyrical sensibility, which lead singer John Power expanded upon in all of his interviews. What really made Cast into a success was Power's gift for simple, classic pop hooks, as demonstrated on the hit singles "Fine Time," "Alright," and "Walkaway." Cast became a very, very popular band within Britain following the success of Oasis and Blur. Labelled ‘The Who of the 90’s’, Noel Gallagher once described watching Cast play live as “a religious experience.”

Kenny Thomas

Kenny Thomas

17 May 2025 - 25 Jul 2025

Kenny Thomas was one of the most popular UK soul dance vocalists of the early 1990s. His biggest UK hit came in 1991 with ‘Thinking About Your Love’ (number 4), while his debut album sold more than 600, 000 copies in the UK alone. Other hit singles spawned by that debut included ‘Outstanding’, ‘The Best Of You’ and ‘Tender Love’, and also resulted in a Brit Award nomination for Best British Male Vocalist and Best British Newcomer. The warm, relaxed dance grooves of that debut were replicated on a second album that continued Thomas’ massive commercial success. Guest musicians this time round included the Young Disciples, Nu Colours and the Reggae Philharmonic Orchestra. This time some of the bonhomie of the original set was more restrained, with a slightly more mature lyrical vision reflecting more real-life experiences. Over the years Kenny has retained an extremely loyal following on the Soul/Funk circuit and is often one of the first names ‘considered’ for ‘Soul All dayers’ etc. However, now in 2021 Kenny has recruited a new band and is about to go out live to celebrate the 30th anniversary of his debut album ‘Voices’, that featured the hits Thinking about your love, Outstanding, Tender Love & Best of you In addition to the album Kenny has just released in conjunction with Dr Packer a new version of the seminal Fatback Band classic ‘I found lovin’ – this song has been a staple of Kenny’s live sets for some time and has already landed in several Soul based singles charts across the UK

Closer to home, gardening is fundamental to Adam’s sense of family, wellbeing and recovery. In September 2021, he found himself grappling with the mental scars of the pandemic and facing a momentous house (or more importantly, garden) move. He’ll talk about navigating that change and reconnecting with nature. Adam will also explore the creative act of putting a garden together and how he’s had to learn to embrace his artistic side. Don’t miss your chance to hear Adam’s amusing anecdotes and poignant reflections, and to immerse yourself not just in gardening, but in human nature itself and the madness of it all.

Celebrating 20 years of touring the world, bagpipes with attitude and drums with a Scottish accent. This blazing rock band has a show so hot it should carry its own health warning! The Red Hot Chilli Pipers were voted Scotland’s ‘Live Act of the Year in 2007 and 2010 at the Scots Trad Music Awards. Since they walked away with the top prize on UK primetime TV talent show, ‘When Will I Be Famous’ in 2007, the Red Hot Chilli Pipers haven’t stopped for a breath, other than to inflate their bagpipes! Taking their signature ‘Bagrock’ sound to the masses, The Chillis have fast become a global phenomenon, rocking far-flung shores from Melbourne to Milwaukee and everywhere in between. A six-week jaunt ‘Down Under’ followed with the guys managing to find time in amongst their hectic schedule to support the Scottish rugby team at the World Cup. Their Red Hot performances earned them a new legion of fans from Auckland to Adelaide! Further trips to the USA, Saudi Arabia and the UAE saw the band cement their reputation as one of the most exciting live acts around!
The Wildhearts

The Wildhearts

24 May 2025 - 24 Jul 2025

For 3 decades The Wildhearts have remained at the forefront of the British rock scene. From their classic debut album ‘Earth Vs’ (voted number one album of the year in Kerrang! back in 1993, and number 20 in the best rock albums of all time in a Kerrang! Special in 2006), through to now with the release of ‘Renaissance Men’, their first full-length studio album in 10 years, their creative output and legendary live shows have been second to none. Although the 90’s saw the band covered like a living soap opera in the press with tales of sex, drugs, bust ups, fights (both with labels and themselves), splits, more drugs and a lot more controversy (one such incident including entering and then proceeding to trash the Kerrang! Offices!), the recent years have seen the band more focused than ever before and firing on all cylinders. The Wildhearts and their incendiary shows have cemented their reputation and legacy as one of the best bands the UK has ever produced. Welcoming back their long-time bandmate and brother Danny McCormack on bass; Ginger and CJ on guitars and vocals, with Ritch Battersby on drums released their new album ‘Renaissance Men’ on May 3rd to critical acclaim. “It’s The Wildhearts remembering what they do best” - 9 out 10, hailed Classic Rock, with Metal Hammer saying Renaissance Men is “the best thing they’ve made since their genius / batshit crazy debut, Earth Vs The Wildhearts, back in 1993. Actually, thats not true. It might be better.” While Kerrang! gave the album 4Ks, Planet Rock 5 stars and Vive Le Rock 10 out 10!

With Sleepless Empire, that place is dark, cinematic, and unmistakably true to the unique characteristics that have given Lacuna Coil such a celebrated entry in the annals of heavy music. As founding songwriter-in-chief Marco Coti Zelati, aka Maki explains, while the writing process for Lacuna Coil’s tenth studio record began in December, the record’s real creative birth coincided with the release of 2022’s Comalies XX, a 20th-anniversary reimagining of their landmark 2002 record, Comalies. It was more than an epic and rapturously received reinvention of that 21st century classic.

Eliza Carthy & Jon Boden's Wassail

Eliza Carthy & Jon Boden's Wassail

16 Nov 2025 - 16 Dec 2025

Before there was carolling, there was wassailing, where seasonal songs were exchanged for money, food and ale. In the countryside, trees were blessed, while in the towns wassaillers went house to house with their songs and calls for Christmas treats. Coming from the Anglo Saxon waes hael, ‘wassail’ is a toast wishing good health with a ‘be well’. Eliza Carthy and Jon Boden combine their considerable talents and reputations within the UK folk scene, for the first time ever touring as a duo for a nationwide wassail. Jon Boden – one half of Spiers & Boden, lead singer of the mighty Bellowhead and with his own successful solo career – has been a major name in English folk music for over twenty years. Eliza Carthy has twice been nominated for the Mercury Prize, won innumerable other accolades over a 20-year career, performed with everyone from Paul Weller to Martha Wainwright and guest-presented on BBC Radio 2. Presenting seasonal, traditional material on a stage decorated for the occasion, they will take audiences back to some of the oldest songs in the English canon, telling Christmas tales, spreading good cheer and lighting up the darkest days of the year, ahead of Christmas Day itself.

Their experimental style pays little attention to genres, blending violin and saxophone with guitar and keyboard for a muscular, energetic sound, which has been compared to Slint or Dirty Projectors. Many fans fell for their sardonic, zeitgeist-capturing storytelling style after hearing their first single Athens, France about dating a confident, younger girlfriend who was into Ariana Grande, followed up by Sunglasses, full of references to modern life, including NutriBullets and Danish crime dramas.

Stiff Little Fingers

Stiff Little Fingers

1 Jul 2025 - 2 Jul 2025

Stiff Little Fingers were formed in 1977 in Belfast, Ireland. Along with the likes of the Clash, Sex Pistols, The Jam, Buzzcocks, Undertones, Sham 69, Stranglers, et al – Stiff Little Fingers were at the forefront of the punk movement. They wrote initially about their own lives, growing up at the height of The Troubles in Northern Ireland, in songs like “Suspect Device” and “Wasted Life”. In November of ’77, they released those two songs on their own Rigid Digits label, and sent a copy to BBC Radio One DJ John Peel, who started playing it every night. These were the first of what became SLF’s signature style: lyrics that meld the personal and political, music that combines the energy of punk with infectious hooks, and delivery that rings of honesty and commitment. In 1979 they became the first band ever to hit the UK top 20 album charts on an independent label with their debut Inflammable Material. The album chronicles the band’s anger and frustration at “the Troubles” in Northern Ireland, and calls on youth to create their own reality. Over the years, their live shows continued to be special events of energy and power. Their studio albums demonstrate their passion and anger, each in its own way. In ’94 they released the Get a Life LP. The album helped renew interest in SLF just as newer bands that sited them as a major influence, such as Bad Religion, Sugar, Rancid and Therapy?, were coming to prominence. After many studio albums and countless tours, Stiff Little Fingers find themselves more in demand than ever.

His 1980s poetry collection 10 Years in An Open Necked Shirt featuring the lyrics to classic tracks from his albums and more, is one of the UKs biggest selling poetry collections of all time. Since then his career has spanned cultures, audiences, art forms and continents. Today he performs purely as a stand up solo poet. His unique poetry show has been touring worldwide for over 15 years. Dr John Cooper Clarke's 2019 autobiography, named after his most famous poem I Wanna Be Yours, (Macmillan), is a groundbreaking piece of literature. JCC goes into fascinating detail about his early life in Manchester leading up to punk superstardom, drug addiction and then the massive comeback as major poet he enjoys today.

Sh!t-faced Shakespeare®: Hamlet

7 Aug 2025 - 15 Nov 2025

Sh!t-faced Shakespeare® have toured the world, broken America, established themselves on London’s West End, won numerous awards, and survived a zero-star review in The Times. In 2025, they will be celebrating 15 years on the wagon with one of the Bard’s most popular tragedies: Hamlet.  Featuring a cast of professional Shakespearean actors, this unique production takes an unpredictable twist each night as one performer is chosen to be deliberately intoxicated for up to four hours before showtime. The rest of the cast must then navigate the play, improvising their way through the unpredictable chaos that springs from their inebriated colleague's booze-fuelled antics.  Filled to the brim with foul language, outrageous behaviour and sporadic urination, Shakespeare's tales have often pushed the boundaries of moral decency. Sh!t-faced Shakespeare® aims to raise a glass and smash those boundaries to pieces.  Sh!t-faced Shakespeare®️ are excited to once again drunkenly stomp all over the greatest dramatic work ever committed to page in the English language: the story of a privileged whiny lad who goes a bit bonkers and does some stabbings.
