Ruth Notman is a folk singer/songwriter from Nottingham who is, most notably, known for being one of the leading ‘nu-folk revivalists’ in the late 00’s who bridged folk music into the 21st Century and plugged it into a mainstream audience. Ruth first rocketed into the consciousness of the wider music scene in 2007, at 18 years old, with her debut album ‘Threads’. Notman’s unique voice coupled with her novel and vibrant interpretation of folk songs garnered her overnight national critical acclaim and media attention seldom seen by a small independent release. ‘Threads’ also gained Notman support from luminaries such as BBC Radio 2’s Bob Harris, Kate Rusby and Mike Harding to name a few. Ruth further cemented her musical stature and identity with extensive touring and the release of her second album, ‘The Life of Lilly’ (2009), which enjoyed similar accolades to her debut. In 2015, Notman was invited to join the impressive collaborative artist roster of the ‘Evamore’ project where her studio contributions and stunning vocal compositions attracted the late Sinead O’Connor. The song ‘One More Yard’ was released in 2019 and featured Ronnie Wood, Nick Mason and Imelda May. Notman teamed up with BBC Radio 2 Folk Award-winning artist Sam Kelly in 2019 to record their album ‘Changeable Heart’ with Kate Rusby’s label, Pure Records. Katherine Priddy

Katherine Priddy

16 Apr 2026 - 9 May 2026

Over the past three years, Priddy has quietly been building a growing following, captivating audiences around the UK with her haunting vocals, rich harmonies, distinctive finger picking guitar style and enchanting songs whose lyrics celebrate her life-long love affair with literature and poetry. She has been championed by BBC Radio 2 and BBC 6 Music and her debut EP 'Wolf' was chosen by Richard Thompson as his Best Thing I've Heard All Year in MOJO Magazine in 2018. With the buzz around her building, Priddy is making her mark in 2021 with the release of an eagerly-anticipated debut album on Navigator Records, The Eternal Rocks Beneath, which is set to bring her to even wider notice. The 10 self-penned tracks are delivered with a maturity and depth that belie the fact that this is her first full length release. At times tender, at times carrying a darker edge, the stories she weaves are transporting. Not surprising then that Nick Drake, John Martyn, Tunng and Scott Matthews are amongst her many influences. It has already received an amazing response from radio and press, including a 4 star review from The Observer, which described it as 'an accomplished set of original songs delivered in a breathtaking voice'. Meanwhile, Folk Radio declared it 'A debut of true substance, it's like searching for a simple shelter and stumbling upon a diamond mine'. The album was recorded over a 2-year period at Rebellious Jukebox studios, a little basement studio hidden beneath inner-city Birmingham and presided over by masterful producer Simon Weaver. The ensemble cast of musicians, including a sweeping string section, occasionally cut through by raw electric guitar and drums, as well as Richard March (Pop Will Eat Itself) on double bass and Mikey Kenny on fiddle, enhance Priddy's command of melody and lyricism and provide the perfect backdrop for the feelings of nostalgia and timelessness that underpin the record. Having already racked up some serious air play from the likes of Tom Robinson, Guy Garvey, Cerys Matthews, Radcliffe & Maconie, Gideon Coe, Steve Lamacq and Janice Long, as well as supported the likes of Richard Thompson & The Chieftains and playing well-earned spots at festivals and sell-out headline shows around the country, Priddy is a fast-rising star on the scene. The Eternal Rocks Beneath is poised to cement the place of this determined young woman in the folk world and beyond.

Massive Wagons

Massive Wagons

17 Apr 2026 - 2 May 2026

Hard rockers Massive Wagons formed in 2009 in their hometown of Carnforth, England with vocalist Barry Mills and guitarist Adam Thistlethwaite who were at the time on the local live circuit as part of indie rock band Ace Face (though with Mills on bass guitar). The duo decided to strike out with their own music of a harder hitting variety, with the stage show to match. The decision was influenced by the resurging popularity of hard rock acts of the time, primarily Airbourne and Black Stone Cherry and the duos lifelong affinity for classic rock acts such as UFO, Rainbow and Slade. Adams brother Alex was recruited on drums and old school buddy Adam Bouskill joined on bass, freeing Mills to focus on the role of frontman, the line-up was completed by Carl Cochrane on rhythm guitar. For a while the 5 piece was nameless until they jokingly adopted the nickname of a local barmaid for their first gig, only for the name to stick and become their official moniker.

Arthur Brown

Arthur Brown

13 Apr 2026 - 13 Apr 2026

Arthur Brown is synonymous with his 1968 hit “Fire” and the Hammond-driven “Crazy World” line-up which spawned it. However, his ‘God of Hellfire’ burned out fast and, in 1970, he returned with a new project: the prog-festival freak-show Kingdom Come followed by a varied solo career. Those initial four band albums, by The Crazy World of Arthur Brown and by Kingdom Come are thrilling, as tend to be Brown’s cameos on other peoples’ projects. Best known for his flamboyant theatrical performances and his powerful, wide- ranging operatic voice. He has been a major influence on a wide range of musicians due to his outstanding vocal ability and wild stage persona and concepts. He is considered a pioneer of shock rock and progressive rock and influential on heavy metal music. He associated with Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Frank Zappa, Hawkwind, Klaus Schultze and Alice Cooper and made a cameo appearance in the cult film “The Committee” and also “Tommy”. His countless collaborations include The Alan Parsons Project, The Stranglers and The Prodigy. His best-known single “Fire” hit number 1 in the UK singles chart and Canada, and a number 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The album “The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown” had top ten success on both sides of the Atlantic. Following “Fire”, the press would often refer to Brown as “The God of Hellfire”, in reference to the opening shouted line of the song. Arthur shows no signs of stopping or slowing down and continues to record and release hugely inspiring music, including his most recent release “Long, Long Road” (2022) and the launch of his current multi-media show “A Human Perspective”. Live support comes from Matthew North. A fundraising event for Exeter community radio station Phonic FM.

Kiefer Sutherland

Kiefer Sutherland

12 May 2026 - 27 May 2026

Kiefer Sutherland has been a professional actor for over thirty years, starring in movies like 'Stand By Me', 'The Lost Boys', 'Young Guns', Flatliners', 'A Few Good Men', 'A Time to Kill', 'Dark City', 'Melancholia' and most recently, a western called 'Forsaken,' as well as the TV series '24.' But unknown to many during the course of his career, he has taken on other vocations with the same kind of dedication and commitment. The first one, beginning around 1992, was that of a cattle rancher and competitive cowboy (roper) in the USTRC team roping circuit. He ran a successful ranch with partner John English for almost a decade. During that timeframe, Sutherland won numerous roping events around the country including Phoenix, Indio and the Los Angeles Open. In 2002, Sutherland, with his music partner and best friend Jude Cole, began a small record label called Ironworks. The goal of this label was to record local musicians and distribute their music at a time when the music industry was going through a monumental shift. Some of their artists included Rocco DeLuca and the Burden, HoneyHoney and Billy Boy On Poison. In 2009, Sutherland left the label to recharge and figure out what he was going to do next. In early 2015 Sutherland played Cole two songs he had written and wanted to record as demos for other artists to record. Cole responded positively to the songs and the album grew organically from those recordings. Two songs became four and four grew into six, until Cole suggested that they make a record. Their collaboration resulted in Kiefer Sutherland's upcoming debut album: 'Down In A Hole'.
Audhd & Women: Grounded In Research & Lived Experience
Explore how autism and ADHD overlap, interact and complement each other in women. With Q&A. What does it mean to “be AuDHD”? Why do so many women only get diagnosed later in life? When someone lives at the intersection of autism and ADHD - known as AuDHD - the result can be a unique but often misunderstood neurotype. Join Dr Emma Craddock in exploring the combined diagnoses of autism and ADHD, focusing on women’s experiences of receiving a late diagnosis in adulthood. She will shed light on why neurodivergence’s diagnosis is often missed in women. Drawing on scientific research and personal experience, this talk will consider what it means to be AuDHD - and how this differs from living with ADHD or autism alone. Speaker Bio: Dr Emma Craddock is a Senior Lecturer in Health Research at Birmingham City University and Co-Editor of the academic journal “Health”. As a late-diagnosed AuDHD woman herself, she was interested in this unique experience - leading her to conduct the first study exploring women’s experiences of adulthood AuDHD diagnoses. She is also the author of “Living Against Austerity: A feminist investigation of doing activism and being activist” (Bristol University Press, 2020). Her research on gendered health inequalities has shaped policy debates and attracted international media attention, featuring in outlets such as BBC News, Tatler Hong Kong, and 360Info, reaching over 1.8 million readers. Things Fall

Things Fall

30 Mar 2026 - 11 Apr 2026

Things Fall is an exhibition of new and recent sculptural works by a collective of eleven artists living and working across the UK, who explore notions of precariousness, fallibility, and ephemerality in a time of social, political and environmental instability. Playful and unruly, the work is connected by a shared interest in sculptural precarity. Often improvisational and made of ordinary everyday materials, their mutable forms are activated with a sense of potential energy that keeps them alive and open to new possibilities. They won't fall (hopefully) but they may sometimes teeter, clinging on to verticality, while resisting permanence, solidity and certainty. This sense of precarity extends beyond the material structures and processes employed in their creation, to explore wider ideas about what sculpture is – and is for. It upends ideas of a traditional monument and riffs on versions of 'antimonumental' sculpture; whether in terms of resisting physical monumentality – by embodying fragility, mess, absurdity and chance; or in terms of replacing, subverting, and reframing the contested legacies of colonial monuments. By extension, Things Fall might be seen to call into question any of the structures, systems and frameworks that prop up contemporary life.
Ben Hartley: Through Yellow Light

Ben Hartley: Through Yellow Light

30 Mar 2026 - 11 Apr 2026

An installation by artist Ben Hartley, that contrasts feelings of nostalgia with geological time. Born out of a desire to return to something that doesn't, or may never have existed. The title references both the nostalgia for the yellow light produced by car headlights and streetlights before their replacement with cold white LEDs; and the yellow light through which ancient organic matter preserved within fossilised tree resin is seen and remembered. In an apparent rejection of this modernity, the headlamps now become makeshift lightboxes, once again emitting a yellow glow, the matter enshrined within the amber-like material, illuminated in stasis for perpetuity. Ben Hartley is a Bristol-based artist originally from Somerset, primarily working in sculpture and installation. Their process stems from encounters with material, and utilises fictioning to create sculptural interventions that exist both in and outside of our reality that engage with archaeology, science fiction and ritual.

Soft Machine

Soft Machine

7 Apr 2026 - 25 Nov 2026

Their work, from their earliest performances as a psychedelic band who were contemporaries of, and shared stages with, Syd Barrett’s Pink Floyd and the Jimi Hendrix Experience, all the way to being one of Europe’s best known ‘fusion’ groups, has influenced several generations of bands, and continues to be name-checked by today’s hip experimentalists. Whilst the line-up of Soft Machine may have changed many times since the heady days of the late 1960’s, the band’s spirit of musical adventure, and the ease with which it freely avoids being pigeon holed and can move from powerful progressive jazz fusion to atmospheric psychedelia to free improvised jazz-rock to ambient loop music continues to make it both unique and totally contemporary.

Textile Course: Slow Stitching Story Box 5 Weeks
Slow Stitching - Tell your story in Creative Textiles! Everyone has a story. We are all part of life's rich tapestry… Each of us experiences at least one or two of life's big shifts at some point. The happy ones: falling in love, getting married, starting a family, or becoming a grandparent, for example. And the sad or challenging ones like divorce, bereavement, or children leaving the nest. But where there's life, there's creativity! This series of five weekly workshops will translate these stories into a unique piece of narrative artwork, namely a Story Box, embracing life's knocks and delights, and becoming a richly worked object full of charm, made entirely by hand. A fabric collage if you like… The process of stitching by hand slows our breathing and provides an oasis of calm in our busy lives. A special kind of conversation happens when people come together to sew. You’ll be encouraged to discover and reflect on aspects of yourself and your experiences, and to bring along personal scraps of fabric and your own pictures from home, which will be printed onto cloth for you. You can embroider into these as well to personalise your creation even more, adding buttons, lace, or words if you like, to tell your tale, As the course progresses, you will work through the process of balancing these into a cohesive piece of work, learning textile skills along the way. Your final box will not only be deeply personal to you but can become a beautiful part of your home; it might even be useful for keeping your next craft project in!

Brain Fools: Balance

12 Jul 2026 - 12 Jul 2026

“Balance: Balancing Secrets. Juggling Trust.” Two performers, two steel beer kegs, and a path of empty glass bottles. In Balance, Brainfools transforms this vintage confinement into a breathtaking playground. Stripping away traditional circus apparatus, the duo utilises a landscape of "found objects": heavy industrial kegs, a rickety wooden plank, and fragile glass bottles. Through a seamless fusion of fluid choreography and high-stakes partner acrobatics, they reclaim these items, transforming them from static stock into instruments of connection. What starts as a wary standoff melts into a high-energy game of risk and reliance. Witness a visual feast of resilience as they toss heavy weights with effortless grace, climb shifting towers, and navigate a nerve-wracking path atop glass bottles. At its heart, Balance is a life-affirming story about how we support each other when the ground feels shaky—proving that even strangers can find equilibrium when the world tips over.

Expect an evening of the ‘great’ songs from Mitchell’s back catalogue, such as Amelia, Woodstock, A Case Of You, Song For Sharon, Edith And The Kingpin etc.!
Agile Rabbit: To Lose A War: Jon Lee Anderson In Conversation
The acclaimed author and New Yorker writer is live in conversation about his new book, ‘To Lose a War’, with the celebrated human rights lawyer Samantha Knights KC. Jon Lee Anderson first reported from Afghanistan in the late 1980s, covering the US-backed mujahideen’s insurrection against the Soviet-backed regime in Kabul. Within days of the 9/11 attacks, he was again on the ground as an early eyewitness to the new war launched by the US against the Taliban and their Al Qaeda allies. At the time, the American military had prevailed on the battlefield, and the newfound peace seemed to offer a precious space for Afghan society to restore itself and to forge a democratic future. But all was not well: Osama bin Laden was still in hiding, the Taliban were stealthily reorganizing for a comeback, and the United States was about to turn its attention to Iraq. ‘To Lose a War’ collects Anderson’s writing from Afghanistan over a near-quarter-century span, offering a chronological account of a monumental tragedy as it unfolds. The colossal waste, missed signals, and wishful thinking that characterized the twenty-year arc of the US-led war in Afghanistan have consecrated it as one of the greatest foreign policy failures of the modern era, and a bellwether of a larger American imperial decline.

Anthony Gomes

Anthony Gomes

19 Jul 2026 - 25 Jul 2026

With a guitar slung over his shoulder and the amps turned up full tilt, Anthony Gomes electrifies blues and rock at a 21st century crossroads of his own. The Canadian vocalist, guitarist, songwriter and producer wails with all the force of a hurricane in the Mississippi Delta and enough fret-burning fireworks to leave his strings in flames. Over the years, he’s toppled the Billboard Blues Chart at #1, earned the endorsement of legends such as B.B. King, tallied tens of millions of streams, and packed shows on multiple continents. In April 2025, Anthony Gomes is back with his much-anticipated 14th studio album, Praise the Loud, set for release on Rat Pak Records. Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, he fell in love with music as a kid, listening to everyone from Muddy Waters and Jimi Hendrix to Jeff Beck and Eddie Van Halen. At 14 years old, Anthony gravitated to the guitar and his relationship with the instrument was born. After grinding it out, his chops caught the attention of B.B. King’s bus driver at a jam night. Blown away, the driver introduced him to B.B. who invited him to open up a string of tour dates in 2005. Gaining invaluable knowledge from “The King,” he went on to share the stage with the likes of Buddy Guy, Robert Plant, Joe Bonamassa, Heart, Sammy Hagar, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and more. Along the way, his concert attendees have included Academy® Award winner Morgan Freeman, John Goodman, and Vince Vaughn as well as Eric Clapton, to name a few.
Tom McRae

Tom McRae

2 Oct 2026 - 1 Nov 2026

British singer-songwriter Tom Mcrae, along with his regular touring musicians ‘The Standing Band’, has been quietly moving up the ranks of the most respected songwriters in the world today after releasing 7 critically acclaimed studio albums over the last 15 years and writing for a variety of artists and singers. Mcrae’s eponymous debut album in 2000 was nominated for a The Mercury Prize, a Q Magazine Award, and a Brit, and the subsequent two years of touring cemented his reputation as one the most entertaining and powerful artists touring today. Mcrae’s second album, Just Like Blood, released to wide acclaim, with every track being licensed for TV and film use, his style of music fitting perfectly the darker output of LA’s film studios. Since then, Essex-born Mcrae has released five more albums, relocated internationally three times and set up his own label Buzztree Studios in Cornwall- and there’s no sign that he’s going to be slowing down anytime soon. Mcrae and his tour mates, The Standing Band, a collection of incredible musicians and loyal friends, released their latest record ‘Did I Sleep and Miss The Boarder’ this Autumn. The album and its accompanying tour have further added to the cult that is rapidly springing up around this talented and dedicated artist and his ragtag band. For an artist working in a genre often considered by the music press to be ‘sensitive and self-indulgent’, Mcrae possesses the talent to blow the roof off a venue with his passionate performances, as well as the innate ability forge a strong humorous bond with his audience.
